After selecting real weather with 15 minute updates, the accompanying description always says 50 miles visibility. Does anyone else notice this?

In the latest issue of Computer Pilot magazine, they give a tip to change the system settings in WIN XP from program to system cache. I tried it and my aircraft textures begin to disappear. I have heard others since then warn to NOT do this. Any idea what this setting does?

I have the newer version of the Olbia (LIEO) scenery and whenever I fly to the airport my AI is sunk into the ground, but when I fly from the airport my AI is just fine. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hello all, I used to be a regular around here but after my computer was destroyed, I was kick off the habit. Luckily for me I have finally got myself a new "ride". FS is runnin pretty smooth and I am relatively happy. I'm running an Athlon 2200 with 512MB ram and a GeForce FX 5700LE and Windows XP Pro. I get good frames every flight except in heavy clouds. Now when it slows in the clouds it stays at a consistant choppiness, which leaves me to believe the graphics card is at fault. So here are my questions.1) Is my graphics card causing the problem with my low cloud FPS, and what would be a card for me to consider if this is the case?And now a random question :)How can I…

I have many sceneries installed in my FS2004 and I try to keep them organized by country. However, I discovered recently that I had a stand-alone scenery folder for a place I had originally titled "Matching Green" for which I seem to have misplaced the associated zip file including documentation. Thus I don't know a country. Does anyone recognize where Matching Green is located? It sounds like it logically should be in the United Kingdom or Australia or New Zedaland or even Canada but I just can't find it anywhere in the simulator's airport menu - most likely because it may not be an airport per se. Any help would be appreciated.Stan V.

I currently use Norton, however i wanted to know if theres something better available which would either use very little resources OR easily shut down when not surfing the web thus freeing up the resources for games.Ive just tried Panda Platinum Internet Security (only because it seemed highly reccomended) and it installs 7 or 8 new services to my xp setup and adds an additional 11 running processes!..and this is AFTER shutting the friggen program down, LOL.After realizing that you no longer have to download a virus or click to execute an infected file...these days, just simply surfing the net and nothing more can leave you infected. has anyone been able to configure this latest upgade of the free zonealarm firewall 51.11 to allow FS multiplay? It does allow fsrelay, but will not give me the link in the FS multiplay screen. If this does not work, I can always go back to the previous zone alarm I was using. And, on the subject of firewalls, what is your opinion of using zonealrm (free version) rather than the xp firewall? Thanks!This ought to spark some good discussion..Sherm

Hi - apologies if this is a simple question, but I've only been flying with FS9 for a few weeks and I'm still learning...I've been going through the lessons within FS9 and learning how to use the cockpit instruments on the Cessna. Now that I'm comfortable with VFR and IFR flight in the Cessna I've been branching out and trying some of the different aircraft included in FS9 - notably the LearJet. My problems come when I try to do instrument navigation and landings. I don't know how to use the instruments in the LearJet properly because they are so different from the Cessna, and I can't find any more training info which cover the non-Cessna aircraft.Rather than blindly fumb…

I have FS2004 installed, with many add-on aircrafts, sceneries and utilities such as flyby and FSUIPC.I usually fly in full screen mode, and everything works fine in this mode. Sometimes (when developing new gauges) I switch to windowed mode, and then FS crashes after I load 2 different aircrafts.I don't know where to search because everything works fine in full screen mode, so it appears that no add-on is faulty.Any idea?Thanks for any help !!Eric

In the FS9 CFG file under GRAPHICS section there is an entry that defined as "Texture_max_load." Mine is set at 1024. What exactly is this entry and it's effects on FS9?Thanks,Wilbert

Hello flightsim friends,I am nearing completion of the visual model for an American Aircraft Falcon XP. This was an experimental two seat tandem canard design sold from 1984 to 1989 by American Aircraft in New Mexico. I built number 218 (N218ZG) which was featured in the March 1988 issue of Sport Pilot which is the basis for this model. While I no longer own this aircraft I still keep in touch with its current owner so have his help in completing a very accurate visual and flying model. My homeairport is EHGG. In FS 2002 it had, as in real life, an ATIS service. In FS 2004 is doesn't have it anymore. I'm curious if anybody knows how I can manipulate FS 2004 to add ATIS to this airport. Anybody?Thanks,Herman leusman

Newbie here. This has probably been covered a thousand times, but I haven't found the thread yet. When flying the 777, it usually stalls on me around the 30,000 foot mark (I'm usually on autopilot at this point). EPR drops way down during the climb. I can get it up to cruise around 36,000 to 40k, but I have to do so at about 200 fpm climb and then when I get to cruise altitude, the plane flys with the nose pitched up several degrees while maintaining altitude. Is this a bug or just a stupid pilot?Also, I can't for the life of me get pushback to work properly. Specifically, hitting 1 or 2 has no effect on the tail movement.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've made my first ABL adventure. It is causing engine failure randomly from 1s to 29min after takeoff. With alternate ABL file, there is a random engine failure during takeoff roll too. I have a "general" idea on the difference between ISA and TAS and Ground Speed (obvious), but I was wondering if someone could explain in simple terms the difference amd relation between them.Also - if you're on a roll - the difference between TAT and SAT would be great too.Thanks,BobKMEM

I was wondering if anybody else has noticed with 2004 that certain 3rd party aircraft will loose some or all of their external and virtual cockpit textures, this especially happens at night.The only two third party a/c that dont are the C310 and C152 which I know were tested in 2004 so thats probably the reason.But the Carenado and the NAMCS YS-11 will loose textures or the aircraft will basically become transparent to where you can see right through it.My specs are P4 2.53, 512meg memory, Nvidia TI4400 using 44.03 drivers.Thanks,Sean

Hi... I have a problem with GaTraffic... it was working really well until I decided to try something... I converted all the planes I wanted as AI with the Make as AI feature... and deleted all the base aircraft so they wouldnt show up in the menu since I never fly them. Now, the only planes I get are the Learjet, the C208, and the C182, only one paint scheme of each. All the AI planes are selected to be used as AI, but they dont show up.
