I was checking freeware planes and noticed that some of my planes which were working perfectly starting showing up with black textures. For example, some of the planes had entirely black colored wings. Which made me think. 1. Is it okay to rename the planes subfolders in the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes folder? For example, "B747" to "1. B747" or "Boeing747"? 2. How large or how many planes do you have in your \FSX\SimObjects\Planes folder? Thanks.

Hi I reinstalled FSX-SE in an attempt to fix some issues, but I instead encountered a new one. Whenever I press Alt+Enter to exit or leave full-screen, the sim stays in the current state (full-screen or windowed) and displays a black screen. I can press Esc and view the End Flight, and return to the main menu, but nothing else. After returning to the main menu, the aircraft preview is also black. I have tested this on a default aircraft and a PMDG 737NGX. I am running Windows 10 and FSX is not tweaked.

In fsx, when I go into the 2d cockpit, my view gets placed outside of where it is supposed to be and I can use my hat switch, and see the wings plus the VC but nothing else. What is going on? Verified cashe. Image:http://i.imgur.com/vgusrXb.png

I encounter a problem when activating ViewDown ( pressing F12 key ). See attached screen shots Before going to the trouble of removing my programs ( FSX etc ) and then reinstall them again I wonder if anybody can come up with a solution. Thank you Hubert Werni

Im trying to set up my yoke hat switch to do a quick look left, or right. I select either Look Left (Pan) or Look Left (Snap) and its the same thing. I dont want to pan, just look left or right, which view control am I looking for?

Hello.. I need some Help!.. My FSX seems to have an unusual issue..I have look everywhere! but can't seem to find a solution,, When parked at airport gate my FSX runs smooth with Default aircraft i get a steady 28-30FPS (locked at 30) when I fly with default FSX aircraft same I get steady frames.. When I Try to load my PMDG 777.. My frames drop hard... When Parked I get 25-14FPS (30 locked) When I'm flying I the frames will be bouncing around 28-24FPS and THEN!>> it just drops to 5-3FPS for like 3sec and then back up to 28-24FPS.. Is it fair to say the PMDG 737 in the virtual cockpit is the most taxing from a graphical or FPS point of view? My Specs are i7 4790k 4.4Ghz, GTX 970 and it pushes my system really hard. At cruise or above FL100 its usually rock solid but coming through the approach depending on where Im flying the FPS will drop. I have sacrified a few sliders and only run 2048 textures max but in some of the denser hubs like London and LA using payware scenery, airports and the usual I can be anywhere between 15-30FPS locked. Hi folks, I’m a long time simmer who has been out of the scene for at least five years and looking to get back in. I have owned many versions of Flight sim going all the way back to FS98 up to FSX. I am just now reading up on Prepar3d and of course FSX-SE. I own quite a bit of FSX add-ons so switching Flight Sims would make those obsolete, so I will hold off on Prepar3D for now. I purchased IFMS from the playstore, and I'm loving it. Sure the learning curve is a bit steep, but it works. Loving the functionality of VNAV and LNAV , or just having a FMS with my Saitek gear. The developer is a wonder in how helpful he is, and making it even better. Kudos Michael! You won me over, and I'm picky about addons.

Does anyone know of any good 787s for FSX, payware or freeware? I'd like good model quality and a good VC. I've tried some of the freeware ones but the quality ain't great.

Hello everyone, I recently installed Taxi2gate KSEA on P3D, and I started experiencing this: The only scenery addons on my P3D are Taxi2gate KSEA, and Fly Tampa Vienna. However, I have had this issue in FSX as well, with my downtown Seattle going from this: To this! Can someone tell me why stock FSX has two Seattle downtowns, and why they are overlapping or why the low res one even appears!

Can i install acceleration over my fsx with SP 2 without having to reinstall fsx and all my addons again?

Hello Fellow Avgeeks; Im having a very annoying issue with the Duke v2. On takeoff its doing something that it has never done before. It pulls to the right EXTREMELY. Placing left rudder does nothing at all. After takeoff all is fine, rudder response nicely. During taxi all is good too. But during takeoff its impossible to keep it center. Many thanks for your help.

Hi, I load my flight plan created with Simbrief in PMDG 777 and FSX. During flight FSX changes the flight plan to a one that I used good three weeks ago. I reaload correct one and this goes on and on every few minutes. Anybody got similar issue and knows the problem?

I am using FSX-SE and installed from Steam ASN. I previously (in 2012) purchased REX Essentials for my old Pd3v1.4 setup (long since abandoned). Frustrated with almost no clouds showing up in my new build even with ASN I re-downloaded and installed to the correct path my old REX old 2012. After installation I get a few cirrus clouds but no real amount of cloud cover. Is it possible that that ols REX is simply incompatible with FSX-SE? Is my best hope to install REX Textures Direct from Steam? Hi all. Sorry if this is covered elsewhere - if it is I can't find it! I would like to offset my flying time so that I can fly in daylight, (easily done in FSX > Time & Date), but I would like the aircraft to show the true Zulu Time (UTC) on the clock and in the FMC. This would make position reporting a whole lot easier. I flew an Iceland event two days ago, and got so confused because I was unable make an oceanic request because I couldn't work out the estimated times quick enough! I've tried reading about FS Realtime, but the info is quite technically advanced and I'm not sure it does what I want it to. Hope I've made this clear enough. Does anyon…

Hi, Happy New Year! Does anybody know how to install the FDSFX Panel into the PMDG 747X (PMDG 747-400 for FSX)? I was able to install it to all planes, even to the tricky Wilco/Feelthere Airbus Vol. 1 and 2, but not into the PMDG 747X. Using the Standard procedure creates hang-ups and failure Messages about the PMDG Options.dll. Any ideas? Answers are highly appreciated. Thanks! Best regards, Fritz

So I noticed I have quite a long loading time in FSX, where normally it would run up to just 6% and stall there for a LONG time, to later continue loading and starting the flight, etc. Reading around I saw that it's probably addons loading, and in particular I suspected mesh/ I have FS Global Ultimate (all 3 sets) installed, and they are quite big. Sure enough, today I disabled them as a test, and it loaded up in just a few seconds.... Now I know that to optimize your setup, I really should customize this (with configurator or something) because who needs Asia mesh for flying in North America, or US mesh when flying over Italy, right? I have a problem with visibility after an add on was installed. Everything was fine with my ORBX night lighting until I installed a similar product now my visibility is messed up. If I set my visibility low I can still see streetlights for miles ahead and I can even see the horizon, moon and the milky way arm. Here is what I want to know. I have a clean build of FSX on another computer that has no such issues. So I was thinking instead of spending 3 days reinstalling FSX I would just find the files that control visibility and bring them over from the good build.
