For about a month now, I have been having a problem downloading real weather ... it usually quits between 65 and 85% downloaded ... just stops and nothing happens. In about 1 out of 10, I get all the way through. I am using dialup and running a speed of 38.4. Is there a timeout function on the Jepperson site, if so, is there a way around it. Also, any ideas on what could have "slowed me down?" I'm running a new Dell, max ram, etc. I do have Norton's firewall, but turning it on/off doesn't seem to matter. It looks like I'm timing out the server on the other end.Any suggestions would be helpful.Thank youDoug

Hello everyone! Why is it that with certain aircraft from specific designers one can't see the wings when looking outside, i.e. back/left or right? Example: POSKY-a/c's. Is there any way one can configure the model/cfg in a way that this is so? Thanks for any help ...CF

Hello,I prefer flying in full screen mode where I get around 60fps, low detail. However if I fly in windowed mode I can easily get an extra 15 fps.Can anyone tell me why this is; and if I can get the same fps from full screen as windowed.Thanks

What exactly is TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT in the FS9 CFG file. I imagine it can be adjusted dependent upon memory configurations. I would like to know what would be the optimal setting. Any ideas?

Hi, there.i have experienced a problem with the VHHH scenery created by Thomas Kwong. The two runways are always above the ground no matter what.The elevation of the two runways are higher than the ground texture...anybody got any problems like this and any solution to solve it? Hello there...I'm pretty certain I've solved the runway "bouncies" mystery that seems to have plagued many MSFS users, including myself. This phenomena occurs when switching from the 2D cockpit viewpoint to the Tower or Spot viewpoint, and usually only happens once or twice until the plane "settles" down. However once you've moved your position and switched views, invariably this will occur again. Also, upon moving down the runway on takeoff or rollout, when the viewpoint has been switched, the aircraft will most times "bounce" the landing gear with lots of tire smoke. Avsim has a product announcement on the front page today promoting new water textures for FS2004 from Flight One Software. They are charging $15 for water texture sets we can get for free, all of which are textures based on Bill Lyons' freeware water reflection textures.I'm sorry but this is a classic example of a commercial entity seizing upon a freeware creation/discovery and trying to cash in - it really irks me. Sometimes corporate greed is unbelievable, sheesh.

Hey gang,I'm running the XP SP2 with absolutely no problems except here at Avsim's library. No matter what setting I change, I get that annoying Pop-Up right below the address bar that makes me choose to download the file. What in the heck does a guy have to do/change to get rid of that annoyance? Only happens in the Avsim library, and nowhere else. Hi all just wanted to know people's opinions on the best combination as far as FDE to use with the IFDG A320 and pSS panel-Ihave tried Pedro oliviera FDE but I get the aircraft rolling side to side as i climb higher. is there a way to cure this or is it best to use the PSS fde with the IFDG textures,etc and what mods have to be done_i want the most realistic FDE within FS9 limitations...thanks guys

hello folks out there im wanting to send a flight video to a virtual airlines to join, and after doing the short flight recording, i went to my documents/my simulator files and tried to view the files in windows media player and it will not play, it say windows will not play file because it does not support the format.how do i view these vid files.Thanks...........Robert

I have great idea on a new flight simulator. You would purchase it for about $60 and all it would do is just install an icon on your computer, that is all. Then just wait a while and other companies would come along and offer scenery, planes, nav aids, textures and everything else you would want for a simulator. A few months later and few thousand dollars, Wooolahh! You have the simulator you always wanted. Think it has a chance of flying?

For those who have upgraded to more then 1 GIG of RAM. Have you noticed a difference in Frame Rate and performance of FS2004?

If anyone is thinking about purchasing the CH yoke and rudder pedals, i would recommend them. My dad just purchased them for me for my 30th birthday. I found them extremely helpful in holding headings, altitudes, attitudes and flying approaches. Seeing that I all the real airplanes I fly have a yoke and not a joystick, it is almost next to the real thing without leaving my house. I have been instrument rated for about eight months. Now, it feels more realistic when i practice flying approaches down to the minimums.Damon

I have a stupid question about FS2004 and the 2D instrument panels. I'm a licensed private pilot flying C172's (R & SP models), and have decided that I am going to start working on an instrument rating in a couple of weeks. I'm planning on making uses of flight sims at home as much as possible so I can practice while I'm not having lessons. Anyway, I know the animation of the 2D panel instruments in FS2004 for the C172 is not very fluid... Kind of jerky, if you know what I mean. For that reason I'm planning on using X-Plane a lot because of the smooth instrument animation. But, I was just wondering if there was, by any chance, a way to improve the instruments in…

i would like to see a stand alone product that one could completely customize that would simulate a complete airline dispatcher, with a dispatcher report and everything, could be random, or random within limits etcif someone would write a program like that id buy it!ciao!Brian S
