A Little help from the experts please. Have chance to upgrade my current GF3 Ti200 to ATI 9800/non pro. Have read all the reviews and since this card is being advertised in my area at a great price thinking of making the jump. Have to say getting pretty good performance from the old GF3 with everything maxed out, but looking for faster loads and reduced "blurries" at a distance. Overall image quality an issue. If dont see big improvement with my system it may not be worth the effort.... Whenever I download a file (aircraft addon, scenery, etc.) and save it to a file, the file that I have downloaded appears as a zip. file instead of a file folder. This means that I cannot view the contents of the file that I had just downloaded, which is something I need to be able to do if I want to add an aircraft to FS2002. When I try to open the file, my computer tries to open the file using a program such as Windows Media Player. If anyone has any idea how to fix this problem please let me know. Thank you in advance.

If you have not yet downloaded and installed the new textures recently uploaded to the file library, I urge you to do so asap. They ae terrific visual improvement. And, here's a big public thank you to their creator, Steve Kempf...job well done, Steve!Sherm

Well, it looks like PSS pulled support for the FS2004 update to the Airbus (which is fine, their a fine group no matter what anyone says, I think this proves it since their trying to get things perfect), but I can't find the panel.cfg changes that I've seen mentioned. I've totally started anew, installing a fresh Airbus, then added the update. Anyone that can post what needs to be done to get this Airbus working?Thanks,

Hi, everyone. All of a sudden, I have no AI traffic, ever. I have AI traffic set to 100%, but no matter what sort of flight I set up, I'm the only plane in the world. Start a flight at 4pm Friday at O'Hare, and I have it all to myself. Any suggestions as to how to get it back?Richard

When I fly into a new area, sometimes clouds just "pop up" instead of a smooth transition, first appearing in the distance and then growing in size as the aircraft approaches the system. I thought smooth weather transitions was a feature of FS2004. I'm using FSUIPC 3.12 and ActiveSky. Many thanks for any ideas/assistance, Rudi Hiebert

I am a new novice user and am trying to install MS Flight Simulator 2004 on a PC with Windows XP. Installation proceesds well then asks that the simulator be restarted and "Load FS2004 Disc 4" appears Have tried all 4 installation discs without sucess.Can anyone point me in the right direcction ?Robert

I'd like to try Steve Kempf's colourised textures but as they come with a handy installer I'm not sure which files they overwrite. I'd like to back up the originals in case I don't like them or even as was the case with a recent cloud texture, don't work. Can anybody tell me which files are affected? I could always email Steve Kempf direct but I suspect there may be other people with this question.John

I downloaded a airport scenery for Lyon France, and the numbers that are on the tarmac that show the gate numbers flash. Is there a way to stop the flashing? The scenery is for FS2002 (for now)

Hi everyoneI know this is a bit off topic in this forum, I posted in the hardware one too but people don't seem to check that one very often.I bought the Logitech Z680 digital speakers and I have an Audigy 2 zs standard card. The speakers came with regular analog wires even though they're digital speakers. I want to get the full digital ability out of them. The audigy 2 zs card has a digital out jack. I was wondering if someone could please suggest a specific type of cable to get to run digital sound from the speakers thru the card and if possible where I can find them. Thanks a million!Jason

Question: What key toggles the fps counter - many thanks

In FS2004 I get reasonably good frame rates 15-20 all of the time except when I land. If I fly around for a long time and then land frame rates drop to 1fps! The system doesn't completely lock up and gets back to normal once the aircraft stops moving. Freezing wings can cause many problems to planes or motors ect.Is this modeled ie when flying thru very cold freezing weather and clouds?If not is there an add on program that models this?I just bought ALert Pro and is a great program modeling many pilot failures during flight as engine damage by using full power for too long, surfaces damages when flying too fast,gear and flaps gets damaged when deploying too fast ect , this adds a lot to the flight because now you have to fly in the plane limits

Emabarrassingly, I can't get the addon textures to show up on my Posky a330 models. I install the texture file to the A330 aircraft folder, update the aircraft.cfg file with the new data, using the next number in sequence, but when I try to select the aircraft from the selection menu, the name of the new texture appears in the dropdown box, but the picture box is blank. Am pulling my hair out over this one!! Is there something glaringly obvious I've missed??Whats the difference between the SATCOM and NO SATCOM configutrations?Help appreciatederich

Would anyone like to confirm or dismiss this ? I have kept getting the same weather the last 5 days, so im just curious if its my computer or Jeppesen server. At ENGM i have wind 065 at 10 visibility 5 miles temperature/dewpoint 0/0, this hasnt changed the last 5 days or so, i also checked other aiports and the weather wont update, but remains the same. If anyone would bother to check out and see if they get different results it would be appreciated, thanks.

I attended an open day at a flying school in Melbourne yesterday and when I walked in the door, one of the instructors was demonstrating FS2004.To my great surprise, MELBOURNE - my home town - was a featured city (whereas in the past is was not...Sydney was and probably has always been of course) but I only got a quick 10 second view before we started talking about courses etc. etc.I've already downloaded a 3rd party version of Melbourne for FS2002 some time ago but would like to compare it to Microsoft's version in FS2004 before going and buying it.So in other words, I was just wondering if any generous people out there might post some screen shots for me so I can get an…
