Has anyone had a chance to use the DoveTail Games Flight School? Ive seen and heard mixed reviews about the training aid, and wanted to here some input from you guys. Although it is fairly cheap, (I think its $12.99) just wondering if its worth it?

This year I decided to volunteer my day to helping provide communications support for the City of Evanston's (Illinois) annual 4th of July Parade and evening fireworks down at the lakefront. I live in NW Indiana so it was a long drive for me, but it was worth the trip! Evanston has the distinction of having had the first and longest running annual Parade in Illinois, and draws entries from all around the nation. North Shore Emergency Association (NSEA) has been doing this project since around 1966. My station was as the primary net control operator from the green/white lawn chair on the two base radios. I also passed along the necessary information to the gentleman to m…

Reported on the BBC News website today, form an orderly queue all you Windows 10 sufferers: Payout of $10,000 for Windows 10 updateMicrosoft has agreed to pay a Californian woman $10,000 (£7,500) after an automatic Windows 10 update left her computer unusable. Teri Goldstein said her Windows 7 computer had automatically tried to update itself to Windows 10 without her permission. She said the update had made her machine unstable, leaving her unable to use it to run her business. Microsoft said it had dropped its appeal to save on legal costs. Microsoft has been aggressively pushing the latest version of its widely used operating system, which is currently availabl…

  7. Hi everyone, This is the official discussion thread for DTG Flight Simulator. My name is Martin and I am the Community Manager for all flight simulation projects here at Dovetail Games. In the build up to the launch of DTG Flight School we ran a Q&A thread which was very successful. However, lots of people wanted to just have a general discussion about the new sim, and not ask questions. So this time around I have created a discussion thread for that very purpose. If you are looking for the latest news about DTG Flight Simulator then you can find the news thread here. If you would like to ask me a question about DTG Flight Simulator then you can find th…

  9. Hello, So I recorded a landing using the record feature, but after playback ends, I am "time warped" so that I am where the plane was at the end of the recording. I was expecting that after playback I would be returned to the time place and aircraft state I was in when I hit playback from the menu. Is there a setting I am missing or is this just one of the oddities of FS Recorder?

Hopefully one of you can help me with something I don't understand! In anticipation of the upcoming A2A Simulations Lockheed Constellation, I pulled their Boeing 377 Stratocruiser out of its virtual hangar. I haven't done a lot with it in the past, so I decided to try and fly some historic flights with it, using a Pan Am timetable I found over at http://timetableimages.com. Below is a section of this timetable, the flight New York - Bermuda. As you can see, it says the flight time is about 5 hours and 5 minutes (from 10:00h until 15:05h GMT). According to my calculations the flight time should be 2 hours and 34 minutes (without wind correction) and after flyi…

  14. So based on my experience uptill now I have some suggestions/things I hope for. I want to see a different version of the plane. This video runs down exactly everything in a da-42 VI So what do I hope for? GFC 700 digital autopilot integration in the G1000 and the fuel pumps in the place where it is supposed to be (where the autopilot is now). If possible I hope for them to have the weather radar in there aswel. Here you can see the use of that (same youtuber same aircraft) As this is for learning purposes it will be good to learn to deal with all the bells and whistles of this plane. Aswell I hope to have the engine test integrated. Maybe the fi…

Hi all, I bought the DTG Flight School and everthing is working properly, but is there a way to disable the force feedback of my Sidewinder Pro Force Feedback 2 joystick? I hate that function within FSX and now I hate it as well within Flight School (at least that is consistent). Greetings, David

  17. http://steamcommunity.com/games/dovetailgamesflightschool/announcements/detail/890967051406171440 This announcement mentions "authentic audio effects". From what I hear / see - they are almost the same as audio files for Alabeo DA42 (same sounds, sometimes different levels). And I know that Alabeo DA42 reuses some files that were created earlier (for example some files are shared with their Pawnee). Alabeo also uses some files marked "Flight Simulator 2000" and created in 1999. The metadata (including the timestamp) is stripped from DTG files but otherwise, the sound is the same. So my question is - how the sound recorded in 1999 is authentic for a plane that firs…

  20. Hi all, Just wanted to see if anyone had been able to get their Saitek equipment to work with DTG Flight School? I launched the program this morning for the first time and discovered that my Saitek yoke and rudder pedals were detected. However, I was unable to change some of the joystick commands for things like brakes and elevator trim. Currently when I use my Saitek elevator trim, it rolls the entire aircraft left and right! When I try to change the elevator or brake actions in the Settings menu, it won't recognize me spinning the elevator trim wheel or pushing forward on the rudder pedals. Just wanted to see if other simmers were having this problem or if this…

Hi-I run P3dV3 off two Nvidia video cards each driving 3 screens. I stretch one window over all six screens and it works fine. I can't get that to work in DTG flight school. Tried all the DTG monitor settings, but nothing seems to work, as the single window, when stretched, either goes totally blank or snaps back onto a single card. Any ideas? Thanks.

It is really too bad the Honda legal-beagles are so militant! The June issue of Flying magazine has a "we fly" evaluation of the HondaJet and it sounds like a terrific aircraft in so many ways: fast, quiet, spacious, and most of all, "intelligent". Really too bad...
