I'm using WOAI and I'm frustrated with one problem. The landing lights make the aircraft look like they're on fire upon approach and landing. I have REX textures installed which replaces the halo.bmp and makes the runways look decent, however, the AI look ridiculous. I've replaced the halo.bmp to the default just to test it out and the runway lights are gigantic. Can this be remedied? Using REX textures and still have decent lights all around? The fixes I found in search seemed to point to changing the halo.bmp (not gonna work with REX) or installing Shockwave lights.

  2. Hello folks, when Im flying during night times in FSX the NIGHT IS JUST TOO BRIGHT. With different versions of ENB I could more or less darken the night. Some versions even had pitch black nights. So my question is if there is any chance to adjust the night brightness with reshade especially in the MasterEffect file. I couldnt find a suitable option yet.. Thanks in advance Best regards Patrick

  3. I have been installing freeware scenery lately which utilizes object libraries from other sources. These libraries are added to Addon Scenery and then marked active in scenery.cfg. My question is, do these objects libraries consume memory, or VAS if the associated scenery area isn't loaded? Currently, I'm disabling them when I turn off the scenery, but several scenery areas use the same object library so it becomes difficult to determine what to turn on and what to turn off. Is it safe, memory-wise, just to leave all of the object libraries always on? Thanks, Ernie

I wonder if I could ask the community for some help on an odd and very annoying problem which has just appeared? When I set up my flight in FSX I adjust my time to suit, but when I am setting up my aircraft at the gate FSX suddenly reloads itself and switches back to the system time on my PC. I have tried checking and unchecking the "use system time for flight time" in the general menu in FSX but it makes no difference. I did have FS Real Time installed but removed it in case of a conflict. Made no difference. Anyone else experienced this? Kind regards JON GREEN

Yes, that's what I'm looking for. I want a light GA to do PURELY VFR (No GPS, No Garmin). Only me, ORBX, steam gauges, radios, transponder, and SkyVector I did research on the most common/known developers (Carenado, RealAir, IRIS, A2A, Aerosoft...). Nothing suits :( Is there a true freeware gem i am missing?

I just saw a video about the Headgear and am wondering if it has any promise for FSX. I know very little about it. Is it the same as Tracker IR ? Does it do more ? With the technology that we have today, I'm hoping that someone will come out with a big break through to enhance our experience even more, since ' As real as it gets ' is what we are always striving for. Wouldn't it be great if we had Google Earth street view at our airports ?

  7. Hi stphen i use the latest beta of opusfsi with P3d v3.1 and i noticed that i when in cruise altitude with my Pmdg Ngx, the visibility is always low.I was told in facebook post to disable the volumetric fog in p3d to get normal visibilty.I have both option enabled in p3d and opusfsi. Can you plz tell me what is going on, i don't want to lose the volumetric fog option, because it adds a lot of immersion to my flight sim. Best regards kais

  8. So I built a new pc and have a Skylake 6600k 3.5ghz oc'd to 4.4ghz, 8 gb ram, and a GTX 970 video card. Mods I have installed are: FTX Global and FTX Vector Active Sky Next Rex TextureDirect w/ Soft Clouds Steve's DX10 Fixer PMDG 777 FS2Crew PMDG 777 Pro ATC X All my graphics settings are maxed except for Complexity Scenery and Autogen Scenery and those are left at defaults. If I turn them up to full, I get VAS issues with the PMDG 777. The graphics just aren't that impressive as I see in some of these videos. Granted I don't have a mesh addon but even the cockpit doesn't really look at that crisp to me. Things I really want are: - Good…

Seeing some issues like textures missing, SDK problems, and other little things that make me want to run the REPAIR option on FSX diski #1. Question? Will any of my Addons be affected adversely? Will my ORBX scenery, Global, Vector, etc. still be there after a repair? Will I lose anything? I'd appreciate your knowledge before I pull the trigger. Stan

  11. I recently acquired the latest mission pack from STEAM, "Arctic Rescue" (20 missions). When looking at them I found that the flight (.FLT) files were "compiled/coded" and totally unreadable. This is something I've never seen before. However, if you run a mission and save it, the resulting flight file is normal! Has anyone seen this kind of flight file before? Cheers, eskil

I've been searching for updates/performance improvements to the default FSX autopilot but have not been able to locate anything. When I look at the autopilot section of aircraft.cfg files, it seems the basic control parameters that determine the autopilot flight performance are always essentially the same. It even seems the autopilots in the payware a/c I have are built using the same default FSX autopilot parameters in their aircraft.cfg files. As a result, despite looking like and simulating the operating modes of real world autopilot systems to some extent, the actual autopilot flight performance, such as the degree of "hunting" when intercepting and capturing a loca…

I just got the wilco 777 and had to adjust the wheel contact poinnts as front wheels wrere high and rear compressed, that went ok but the plane alwyas starts about 6 to 10 feet in front of the yellow parking line so is sometimes in building. Can this be adjusted and where . Be quicker then waiting for patch. Thanks

  18. Hello, I currently have the excellent Max Krause Mauritius Airport, however I am looking specifically for the island scenery itself, I know XFPR have done one, but sadly just for X Plane. I know there are some good ones like Maldives and Seychelles, hopefully one for Mauritius ( the island not the airport)

Can anyone provide some insight into whether or not any of the existing ATC addons has the capability to enhance the ATC experience of those of us who fly mostly VFR/bush routes? I fly mostly in the PNW/BC/Alaska area and almost always am involved in bush charter activities. I routinely use MCE. I am hunting for a ATC pgm that will give me a more realistic experience regarding the routine communications that commonly occur in connection with these types of flights. Maybe better sounds, more realistic syntax and mood, more information such as wx conditions, etc. I do not involve myself in VATSIM because I feel my flying activities do not really qualify as somethi…

Hi, I've been doing some research on how FSX performs and what it is doing when you are flying. I've used some software from Intel called Graphics Performance Analyzer, which captures 5 seconds of frames in FSX and tells me exactly what FSX is doing at the time. This is using DirectX 10. I used KJFK runway 4R for the maximum test, and Banff Alberta for the minimum test. I've taken note of the draw calls (CPU), as well as the pixel and vertex shader calls (GPU). It also lists the commands FSX uses in the bottom of each screenshot and how long it took to execute each task (individual, average and total). In the Engine 0 tab, everything above the dotted line is being re…

  21. I'm not usually like this, but I couldn't resist, this is hilarious! New in AIRBUS A320 - Family v2: External cockpit section Winglets 3D elements in the virtual cockpit: Window frame, pilot seats (Great!) Use 3D switch Gauges: Radar Height, Seatbelt, No Smoke (???) Light switches (Awesome) MFD's now very easy to read Flaps (Now we can land, awesome!) Flight dynamic with stall limit (Seriously?) Trim features (Nice!) Texture improvements Sound (What the...?!) New repaint Air Canada How we can be serious with this addon features when the feature list is a pure joke?! Even for 17e, I wouldn't touch this, default airplane sounds like a better idea…

  24. Hello everyone. I am experiencing a rather peculiar issue with FSX. Just for some background, I have the regular box version, SP1 and SP2 installed. My PC Specs are as follows: i7 4790k @ stock GTX 960SC 8GB DDR3 FSX is installed on a 1TB WD Blue I just built this PC in May, and have been slowly installing my addons, and purchasing new ones since that time. About a month ago I would say, I began experiencing an issue where during a flight, If I want to access a setting via the menu bar, once clicked, the menu selected will take 2-3 minutes to load. After that, once a button is selected, another 1-2 minutes for the task to be completed. I dealt with it for a while, bu…

I mainly fly rotary in FSX SE and was wondering instead of having random shakes and thumps could I set an 'adjustable bespoke' constant vibration that would be more familiar to flying helo's? Tanks in advance. For instance, I have a perfect constant vibration that would suit my needs when I carry out the 'test function' which allows the adjustment of frequency.
