A couple of weeks ago a Jabiru J170 light aircraft lost power at 1100ft when flown by 18 year student pilot. The 22 year old instructor took over and they made a crash landing in a paddock. Very cool heads, watch the video from the cockpit http://youtu.be/kUZI69FSDag

Firstly, tell me what are your favourite Flight Sim airports you use in the USA? Then for you live in the USA, what are the airports you like to visit? For us Internationals we can also share where we have been. For example I have been to Denver with UA. I must say it was a more hub feel to it than somewhere like Kansas. Then, if you have photos, upload them! Inside the terminals, anything nice, large open areas or stuff. I took a lot of photos of the new Tokyo Haneda International Terminal this year but it isn't relevant to this thread. But had some Japanese decor in the food/shopping area. In Japan that is usually reserved for country towns and villages. …

Well I am in a predicament. See here's the problem. My girlfriend and I, are going to be first time parents to a baby girl in November:-) well I was talking to her this morning about how excited I was about this release and guess what she did to me!? She totally killjoyed my rant by telling me I need to save rather than buying some "stupid" airplane!!! Lol well here's the deal. I work for Delta Airlines and make pretty good money and we ( I ) have bought absolutely everything we need including over a grand on clothes. So anyway making a long story short, we argue and argue because I'm excited about spending upwards of 150 on "a stupid airplane"... Lol sorry but I just tho…

Just noticed that while I was capturing an FSRecorder playback with FRAPS my FPS dropped from the locked 30FPS that I consistently get to 19 or 20 or even less. Do others have the same experience with fraps? Is there an alternative to FRAPS that won't kill the FPS. What about MSI Afterburner. I hear that has a feature that makes a video of what's on screen? Is it better than FRAPS?

difficult to set up cameras. The OPUS camera setup is the most complicated thing I HAVE experienced with FSX software. I don't know what Im doing wrong but Ive tried on and off for 5 months to get OPUS cameras setup...cant do it. The manual is not helping. I can get the cameras setup for 1 plane but when I load another all the cameras views are misaligned. How do I setup cameras for ALL my aircraft? Would like to dump EZDOK but its so much easier to use.

  12. I know I'm making a moutain out of a moe hill but I can't see to wrap my head around this. If putting together a flight schedule and using GMT time.. then: for example you fly from KSFO to KMML in a 772 lets say you have a 14hr flight plus 30 min.. 15 min taxi on both ends so block to block 14.5hr flight now lets say I leave at 1300Z then what time (in GMT) would it be that I get at YMML? My guess is: 2030Z the following day, yes? here is my thinking: 1300+1430 = 2730 - 2400 = 0330+(time diff of 17hrs)= 2030Z but then what would be the local times? ahhhggrrr there has got to be an easy formula

  14. Many are gloating about Microsoft shutting down their Marketplace therefore affecting future purchases o Flight content. I must say many of us saw this coming since the release of Flight but it brought current community issues light in my mind. First of all thanks to pirates many things we use in FS after purchase is still controlled by a server that authenticates the applet everytime we use it. Gone are the days in many cases where you buy something install it and it's truly yours. The problem here is when said enterprise decides to close down most don't think of their customers and go the way of Ready For Pushback and totally give their product to existing users (should…

  23. The airplane I fly in real life (the whole class actually, Ultralight in Finland) is not allowed to spin. Yesterday it was this "airplane's day" in Sweden so I flew to an airport that offered the opportunity to experience spinning in a Bulldog that had been used by the Swedish airforce as a training aircraft. It was amazing fun! The instructor let go of the controls immediately after take off so I took us up to around 2,500 feet where I started with the maneuvers. We actually only were supposed to try entries and exits to get an appreciation for what it feels like when the spin starts. But I ended up doing fully developed spins albeit only some 5-6 rotations each time. HU…

Particularly Arizona, one is called Oatman. found it interesting, the old route 66. I thought Route 66 was between LA and Las Vegas, but it was decommissioned years ago. Anyone driven around Arizona, California and New Mexico, and seen some of these touristy places? The scenery is amazing! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oatman,_Arizona Signed Daniel PS. This is a non controversial topic and no animals were harmed in the filming of this movie....... :-)

One used to be able to get cheaper fares the farther one booked out, not today. This merger crap needs to stop now...
