This might start some flaming, but after reading some of the reviews and previews and comparisons between the 9800 Pro and 9700 Pro, I've come up with this realisation as this card pertains to FS2K2:The best thing about this card: It will lower the price of the 9700Pro!I honestly didn't see a whole lot in the comparison I read that would make me want to spend $499 in the hopes of a slight increase. Maybe I've just been lulled by my GeForce 3 ti 200 that I'm going to replace with the 9700, but in the comparison I read, using "Dungeon Siege" that it said was CPU intensive (ie FS2K2) it didn't look like there was a huge performance increase. Hi everybody,I'm currently having a problem and I'm sure your the only solution to have it resolve. It is that I can't increment my NAV radio by .01,; what happen is (let's say) 112.00, 112.05, 112.10 instead of 112.00, 112.01, 112.02 and...Everything seems ok in FSUIPC, ''fix acceleration'' is checked ; increments by 50hz is unchecked. I really don't know what to do.Anybody has a tips..Thanks and sorry for my poor English

This runway has been my nemesis since I installed FS2002. For example last night I flew in from KIAH, on final I was perfect on the vasi light system, (two red, two white) I was dead center of the runway all the way to 50 feet over the threshhold when all of a sudden as usually happens when I land at this runway the aircraft trajectory changes from straight down the runway to moving at an angle off the runway. I was using the Falcon 50, no matter how much rudder pressure I apply, I cannot change the slide off the runway. Anyone else experience this, or is it just me?

I noticed when I boot up MSFS2002 with recently added sceneries that it hangs at 67% when building the new data base (through the typical Scenery Library) and it it likes to then crash and try to send an error report.I took a whole block of addons I had installed and deleted the sceneries within MSFS and now it "seems" to work fine. I have "seems" addressed like that because I read a post here a while back that sceneries should have both the area and layer number for any given addon the same. Just saw the latest preview/review at www.tomshardware.com and the new NvidiaFX 5800 Ultra looked pretty good..........Then today they posted the info about the Radeon 9800 Pro and once again Nvidia appears to be getting passed by. It is my opinion that Nvidia may have waited too long to put out there FX cards and now ATI is eating them alive.The sad part is that in the final review of the FX 5800 Ultra card posted yesterday the 5800 wasn't beating the 9700 Pro by that great of a margin.....now the 9800 Pro is coming out and ATI is just pouring salt into the wound.The only downside is that the 256mb version is going to be $499.....a little to high for my tastes!! Hey Gang!I've been looking at the released screenshots of the upcoming FS2004 A Century of Flight release - hopefully this Summer. It looks to me like this is not going to be a major deal, except for the atmospherics part of the program. It seems like they may enhance some things here and there, fix some reported issues from FS2002 here and there, and totally re-vamp the atmospherics part of the program, which I think was definitely needed. All of this is nice and dandy, except for one thing - They have not gotten the rain tackled yet. Hi guys, its been along time since I posted but got some great news.I have been looking at building a sim in one of my rooms. I had been to more sights than you could imagine to look at photos for ideals. From the basic setup to the setup with actual airplane parts, throttles, yokes, etc. Howevery in every case the price was too much for me, I make a good living, but this is a hobby. does anybody know of a good place to find the latitude and longitude of landmarks?i have had the FS series for the past four years and just discovered the map view which allows you to place lat. and lon. along with altitude. up until now all i was able to do was to slew around but that never gave an accurate placement of the aircraft.

Hi,I am using Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystick. Whatever the case, at times when I am piloting the plane, my throttle ... always when I push up and/or down, only one engine moves.Meaning to say, when I increase throttle, only my left engine throttle goes up, casing my plane to move right. Vice versa to the right engine.What cause the problem? A bug in the game or?Thanks in advance ...

I have been doing alot of flying around Europe lately. I keep running into a problem while flying in France and Belgium. My framrate drop to 1.0 and maybe will bounce all the way up to 2.3. This is the only area I have this problem. I have the problem on multiple aircraft. The only add on I have running is WXre. I have shut this off and still the problem persist. Can anyone tell me what might be going on and how I can fix it.Thanks Andrew

Hi,I really need help. All of a sudden, a number of my propeller planes in FS2002 (some default ones, like the Cessnas, and some 3rd party) became uncontrollable. If started already in the air (like in some default flights) they roll to the right and crash, totally unresponsive. If started in the ground, they still roll over to the right, immediately hitting the ground and crashing. When they are used as AI planes, I can see them swinging in the air, before freezing some meters above ground in awkward positions.Could this have been caused by some 3rd party plane or scenery I installed? As have many others, I've put a lot of time and effort into customizing FS 2002 AI traffic identity and behavior using Traffic Tools, AFCAD, and other utilities. I've read that ACoF will be compatible with FS2002 add-ons, but I've also seen that AI and ATC will be improved.Perhaps I need to learn better how to search the archives, but I've not found this question addressed. Will my traffic.bgl file and/or component files be transferrable as well?I realize that this question is being asked in regards to a program in alpha stages, so I'm really just curious if anyone's heard about it, not seeking a definitive answer.Thanks,Kevin

Hey all,I was wondering if you can direct me to some recommendations for recording video of flight sim in action. From what I understand, I need a video card with S-Video out or a Composite video out fed into a VCR or other recording device. The other option is a video card that captures the video directly. Do you have suggestions on what card to look into. I want one that will be able to record with favorable frame rates in the 20-30 range. I want to activate mesh-, landclass- and airport-sceneries in FS2K2.In which order do I have to put them in the scenery library? Which scenery must have priority 1 etc.

I installed the EAA fly in form the Microsoft site and installed it according to the instructions. Started FS and lost aircraft texturesand noticed that I could not see my aircraft when looking down in spot view. It dissapeared in the mesh. Also in the VC, the bottom of the panel was gone. I uninstalled it and everything worked ok. Any one else seen this with this scenery? I would like to use some other scenery and am kind of dissapointed. This was my first try at new scenery.

Sorry, but I can't believe that I lost my second HD within 3 month! One thing is for sure, no more IBM HD for me.Now on to my real problem, I found almost every flightsim Addon on some backups but not my Simubuild A340-600.
