It would be nice if Microsoft could change the way the parking spaces (Used by AI Aircraft) are defined. Currently, in FS2002, only one parameter defines a parking space - its radius. Getting an AI aircraft to go to a specific parking space with only this one variable is difficult.Schemes such as RAFCAD (which I use) have come along that use this one parameter. Hello,I'd like to know, when flying VFR on a small GA airplane, does the pilot has to follow any airways (enroute airways), or does he/she expect an assigned altitude to go from point A to point B, then it's down to the pilot to get there? What are the limitations in terms of using the airspace? Are the rules the same for Europe and for US there?Cheers,Francois

Definitely one of the best packages out of the box we've seen! And boy does it run smooth without having to run a Garmin and host of other tech addons at the same time! ;-) Love all that sky. All TrackIR users need this plane. And to think they did all this to help save the real bird - money very well spent IMO. I would like to see Microsoft build the sensitivites into the flight model. Or the third party Payware or Freeware aircraft developers will develop all aircraft for the Defaults (PSS does this as a standard). Or at a minimum, be able to save the sensitivity settings with the aircraft or have some parameter [Aileron Sensitivity = (Setting on the current scale)] in the aircraft cfg file. And then the "Reset to Default" will be the one that is provided by the Payware or Freeware aircraft developers. I understand that the user will need to adjust these settings to compensate for system performance. But some kind of standard of handling sensitivities needs to be addresse…

My MS Precision pro joystick has always worked fine -- but just lately , sometimes when I startup Fs2002 (after using other programmes) , the joystick functions will not work - I have to completely reboot the machine to get it to work. Closing Fs2002 and restarting is no good at all.I have a suspicion that I won't be able to get any help on this one -- because it is one of those "mysterious" intermittants that happen for unknown reasons.But anyway -- anybody else experienced this rather strange behaviour. I am sure I have seen this before but my search doesn't bring any relevant information: When I load ANY plane, my elevator trim is set all the way down. If I try to change it, it returns to the original position as soon as I stop hitting the keboard. I ave removed FSUIPC to be sure, and have checked my key and joystick assignments, to no avail. Has anybody got an idea?

Friends, Not braggin', but I just have to tell you about the new system I set up today, and how MSFS likes it.It's just unbelieveable, and I mean it. It's a Dell 8250, ATI Radeon 9700, Soundblaster Audigy THX with 128 mg, 120 gig hard drive, 18" LCD Ultra Sharp monitor from Dell (these LCD's have no problem at all with MSFS provided you have a Digital Video In/Out), 512 megs of Ram (believe me, you don't need any more than this). The monitor runs in 1280 x 1024.I spent all day loading my wife's embroidery software (her hobby), and saved MSFS for after dinner.Set up the frame target at 30, maxed out all sliders, set my usual realism options, and fired it up. I know it's a bit off topic but this is the best forum to get answers from! :-)I know that if a specific game can produce 100fps but my refresh rate is set to 85, the maximum frames I get displayed will be 85... What is the difference between a refresh rate of 85 and one of 120? I ask because my monitor will do 120 at the resolution I have set it to, and would like to know if it's always best to go with the highest possible refresh rate your monitor can display at a certain resolution...Thanks!!I know 60 is no good because of the flickering and headaches that come with it! lol

Well I went down to Circuit City today and bought my Radeon 9700 Pro and well.............OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This card is great! I can now run FS2002 Pro in 1600x1200x32 with 4xFSAA and 16xAA and maintain a SOLID 26 FPS!!!!!!The picture quality has to be 10x better then my GF3 TI500..easy. In fact I can raise the FSAA up to 6x and only lose about 1-2 FPS it is great!!!And to top it all off, my installation of this cards was A LOT smoother then my GF3 TI500 installation! I seem to be having some problems within scenery. I have installed numerous AFCAD files and with Flight Sim 2002 under create flight if you pull up one of these destinations it goes to the default Meigs??? Stumped. Short of doing a full reinstall any suggestions? There must be more persons with the same problem because all of the AFCAD files come from AVSIM, FlightSim, or PAI. Please advise.Thanks.

I am wanting to create some flightplans for Air Astana, a regional airline in Kazakhstan. Some have already been done, but as the airline only has three aircraft, I want to create them in such a way that there'll only be 3 aircraft at Almaty at any one time. Through contacts in the airline, I have managed to get a schedule showing what routes each aircraft has operated on each day. I have painted three individual aircraft to represent the fleet. Now the question is, how easy is it to translate this into flightplans for FS? Can I enter the flights the aircraft operates for Monday, then for Tuesday etc. whilst keeping the entry as one flight plan? Does each day's flig…

Imagine I want to fly 100% IFR. For this reason, I'd like to take advantage of all my monitor surface to display the panel, and take all the CPU to animate the panel with no exterior view. As far as I know, FS2002 does not let you close the window that displays the exterior view. The only solution I found is to resize the panel so that it takes all the screen space.In that case, does FS2002 consume CPU to calculate the exterior visualization?Does the video card work to render the landscape (with textures and details) even if it is not visible?This is importnat for me as I plan to use FS2002 in IFR mode on low-end machines.Thanks !!Eric
