Hi All, Back again asking for more purchasing advice! FTX Global, yay or nay? I obviously want to make the Sim environment look as real as possible. I have a PC Pilot magazine subscription and this came with GEX Europe for free, however I have not got round to installing it, and understand it looks better when combined with UTX? With the Orbx sale, and especially since FTX covers the whole world, this looks more tempting. I do have some reservations though - firstly I have quite a lot of add on airports, and also have VFR Gen X and lots of UK2000 airports for the UK. I still want to use these products and am worried that Global will conflict? I've seen screens…

I really researched the Internet helps but I would like to know the difference between: Exclude AutoGen, Flatten, Flatten Exclude AutoGen, Flatten Mask Class Map, Flatten Mask Class Map ExcludeAutoGen, Mask Class Map e Mask Class Map ExcludeAutoGen. My experiences with my past FSDT airports haven't been all that impressive, so I have been extremely reluctant to add others to my library. However, I recently joined a VA and wanted the scenery for the hub that I was assigned to, which was KIAH. I decided to give FSDT's KIAH a try not expecting more than what KORD had given me. I was blown away when I loaded it. Years ahead of KORD, KDFW, etc. Quick loading, the textures were brilliant, etc., I've loaded it three or four times since my install yesterday and remain impressed. An absolute keeper. So, whatever FSDT did between KORD and KIAH, keep it up and congratulations. Ernie

Hi Sorry if this is in the wrong forum but unsure exactly where to put it. I'm trying to figure out why some of my faib a321 aircraft are showing as black in both fsx and p3d while others are showing fine. I've been through the textures for the aircraft in image tool that comes with the sdk and they show fine. Photoshop shows the textures fine and compairing the info from the textures with ones that show up ok they seem the same is there anything else I can check for ? kind of scratching my head with this one a bit thanks

Hi guys, I'm planning to migrate from fs9 to fsx. I want to have both copies of the sim existing next to eachother on my system. Im planning to add a extra SSD especially for fsx. Some folks recommended me to do this so fsx will run better. Is there some thread for migrating plans? I have loads of addons on my fs9 and I know some addons like fsdt addons are for both sims without using the creditcard again. I have Klax (v2), klas, kjfk, kord, kdfw so these sceneries can be put on my fsx as well. Second question: I have a huge folder with ai-aircraft. I am considering getting REX Weather Architect as I think I would enjoy setting up my own weather scenarios. I have heard that besides the weather creation functionality it has some flight planning capability also. As I often do not have much time to flight sim I am wondering what is the best "quick" workflow for using Weather Architect to get up and flying. Do you jump back and forth when selecting the aircraft, flight plan, time, weather, season, setting fuel, etc. or is there a logical simple sequential flow? Thanks.

I have fsx (I also have steam but haven't switched over to it) and a number of addons PMG, majestic dash 8, rex soft clouds and textures, ASN, proatc, fs2crew, various addon airports etc. I have been using windows 7, but am thinking about upgrading to windows 10. Are all the various addons now working with windows 10 or will upgrading create a problem? Has upgrading improved simulator performance for anyone? I have been holding off on upgrading so that I didn't break anything but its been awhile now. Thanks

I would like to buy a Warthog HotasX throttle and joystick from Thrustmaster. I would like to have the dual throttles for Baron 55, Twin Otter, DC3, and Bronco. It is a large expenditure for me at $400-500. I am concerned about the lack of reliability and the alleged poor customer service from Thrustmaster. I know AvSim represents a large group of FlightSim users. I would be very interested in hearing (only) first hand accounts of user experiences with the Warthog Hotas X before laying down what is a large sum of money for me. Thanks in advance. M_Slim

Hey FS junkies, I recently got back into FSX but I was using the older box edition and so this weekend I decided to get FSX steam during the sale. So far so good - been doing GA flying with a2a planes mostly and plan to fly slighly faster planes like the caravan and piston twins. Just wanted to know how your experiences has been with it so far and what kind of aircrafts/flights have you been flying and going on.

Hey, I wonder if anyone else has experienced this or knows a fix. I bought the dash the other day, I'm using it in P3D V3 and every now and then I can be taxing at say 20 knots and all of a sudden the dash will suddenly stop momentarily and then continue on again as normal. Also I have this sometimes when in the air like when I'm on approach it'll suddenly slow down in mid air and then continue on again as normal. Is there any fix for this? its quiet annoying! Thanks, Joe Actually I think I may have just fixed it, I only done a quick test but turning off autosave in FSUIPC seems to have stopped it!. I will report back if it does it again later.

Hello, I've installed Facetracknoir, and anyone can help me with settings? The movements are too much sensitive and I can't control the view. Anyone can help me adjusting that? I'm using FSX with Aerosoft Airbus.

Just a curiosity. I have been flying and attempting to land my newly acquired FeelThere ERJ-135 I have noticed that I start at 30 fps and upon landing after a one-hour flight I'm in the 19 fps range. I am using FTX Global at the suggested settings, UTX, REX, ASN and no add-on airports other than Ray Smith's AFCADs. At the end of the flight FSUIPC shows the VAS at 17K+, so I'm no where close to a memory issue. In the past I've only flown GA, so if the problem is common and was occurring it was on a much smaller scale. It doesn't prevent me from enjoying the flight, but it's rather jarring to land and suddenly have everything jerky. Thanks, Ernie

This problem is sort of related to another ReShade issue I'm having in P3D (http://www.avsim.com/topic/479400-reshade-causing-crashes-p3d-v25/#entry3335571). I decided to install Reshade into FSX:SE to see if it gives me the same issues I have in P3D. I selected FSX using the Mediator, then installed the files from post #44 here (http://www.avsim.com/topic/459027-reshade-shader-injector-sweetfx-20-and-p3d-v24/page-3). The FSX main menu loaded fine, but the usual ads on the 'Home' page did not appear- it was only a white space. Also, the aircraft preview window has turned blakc. I tried loading FSX, and it got all the way to 100%, but stopped and would not load the flight …

I installed EZDOK for the first time, and after much frustration trying to understand how to set the camera views for the PMDG 737, I have found that the views do not cycle with keyboard or joystick assignments. I have practically unbound every key in the sim that relates to views. Looking online I see what appears to be an older version of EZDOK with a section for camera view, however, the new version and manual that comes with it only has the "View System" menu and "Default View" menu. So to cycle through the preset cameras I created, I should be able to bind keys to the Default Menu section under "next in current" and "prev in current" within the VC category. T…

Hi, ok my new system is up and running and slowly going through the installations...up to now FSX is loaded and working fine except for one issue....each time I hit the slew key the aircraft goes running wild everywhere...I believe this had to do something with the controls and my yoke and throttle are disabled in fsx as I use fsuipc to calibrate... now can someone offer some help to direct me to a solution to this please. regards, emann

The door opening gauge that I had on my pilot edition went away upon updating. Can't remember where I got this from the last time. Dont see it on the other files section on the majestic site. does anyone know where I can get it. Thanks

How does Aerosoft Airbus 320/21 318/319 stack up against Just Flights package and the old PSS. Are they comparable to IFly 737 and PMDG 737NG in terms of texture quality, accurate modeling of FD's and general operational flow. Thank you Randy

Hello, I've got PRO version od Majestic Dash. I tried to enable flight controls to operate at the internal FDE rate of 125Hz. I have problem with rudder pedals (Saitek). My code in mjc84.ini file is: Aileron and Elevator works great. In Control Panel Aplication when I move ruder pedals there is a reaction and it seems to work (I can see movement of pedals displaying there). But directly in Dash (FSX) rudders don't move and there is no reaction when flying. Does anybody know why? Michal Pierzchala

Can't get the progressive runway arrows to show up unless I do top down view and zoom in very close to airplane. I think it might be wrong settings, but have not had any results adjusting them. :smile:

Folks,I have downloaded and installed the Autopilot for FSX developed by Dirk Fassbender. Unfortunately, although the Annunciator appears ok there are no indications at all on the display, just a blank display? Trying to figure out which settings I should be using with FSUIPC. Particularly, I purchased FSUIPC to help with strange weather affects on airplanes in REX Essential + OD. Not sure if I've been successful with FSUIPC and REX as I'm still getting strange thrust issues during climb and cruise. Read some turn off the weather in FSUIPC and others don't... What are you guys doing with those settings? Thanks
