Hi!I've been flying around over oceans and lakes and I've found that the way the water textures rotate from bumpy waves one second to smooth glass the next can get somewhat irritating. I'm certain that the water would look 1000 times better if there was no animation, ie the water simply remained bumpy.The breakers at the beaches can stay, but I think if the water simply remained bumpy without the rotational animation everyone would have a much better simulation experience (in my opinion).I propose a challenge:To find a way to stop the water from animating and simply remain in a bumpy or semi-bumpy state.Anyone who accomplishes this will be in my good books forever!Thanks…

I was thinking about buying the Alert! Pro program. It 1) generates random failures, 2) monitors different system tolerances, and 3) adjusts braking conditions.I can't find though a review of the product, or any discussion about it. Their forum on their website (www.flytechsoft.com) is also very quiet.Is anyone using it? Is it worth 20 Euros?PapaTango

Hi! Can anyone tell me if Aeti's ProFlight 2000 will work with FS2002 (as is)? If not, is there a patch available somewhere that will make it work with FS2002? Is there another product like PF2000 that will? Thanks!

I just got my new TrackIR II. I had a TrackIR and loved it but just sold it off on eBay when TrackIR II came out. Anyway got it today, but started getting a runtime error of some sort with the drivers that came on the CD! So I try to go to the NaturalPoint.com website to see if I can research the issue or get another driver but its not coming up for me. Is anyone else having issues getting to the TrackIR website at naturalpoint.com? Anyone else get these issues with their TrackIR II as far as runtime error?Happy Simming!

All Flight1 Meridian users (and of course, Michael - who's probably one of the most knowledgeable of this AC) -I just installed the FS2004 Flight1 Meridian free upgrade from FS2K2.All I can say is that although my FPS are about the same,the overall smoothness is actually BETTER in FS2004. Usually, most of my previous FS2K2 AC fly no better in FS2004 (and most are a bit less in FPS performance). However, the Meridian upgrade is actually smoother/faster/better.Anyone else notice this?JerryG

I'm using Lonny Payne's excellent 757 with the excellent POSky 757 VC version.As usual, I took the panel.cfg that came with the panel, opened it, and added the VC lines. Hi all, Anyone have an opinion on how the Realair Decathlon compares to the freeware one that came out just a little while ago. About 28 years ago I flew a real life Decathlon and the freeware version seems too frisky from what I remember but it was a long time ago. I already have the SF .260 and love it. Is it worth having both from Realair or is the freeware Decathlon good enough? Jon

I don't know what my problem is, OR if it's my problem. In the past week I have had problems downloading from AVSIM that I never have had before.One aircraft file seemed to download >I tried 3 TIMES< alright BUT there was nothing in the aircraft folders 0 Kbs.I tried again today on a different aircraft file. The download seem to complete normally. BUT I couldn't open the compressed folder and the folder had 1.7 MB in the properties tab. I tried Winzip and it said that the archive wasn't complete and try downloading again.On an 11 MB file it takes about 55 min. to download @56K. That's an hour that was wasted to find out the file is not complete. My windows ME explo…

I have installed Lonny Payne's 757 Panel. I have installed all the files and updates in order including the fs20004 update. I started with V1.0, then Update 1.1, 1.2 Gauge update 1 & 2, then the 2004 update. I can load the aircraft that I have assigned the panel to, but as soon as I try to bring up the panel I get a black display and FS9 crashes, stating that there was a fatal error and znewpfd.gau was involved. I have tried everything and I still can not get this panel to work. Any Help would be appreciated.

I've just purchased the SSW Airbus A310, got my activation code straight away (after reading the FAQ on their forum), however when I try to access the registered-user's area, I'm not prompted for an login, or anything, I just end up on an empty page with a log-out link. :-hmmmI wanted to raise this issue on their forum, and applied for access, but have not yet received my password (I applied about 6 hours ago).Have any other SWW owners encountered this 'issue' ?Cheers:-waveSatchmo

What was a civil discussion of the facts barely a few hours ago has now magically disappeared, no doubt nipped in the bud by the moderators, as has happened with so many other threads like it in the past. Firslty apologies if I'm posting in the wrong forum.I'm experiencing lately strange behaviour in FS9 with Barometric Pressure with Captain Sim's 727 when running with real weather conditions.The only other addon I have is PMDG 737 which gives me no problems whatsoever.What's happening is...I'm sitting on the runway to takeoff in Captain Sims 727. Outside weather is Low pressure, rain and lightning.Altimeter is indicating -1000ft !! for the runway. Then it magically starts increasing till after a minute or so the altimeter is now reporting 10000+ ft !!??!!This is only occuring in this one addon ??I've reinstalled Fs9. Just got XP and 04 installed and running over the last couple of days... Ran into a weird one this morning though. Whenever I shut down the game, it would crash out, and want to send all my "vital information" to M$ Anyways, I was using the downloadable non static weather, but had forgotten to check off download winds aloft button... for some reason this caused FS9 (weather.dll) to crash out when closing.Don't know if anyone else has experienced this or not, but it was a quick/easy fix luckily!Chris

Hi...- I have to adjust my engine sound too low to be able to hear ATC sounds (engine 20, ATC 100), anyway to make the ATC osunds louder ?- Is there a way to get ATC window opening only when the message if for my aircraft ? I have an 800mgz Celleron, 256 meg, and 11 mg video. With FS2k2, I fly only single engine props. Even with sliders all the way to the right, thick clouds, and Radar Contact running, I can get at least 5 frames per second on takeoff and landing in all but the busiest skies. That's really good enough for me. I'm not picky.I'm thinking about getting FS2K4 because I would get the enhanced ATC and GA traffic in and out of uncontrolled airports. I know I'll have to move the sliders over to the left. But can I get visuals at least as good as I get with FS2k2 with my computer? From the many posts on the quality of FS2K4, I know I won't get better visuals with my system. B…

Hi,I'm still using a GeForce 3 graphics card and heavy cloud cover affect my frame rates. I decided to make an experiment, writing file names on each cloud texture to see which are most widely used. Much to my surprise, FS2004 seems to use only one file (except cirrus)!! That would be Cumulus01.bmp.
