On my computer recently, i tried to start flight sim and half the time it quits responding and the other half it starts up and the frames per second are less than 2 ......It just started , I looked on the flight sim website support but I couldnt find anything. I also reinstalled but it still happens. I havnt changed anything on the computer or in flight sim, one day it just started. Matt

I have got the impression, rightly or wrongly, that AVSIM has clamped down on posts which generally kick developers in the teeth. If fact, I even wonder if we are allowed criticism of a constructive nature at all now.We recently saw threads about PSS removed from this forum which, although I did not read them in detail as I was not really interested, I gathered were highly critical of that company. Hi,When a add-on scenery creator says that his scenery should be on a scenery level higher than a certain default one what this really means?For example, if in my scenery.cfg I have his scenery at, say, Layer=63 and the default he mentions is at Layer=25, I think I have to move up that add-on scenery to, say, Layer=20. Can someone kindly offer suggestion for caribbean-specific replacement textures for FS2004? When landing at St. Croix the scenery appeared to be no different from that landing at a mid-latitude airport: cultivated fields, deciduous trees (maybe one or two palm trees), etc.Many thanks for your ideas and suggestions.

While I was doing my LH Cargo flight from Fairbanks to Incheon and was cruising over northeastern Siberia in the early morning I noticed these two strange "craters" somewhere around Magadan, I believe (forgot to write down the approximate coordinates, unfortunately). Anybody know what these are all about? Over the past few days I've tried out two different add on autopilots for helicopters in FS2004. To keep things fair I have checked both pilots in the same aircraft. The results are worth passing on.For the purpose of the comparisons I have used the Erickson Skycrane(S-64) altho I have tried the autopilots in other helos as well.The two autopilots tested were the EasyAutopilot by Martin"Gizmocat" Benson and the HAPHUD by Tom Woods.Both appear to be based to some extent on the work of Antti Pankkonen as found in his AS365.My main concern in testing was what kind of effect the autopilot would have on performance( Frame rates )As said above I used the same aircraft for…

I've been wanting to give up many times, but the desire to fly, even if sitting in front of a monitor, is too strong.This is why I've desperately tried every possible tweak, inside and outside of the sim, to make things work. I still find many issues have not been resolved and probably never will be, but for the sake of flying I've just decided to get over most of them. A quickie here, if there happen to be any RW airline guys out there.I'm wondering if jet or heavy turboprop rated pilots will fly more than 1 type of aircraft (assuming they are type-rated for each applicable machine) in a given rotation. When I flew commercially, it was mainly Beavers, Otters and 185's, and in any given day, I could end up flying any/all machine(s) on a moment's notice. However, the bigger machines are much more complicated (duhh ;-) ), and so I was wondering if any one pilot might end up doing a 737-200 run to Point B, and then (the next day/week/whatever) pick up a 727 run to Point C.Many thanks for the help here guys.

Having trouble with altitude settingAfter setting altitude and vertical speed ( In the main window above the turn coordinator)I am unable to get the aircaft to respond after the data switch has been activatedSo far I have tried turning the elavtor trim on and off and switching on the altitude hold mode In the Bendix( with the auto pilot switch on 1st and 2nd stages, etcThe only way I can achive altitude hold Is by switching on the altitude hold mode, which will successfully hold the aircraft at the altitude that I happen to flying atSo what am I doing wrong with the the settings from the main panel? any help would be appreciatedThanksBryan

I have decided to make the Jump from FS2002 to FS2004 my question is since I have over 150 sceneries for my flight sim and alot of planes with FS2002 panels will I beable to use them with FS2004 or do I have to start all over.Thanks

Do some sim users employee cheater tricks in or with flight sim? I mean especially in multiplay? I recently met a new multiplay player online. He wanted to fly multiplay mode but appeared to be taking control of my aircraft. Suddenly the aircraft would turn 90 degrees on the runway by applying the brakes. Slew mode would jump on for no apparent reason.I was suspicious because this user wanted to play dodgem with the airplane more than fly it. His forte was real play, but not real flying.Thanks but I sure would like to be briefed about this.

Hello All,I've noticed that different flight models respond very differently to the same degree of turbulence set in FS2004. For example, the Carenado Centurion bumps around realistically in light-moderate turbulence, as I would expect in the real plane, while the new RealAir Decathalon (certainly as good or better a flight model) is what I would consider unrealistically steady in the exact same wind settings. I would expect that, in reality, A Decathalon would have at least as bumpy a ride as a 210, probably even more so. Is there a way to adjust the way a plane "bumps around" in the aircraft.cfg? Hi Flt Simmers,At the moment I have a 30Gb harddrive C and it is getting full!(Flt Sims)Just bought a Maxtor 80Gb Drive 7200rpm ata133...Just want to know if it is possible to transfer my FS2002(using that at the moment!! :)) to the NEW drive together with the OS?The reason being that I have alot of PAYWARE sims and don't want to redownlaod and get a new KEY for those sims again.Thinking of partitioning the new drive so I can run BOTH FS2002 & FS2004. Just want to say that I've been flying the Real Air Decathalon for about 2 days now. I've had the Marchetti 260 since it was first introduced. These two planes are MUST HAVES! They are very different in their dynamics and in their "fun factors". The Decathalon is one SWEET plane. The views, the dynamics, and the VFR capabilities are something you should not miss. IF you are an avid MSFS pilot....get the Decathalon if you can. You won't be disappointed. Stan
