This is my first post after a year off and I know this is old news, but the new Citation II is exactly what I wanted! I've been drooling over this thing and I am one of the rare breed that likes no VC's (not really concerned if YOU have to have them or not) and a framerate friendly model. So I am really happy, I've flown nothing else since!I don't know if this a/c was a team effort, if it is, you team members are also idol worthy! I especially like the wing views. Hello, Using FS2004 on a NVIDIA MSI FX5900 (non ultra) with 52.16 drivers, 1GB RAM, Intel P4 [email protected]. Win XP PRO. Antialiasing works very well at 4xS (much better than 4x) and 1280x1024x32 with 17-23 FPS at full detail with ZERO jaggies, perfect image, but inside clouds the frames drop very low, 5 or 6 FPS, unflyable. I used the cessna grand Caravan and default scenery, no add-ons. I have tried several configurations, optimizations, tweaks, HT enabling/desabling/affinity trick, XP tweaking, overclocking the video card, etc. and the problem always appear when flying with dense clouds. I also played with the FS9.CFG settings with no results. Tried the replacement cloud …

Has anyone else noticed a sudden squall of really knock-out beautiful freeware aircraft lately? This last week has been a fantastic time to have a broadband internet connection! I mean, c'mon -- LOOK at this stuff! We've got a crop of great Russian aircraft (Tu-154 and An-24), some great bush flying (Bill Lyon's new Cubs for FS9 and the Maule M7 -- both with tundra wheel options!), and even a new whirlybird with Jordan Moore's UH-60 Blackhawk. The only problem I'm having is finding time to try them all out. I guess I'm just excited because the addition of really workable and great looking virtual cockpits is finally catching on. Hi,When I fly at dusk and at night, I've got some displaying problem with certain textures. For instance, the clouds are funny and look like Disney ones (ugly grey colour) ; they don't look real at all. I've got the impression that I'm flying with FS98 ! In addiction to that, I've got some white patches on the ground with night textures. When I fly close to them, the white patches disappear and the terrain look more real. Can anyone tell me what the following letters on the throttle console mean?APRTOMCTMCRAlso reading the checklist it states to push the trottles to TO when taking off which is what I figured what TO meant so is that to say you dont push the throttles all the way to APR during intial take off roll?NP

Could anybody kindly explain to me the function of the 2 water sliders in FS2004. Frankly, in using them, I can't see much difference onscreen.I have a Geforce4TI4200 128 meg vid card.I notice that I can put the "efects" slider to HIGH -- but cannot put both sliders to high.Thanks for any advice Barry

After landing in Phoenix from Las Vegas using an FS2004 flight plan, I cleared the flight plan and saved the flight. When I selected the saved flight the next day and loaded another flight plan, the ATC window displayed "Turn on progressive taxi" and that was all!! I was not able to get a clearance yet alone taxi instructions!!! What did I do wrong? Why didn't the flight plan get loaded?Thanks!Airbus

Hi Guys,What's the general consensus on AA? I have been experimenting the last few days by turning off FS AA, and using my Nvidia Gforce 5900 Ultra (256mb). I have set the card to 4x which seems to best match the FS version. Prior to this, I had my card set for application control. I'm currently using the 52.16 drivers.I have seen improvements on framerates, and it has improved the 2d panel issue with the default 737. There are some strange screen redraws when using the FS drop down menus while in cockpit view, but so far no damage.I'm assuming it's different for everyone, but was wondering if there was a general feeling out there.Thanks in advance,JD

I was browsing the Mooney's aircraft.cfg just now and noticed that it has the propeller_blades value set to 4, but the Mooney only has 3. Is this a typo or could there be a reason for it?

Hello,I can't get FS9 running with my AIW 9800Pro. Since a couple of days, FS9 crashes to the desktop after 4 or 5 minutes. It was not stable before but now it is getting worse. I am really suspecting my videocard to overheat as it seems really hot when touching it with my hand. I have catalyst 3.9 installed.1- how can I check the videocard temperature?2- what are the hardware/driver settings that would minimize the temperature?3- how can I improve the cooling of the videocard?MerciMichel

I want to reduce the amount the seat lowers and raises when pushing Shift- +/-I know in FS2002 there was something in one of the .cfg's that would reduce this factor.Thanks in advance.Adam

OK, Im sitting here with an AMD 1800 that clearly doesn't get it with FS 2004. And I'm waited for something better in the way of new hardware. Then I read here of people with the best of the best right now, not always getting top results. I have an average computer system for todays standards-an athlon 2100, Geoforce 4 ti4200, 512 k ram-fsgenesis mesh and ultimate traffic add ons. For my basic setup I run just about everything in fs maxed out at 1600 32 bit resolution.I think we all dream of the perfect system (and perfect tweaks) that will allow everything run to the max at great performance. I am familiar with the AirEd mod to change the line 105 so that the AI planes are flyable. My question is if I have an aircraft that I have modified to flyable (0 not 2 in line 105) will that aircraft still be OK to use as an AI plane in a flightplan? Thanks, regards, Bob.

Does anyone know how to fix the problem with the landing lights not being visible from the cockpit (and virtual cockpit)? I am aware from some of the topics on this forum that not all aircraft have visible lights from the cockpit, but now I realize that for some reason I can not see ANY landing OR taxi lights from the cockpit (or virtual cockpit) from ANY of my aircraft, even the default ones; I used to see these in the past, but now, for some reason I cannot.Has anyone experienced this before?
