Hello all, I have been looking at all kinds of websites and reviews in order to decide between a FX5600 card or an ATI 9600 for FS2004. Both would be 256 Mb. I read some reports that say that the Nvidia is better. SOme others say that the ATI is better. I have seen reviews using a thousand programs and games. At the end, I'm even more confused that I started. And now I don't know what to do.Some are concerned about ATI's flicker. Others say it is truly superior.Anyone could help this poor soul, please?I'd appreciate facts in relation to these cards and FS2004. I need it for a dedicated PC for FS2004 on a P-IV 2.4 with 1Gb DDR333 RAM. I just want someone eho has seen the…

Hello interested parties,Sean has just posted a batch of minor service patches at RealAir. The fixes are in four categories:1. For those people experiencing engine start problems there are patches for both Decathlon and Sf260.2. We've optimised (we hope) force feedback issues on both aircraft. I am grateful to James Gallagher who very kindly and quickly tested these new Force Feedback codings and reports they work fine. Thanks very much James!3. An inexcusable gaff - we forgot to point to the Decathlon ref and checklist inflight. This has now been fixed with a small patch.4. For users reporting problems seeing the canopy windows clearly - mainly with older Geforce 2 and s…

I was wondering what MAG meant when it refers to the wind speed that you see on the top of the screen when you press shift Z, eg..30 MAGIs it measured in miles per hour, kilometers per hour, or knots? No matter what international unit of measure I have set, it is always listed as MAG.

Anyone out there know how to import Beechcraft KingAir E90 from FS2002 into FS2004 and have ALL the gauges work? 2004 will not accept some of the gauges. Thanks and don't hit any low flying turkeys.

Apologies for taking up Avsim bandwidth on this, but if any one knows Charles Pearson, FS2002 SF260 user, or if you are browsing here Charles, please turn off your spam or other e-mail blocker. You keep requesting your upgrade and we keep sending it, but your mail bounces back as a permanent error every time.Or try contacting us from a different e-mail address.Thanks.Rob Young = RealAir Simulations

My FS2002 has always behaved.Suddenly it has developed a problem, i.e.when I open at an airport,in Cockpit View there is no dashbord nor instruments to be seen, only a window open on the tarmac. All other views (Spot,Tower etc.)are OK. The problem occurs with all aircraft.Clearly the program isn't loading those parts. What am I to do (hopefully not to reinstall FS2002)?Thanks.Viking

Happy THanksgiving Everyone!I recently purchased an XFX nVidia GeForceFX 5600 256M video card, and overall I'm pleased with its performance, except with one issue. I fly using full screen mode most of the time, and when I call up the kneeboard, I cannot scroll the contents. The display within the kneeboard basically freezes except for the bottom 1/4" or so, which does scroll. If I run in windowed mode, this issue goes away, but I get sound "sputtering" - the display is smooth but the sound gets choppy.I'm running the 52.16 drivers, if that makes a difference. Can anyone help me to solve either of these issues? Thanks in advance!Mark

I always liked the look of the water in FS2002 -- of course, there are all kinds of water - lakes , rivers, oceans. But I was happy with all of them. But FS2004 just looks wrong. I see small rivers which a bright aqua colour like the Carribean, I see other colours that are just plain wrong!!I know that there are addons for FS2004 that deal with water reflections and wave heights, etc -- but what about the basic colours of water all over the world. What water settings are people using?Barry

Who can help?I payed for the europe-mesh-download, got the Email with my account, logged in, got the permission, tried to download and received this message:"forbidden! You don't have permission to access /products/eudem76/full/eudem76web.exe on this server."What is the reason? Does anybody has an idea?Sorry, I would have liked to ask this question to FSGenesis. But there is no possibility to do that, not any possibility to get in contact with them, no email-address, nothing else... As a customer, I have never made this frustating experience...Buffi (EDDH)

I recommend the sky textures by Nils Danielson. The default FS2004 sky textures colour are ridiculously oversatureated and make the sim look like a cartoon. I live in Australia -- the home of blue skies -- and the only way you see a blue sky as blue as that FS2004 has is in a photo taken with a UV lens - not in real life.Nils new textures tones the blue down to a much more realistic level.Barry

Does anyone know where I could find a freeware Cessna 208 caravan download without that stupid baggage hump on the bottom? I've seen the plane without it and it's quite a sharp plane. Thanks

I usually don't have a lot of time to fly on VATSIM, so I am wondering which is the fastest turboprop airplane currently in service by airlines? Dash 8? ATR?Also, is Boeing 747 the fastest jetliner?Talking about in optimal cruise altitudes.

I admit Im not a long-duration kind of guy. My longest flight in about 2 years of simming was a night flight from Chicago to LA in a MelJet 777, but I have a wife and kids, so I dont always get as much continuous time in the air as I wish. I do lots of 1-2 hour flights around the coastal Southeast and Europe. I did doze off one time on a hop in a AA Fokker 100 from Tampa to Cancun and found myself at FL34 over darkest central mexico without a clue where I was.So how bout it. What's your longest flight without stopping?BTW: Setting autopilot to follow a GPS heading, then going to school or work and coming home 8 hours later to land doesnt count. Gotta be in the building, i…
