Why is FSX, Justflight, and a few others hyperlinked in the forums? Is this just me or a new feature and if so why isn't FS9 hyplerlinked as well for quick reference for users?

Hey everyone, I want to figure out what career I want to have. (Just entering into high-school.) While I enjoy FS, I can't think of a way to get myself to sit in an aircraft for such long periods of time so repetitively. Plus, the industry isn't the same as it used to be, and paying 50K+ just to get a regional job paying 17-20K a year doesn't sound appealing. So, I came across an Airline Dispatcher job, which assigns the routes, and is the primary contact for pilots for 30 minutes pre-flight to 30 minutes post-flight. This job seems like it would be exciting and challenging, which I enjoy very much. Is there anyone who can give me a pro-con list, or better yet, is…

I've seen a few people set the HDG/TRK on the MCP on the 737 prior to take off to match the runway, So if they're taking off from runway 28L, they set the HDG/TRK to like 279, what is the purpose or reasoning behind this, because I've never done this and I'm able to take off without any problems.

Hi, I was just wondering what's the longest nonstop flight a pilot might attempt in a Cessna 182 taking "bathroom needs" into consideration? I just flew my Carenado 182 from KAVP to Sporty's I69 in 3 hours 10 min. nonstop but it got me wondering if I would do it for real without a break. Thanks. Tom

The current world record for the shortest scheduled flight is from Papa Westray (EGEP) to Westray (EGEW) airport in Orkney Islands, Scotland. It's a great little route to do in the Islander and using Orbx's Scotland scenery. My best time yet, including the taxi is 3.5 minutes. I'd be curious if anyone has managed to beat this :-).

Can a Real Cessna 182 fly into clouds safely in winter weather? If so, what about icing conditions? I don't see deicing modeled in FSX C-182 planes including my Carenado. Thanks. Tom

- when some plane passing overhead, I always, and I mean literally always look up to recognise model, airline, speed, approach, etc... - edited almost EVERY single sound.cfg and sound files to match my perception of realism and immersion. - edited some bright airport textures, and edited the clouds in AS2012 to match my very bright FSX visuals (SweetFX) - when flying VFR for fun and sightseeing I choose an airfield that is close to EDDM, so it would be realistic to travel by car an hour from Munich to closest GA airfield (this is hardcore, I know). :lol: I bought German Airports 11 just for that occasion. - I have very unusual setup for simming - Saitek Cyborg as yok…

Was all prepared to download FTXG today. But now, after looking at more youtube videos comparing FTX to default I'm on the fence again. Usually it DOES look better. However, compared to GEX it's a little less convincing at times although usually better. Is it $100 better especially when flying high? It seems that FTXG is mostly changing the topography by adding lots of trees, plants, green fields etc. What else is it doing? Help me decide. Thanks.
