Is there a way to change the background from the MS default, so that it blends? I've looked at ADE but the background doesn't show. Thanking you in advance Geoff Cox

This is a question for those of you flying the FeelThere ERJ regional jets. I purchased it last month and am finally getting into some VATSIM flying. I really like the aircraft, but keeping the throttle at a constant airspeed is beating me to death. There are points were, even in steady air, the airspeed bounces up and down. I'm finding it virtually impossible to keep proper airspeed during landing. I've seldom had that issue with the GA aircraft I fly. Any guidance, because I'm about to park it and start flying the 175/195, which I would rather not do just yet. Thanks, Ernie

Hi All, and good to see familiar faces in here, and So sorry about the loss of Tom A, he was a good man. Its been years since I've been in here and I am picking up the hobby again,but never lost interest. I Just installed FSX Steam Edition for a look see until I get my new computer next week. Slow Holiday deliveries. UGH. It doesnt actually look much different than FS2004. Just curious though, how backward compatible is FSX with FS2004, FS2002, FS2000 scenery and Aircraft. I really would love to reinstall my much reviewed Maxview Cessna 310, and hopefully update it as Im sure its antiquated by now. Any other suggestions for good VFR flights? Hello, Since few days, i have hard time to start FSX. The following msg appears "A simulator restart is required to apply ASconnect module configuration settings". Normally, i restart FSX once and it works but today i've restarted it few times before it works. Any idea?. Thank you.

I see that FSLabs have released their FSL Spotlights product as a try-before-you-buy... has anyone tried it yet? It looks promising... (I am waiting for their A320-X as well).

Storms this morning in Atlanta, so I thought it would be a good time to check out some of the Rex 4 textures I just purchased. Took a short flight from KRYY to KTPA in a Flight 1 Citation Mustang. Active Sky Next provided the weather and as I said, I used textures from Rex 4 Texture Direct and Soft Clouds. Also used the Xbox DRV provided in Windows 10 to grab the screen shots. Hi Guys, I'm in the throws of a re-install of FSX - on a new clean HDD. I expected this to go without a hitch, should have known better. Most times when I start FSX the aircraft is externally invisible, I have the flashing lights, nav etc but usually nothing else. Sometimes the wings but no fuselage and other odd combinations. I haven't been able to find an answer/solution so far, so I'm hoping someone here can help me. I also have a scenery problem, big black squares of scenery blocked out, not sure if it's all related. Hi Everyone I am looking to purchase another USA based heavy metal airport in FSX and have narrowed it down to Flightbeams KIAD or FSDT KORD. I already run KJFK, KLAX, KMIA and KDFW. Bought this the other day. Kinda knew that the Virtual cockpit wasn't too great. But I wanted to have some Shorts in my hanger. The visual model is fairly good. The VC is kinda poor, glass reflection on the gauges, translucent look sucks. Just tried the night lighting. Seems to be a bug or inadequate lighting, not all gauges light up. the landing lights don't show on the runway, neither do the taxi lights for that matter. I sent an email to the company. So, I went looking for a forum on for Virtualcol anywhere to see if things can be fixed or addressed etc. I suspect that RXP gauges might be substitutable, redux lights programmed in, not sure about …

The Nemeth UH-C/H Huey is currently on sale but I'm a bit hesitant to buy it because of something I read that implied it might not work properly in Steam. Can anybody tell me if it's SE compatible? Thanks Ian

Hi. I am giving Process Lasso (freeware version) a try in both FSX and FS9. Over and above setting FS9.exe and FSX.exe as 'games' (so, with priority) in the gaming options, does any Process Lasso 'guru' have any other advice for the other settings (ther are many!), or just leave the rest as it is? I haven't enabled Smart Trim for instance, as I never have less than 8GBs of physical RAM free... Thanks, Martin

Hello! This is my first post so don't expect much. I recently have attempted to install REX Essentials+ Overdrive. After I bought it, I opened my downloads file and there was a zipped setup folder which I proceeded to open. I read the readme file and followed its requirements. I then clicked on the setup.exe application. It opened the, "REX Download Manager". After I opened it, I was greeted by a screen asking for me to input all of the necissary information. After I did so, it began downloading everything. But the rexes.cab files were barely downloading. After an hour or two, all of the rexes.cab files were at 100% except for rexes1.cab, which was at 6%. Hi Folks, Problem - I'm trying to run "setup" and FSX detects old version on failed disk - only two options are "Remove" or "Repair" - - - both of which fail since the disk has been gone for a long time... I'm sure it's a key in the registry - I used an "uninstaller" and FSX vanished from the list of installed products - but some residual key must be making the setup routine think FSX is still installed... Anyone know the key I need to remove to allow "setup" to run a new install ??? Thanks... Regards, Scott

I tried to open FSX and I got a pop up that reads; The Dem4km.bgl file is missing or damaged. Re-install FSX to restore or repair the file. I have FSX / Acceleration.

..for your FSX-SE, think twice, or better buy the addon from the original publisher! Their addons don't work properly, and once you've tried to get the addon to work and invest a few hours, they tell you bluntly you've played with it for more than two hours and so you're not eligible for a refund. I've had it with these folks. Never intended to go public, but they leave me no choice. Cees Donker

Strange title...but true On several previous computers and now my new rig, the Vertigo RV8 in both tricycle and taildragger variants has the pilot's jacket, torso, legs etc. invisible and the pilot's head, hands and seatbelts are there. Also, their Stearman does not have any people at all in it. I know, a Vertigo Studios thread should be placed at their end, I have done so several times with no avail, unfortunately. I wanted to gauge (no pun intended) interest in a fix for the FFS SAAB to work correctly in FSX.If you have this aircraft you'll know that if you copy it over to FSX (It was designed for FS9) that the two fuel gauges are stuck at empty.I've created a replacement gauge that looks exactally the same as the original with a revised panel.cfg to incorporate it. I'm still working on the formulas on it so it will report similar data as the stock gauge.Anyway, I wanted to see if there was interest in me posting this 'fix' here in the file library.(Especially since this is a great product from a now defunct company)TIAJL

Each developer's aircraft offers certain advantages above the other's, depending upon what it is you wish to do with it, and just how far you want to take your hobby (especially if interested in building your own cockpit). In the area of technical support, iFly has that mastered. The way they did that is by limiting access to the tech support forums to licensed users only, no hackers, pirates, etc to deal with, and zero trolling/spamming. With some aircraft, when the engine is started, the aircraft goes completely crazy flip flopping and wandering all over creation. It almost seems that the prop stays still and the aircraft rotates which may not actually be the case. Bill Lyons J3 Cub and the Commercial Level Simulations Arrow II would be examples. This is not a constant problem. Sometimes the aircraft will startup normally, but I have never been able to isolate the cause, or solution. Hello, when start flight with dash8pro then my P3D became an error, it says that the gauge is "only for use in 3.0", but when click on Ok., it seems to work. can fly without troubles... Hope Majestic fix this also.

Hi everyone, I'd rather hoped my 1st post wouldnt be for something as basic as 'where did my menu' bar disapear to! I've just installed FSX-Gold edition with Accelerator pack included on to a W7 64bit system. On opening up the game and going to free flight - the 'menu' bar at the top of the screen when selected (right click mouse) is missing. The tab contents (left to right - all x6) show up, but they are all empty - no fonts or options etc. Although the options are not visible, just very light blue drop boxes. I have tried the various alt and keypresses advised on other sites, but it doesnt fix it. Have tried running it in full and window screen modes. …
