Hello, I had installed a scenery into Fs2004 and had to do an un-install. I then re-installed this scenery so I looked and this scenery is listed twice in flight simulator. I had no idea how to go into flight sim. cfg. to remove the entire area so I downloaded and installed the utility that is found in your library that will automatically remove files and so forth. I used this and it worked to remove the doubling of these files. I finished flying my flight and later on I went back to flight sim. and see that these same 2 scenery files (London Gatwick) is back in the list again! and this has messed the scenery up. How do I go in and remove this without it showing up again?…

Hey guys,I have one main monitor (17" CRT) I use for viewing the 2D panels of aircrafts. I have a second monitor (15" TFT) to where I drag und drop navigational software addons like navigator, FMCs, GPS etc.Somehow I have bought some 3D VC only aircrafts, like PIC A320. I could not realy fly it, because I had to zoom in to read gauges, do things with FMC (MCDU) and up to play with overhead etc. When I had to move my view back to see forward, I had to zoom out again... All with ONE mouse cursor! Well I have my 360

I recently disassembled my CH Footpedals to repair a broken wire for one of the brakes. For what it might be worth, "Sandman" has an excellent post on disassembling and reassembling the unit on flightsim.com. I would recommend that you take a peek. The wiring configuration leaves something to be desired as I found three others which were very near the breaking point and repaired them as well. If your pedals get a lot of use and you have not had this experience yet, rest assured that YOU WILL!For some reason, releasing my parking brake works some of the time and does not at others. I can press the brake pedals several times and it will finally go off, but not on the first at…

  4. Unless I am mistaken, I have seen posts regarding copying or moving the FS9 Scenery folder to a separate harddrive for faster loading. Is there anything in the FS9.cfg, scenery.cfg or elsewhere which needs to be edited in order to access the scenery on the revised drive? If so where is it, and how should it be edited? What else needs to be done in order to access the relocated files? Is the scenery folder all that is relocated to that drive, or might any other files be applicable (i.e. aircraft, gauges, addon scenery etc.?)Thanks:RTH

AVSIM is pleased to announce the opening of the Simulation Resources Database. The database we have put in place is a robust, searchable system that will provide simulation enthusiasts, virtual pilots, commercial vendors and publishers, and anyone looking for a resource in simulation or in gaming, a handy and fast means of finding that elusive site or online resource. Do you have a favorite site or online document, or resource that you would like to share with your fellow community members? If so, you can easily add it to the database. Users can rate the importance of sites, and provide feedback that other users of the database can read. We think this database has the po…

Hi,Now, I don't want to start the whole payware vs freeware row up again, BUT, heres the thing. In the last few weeks we have been treated to some exceptional freeware, real top quality stuff, and very complete packages. These packages are becoming increasing well and professionally put together, take the documentation supplied with both the Chippie and the Galeb, real high quality stuff, in fact the quality of this documentation puts many payware products to shame. The main reason I buy payware is the completeness of the package, but with freeware authours giving us this complete quality what reason is there to get payware? What can the payware boys offer us now that we can'…

Hi there,As I have little time to play, I always want to fly on interesting routes (as far as landscape and approach is concerned), but I was sometimes short of ideas. So I decided to create a database where flight simmers can post their (short) flights ideas: http://www.fsdestinations.com. Among many information on the flight, each one includes the time expected to be spent gate to gate and a powerfull search engine allows virtual pilots to find the right kind of flight for them. It's more oriented for commercial flight flying IFR, but private and VFR is also possible. The database need to be populated, so everybody is welcomed to add his or her prefered flight.Regards.

Hello allI have a large collection of superb payware and freeware FS2004 aircraft which I no longer fly because I am concentrating on learning to fly just a few. However they are beautiful models and I would dearly love to have them permanently parked in specific places (not necessarily at a pre-defined gate) at several airports that I frequent. Ideally, I would like to convert them into scenery objects with little or no external visual quality loss. I would then be able to place the BGL wherever I wanted.Has anyone got any suggestions how I might approach this objective? Thanks in advanceDave

having been flying with the default loadout for so long and now trying lighter weights like only the pilot and one passenger and a quarter tank of gas, i'm finding the elevator trim doesn't seem to have as much effect as when the plane is fully loaded. in a traffic pattern at around 80 knots, trying to fly level, i've almost used all the trim so i have to add power. i don't remember having to do that as much when it was fully loaded. i used a bit of trim and that was that but with a lighter load i have to use alot mostly all of it to stay level at slow speeds. does that sound right? or should i be using more power and less trim? william

I was flying IFR from LFPG to RJAA and at around The Netherlands, my Boeing 747-400 suddenly read that it was 3000 feet higher than it actually was. Control ordered me to descend... Then a few seconds later, they ordered me to climb because I was "20 thousand" below my assigned altitude o.O The error also registered in my cockpit, and the autopilot tried to correct the problem by climbing as quickly as it could (it made it up to 50000 before stalling and cracking the aircraft from stress). This happened both of the times that I tried to fly this flight in an ANA repaint of the POSKY B744. I was running at 4x Simulation. I'm still very confused.

Just got back from vacation, and fired up the sim. Tried to do some flights in both the stock 182, and the Carenado Dakota, and both exhibited anemic performance.Tried some tests, and these were the results:Cleared all weather in FSUIPCTook off, and climbed to 500 feet.Full throttle, (25 in man. press)Prop control pulled back to 2100 rpmMixture set to peak egt, or just rich of peaklevel flight.THe Dakota would not get above 135 kts, and the 182 was pegged at about 126kts.Suggestions?? I want to try some realistic flights, and I need to have the planes performing to spec (143/145 kts cruise respectively)

I am not a programmer or painter, but I am impressed by all of the talent involved with this hobby. Would it be possible to write a program, maybe using an XML gauge, that would monitor the amount of time an aircraft is flown and over time weather the paint or make it look dirty?

I can tell you that one of the very best VFR checkpoints in the real world is a ski area (summer or winter). Sure would be cool if someone could superimpose a ski trail map in FS so we could see the trails. Landclass doesn't seem to pick up the mass deforestation ;-)David
