And all round lovely guy. At least he won't have to see the 747 go out of production. Rest In Peace in Clear Skies.

I just bought this and being an avid P3D user along with orbx I thought I'd give it a shot. I got it set up nicely graphically thanks to Jordan King's nice YT tutorial but I can't get it to recognize some of my Saitek hardware, especially the toe brakes on the pedals. I have this, all Saitek, Yoke & throttle quad, an extra quad, a TPM, and pedals. I read a FAQ on their very limited "support" site that says I have to update my Saitek drivers to 64 bit. My question, IF I do this will it mess up P3D? P3D is way more important. Thanks. Jack

With all the amazing addons coming our way (along with what we already have), there are a number of significant problems manifesting themselves 1. There're too many excellent aircraft to fly 2. There's not enough time to fly any one complex aircraft long enough to become proficient on it 3. How are you possible supposed to visit all the airports you have installed. (Just spawning in doesn't count. Must be a planned flight into or out of) 4. Social engagements are getting in the way 5. It's becoming as expensive as golf, but that's okay 6. The line between reality and simming is blurring 7. Your simming experiences with shader mods installed are more plea…

I usually try to fly realistic routes as much as possibe, but sometimes it's difficult finding real world routes when flying outside of the US. I have been letting PFPX create the route for me automatically and have been flying those routes especially when flying in other parts of the world such as Europe and Asia and it seems to be working very well. I find it a pain to be realistic as possible for every single flight. Sometimes I just want to taxi and fly without fussing with every little detail. What about you guys? What do you think about the automated routes that PFPX gives you? Is there a way to have PFPX choose ILS-only runways for arrival? Also if the…

Set-up: Flying the JRollon CRJ-200 in X-Plane 10.45 from KORD to KBUF with SkyMaxx. Weather was overcast with cloud ceiling at 13000ft but no heavy winds or turbulence. Issue: Cruising at 31,000ft I began my decent into KBUF about 90 miles out. At about 28,000ft I inadvertently pressed the wrong button on my joystick - TWICE. This caused the flaps to engage at about 420kt. I immediately realized my mistake and attempted to retract the flaps but it was too late and the plane began an uncontrolled drive that I was completely unable to recover from crashing to the ground within 45 seconds! Question: If this happened in real life would the aircraft really respon…

When taxiing or taking off, I find it difficult keeping my plane straigh. I'm always trying to use the rudders to correct this but i find it difficult. I even have auto-rudder set to on in P3D and also in the Aerosoft Airbus as well. I mean it shouldn't pull to the left or right this much. I can understand a little bit of pulling, but a lot makes no sense. I am using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, and have calibrated it already. What else could it be? This happens with any planes I am flying...

Anybody seen this Kickstarter for a new flight sim? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1224402202/jet-way-flight-sim-a-way-of-life Making a new flight sim for 8000$? Huge companies with huge teams of people with huge budgets are struggling make a modern flight sim. There are airplanes for FSX/P3D that are taking years to develop. I don't know, I'm highly suspicious of this Kickstarter campaign since the delivery date is set to February 2017 which is basically in a few months time and they are even using stock photos in the description.. What do you guys think, is this just a case of highly ambitious (and probably a bit delusional) group of people or is it a scam?

Share your largest pet peeve concerning anything with any of today's flight sims or flight sim hobby. I'll start off... For me, it is performance. Really wish I could crank the jaw dropping eye candy to max and never go below 30 fps, never have a single stutter and have no graphic glitches, in any situation.

The fmc add-on is not the best solution. Your choice of PMDG545-400v2 is most likely the best solution since it is integrated with the product. I do not have the 747 but I do have PMDG737NGX and it is far superior to the universal add on. You do not need to subscribe to Navigraph with it. (online statement) PMDG is coming out with a new 747-400v3 soon I have been told. The reason for purchase of payware aircraft is to become familiar with the fmc unit. I have 777 addon with lnav and vnav controls fmc unit that sort of records stuff and controls speed I don't think it does much else. If that plane had standard fmc it would be great plane to learn fmc. If someone ha…

Please if you can help a fellow flight sim community member out, now is the time to do it. I would like to think that everyone in the flight sim community would come together to help out someone in a time of need, as they have shown to do in the past, and at the moment Owen "HouseHobbit" Perkins needs our help. https://www.gofundme.com/2jqz8v8 http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...f-our-own***** Cheers,

I saw the chart below in A320's airport planning manual, and there is one thing I am curious about. The green curve can be divided into 3 segments. The first one is horizontal, which makes sense because there is a max zero fuel weight limit. But why the second and third segments have different slopes? My guess is that with payload less than 16 tons the aircraft's optimum cruising altitude would hit its limit (41000 ft). Therefore the aircraft can no longer cruise at its optimum altitude so fuel savings are less significant. The same chart for other aircraft types are very similar as well. I am wondering what's the correct explanation? (Source: pdf page 150)

Planned for June, got shutdown only today, at 1800 Z http://www.nws.noaa.gov/dm-cgi-bin/c...n=DM051602.txt May affect some add-ons for FSX, X-Plane and other flight simulators. Even SkyVector.com was apparently caught... ( ? ) There are alternatives though...

I purchased night environment last Friday through DTG am still waiting for it to install. I thought one of the advantages of having DFG as your FSX operating platform was to simplify installing ad-on's especially if they were purchased through DTG this is not the case as 4 days later it appears to have messed up my computer. Someone at DTG or night environment has got the interface badly wrong

I've noticed that when flying at high altitudes in mach mode (like a good boi), the conversion between my groundspeed and true airspeed convert to be a slower mach number than what's showing as my mach speed. For example, right now in the FF 757, I'm holding a .83 knot cruise. My GS is showing 465 knots. But 465 knots = mach .68. Why?

Pretty neat little "for fun" video from the Patey twins The turbo legacy from Realair is great but a turboprop mod would be even crazier! In the video he's doing 4000 fpm at 200 kias lol!

This is just my opinion rather than a specific question. My negative opinion. I don't like them. We don't look around the cockpit and see it distorted, nor when we look at aeroplanes externally. Please don't do it! Now, no doubt the fish eye view can work for some artistic purpose, but please desist from posting videos and screenshots with fish eye distortion when showing off a new aircraft etc. Other will have different opinions, that one was mine. Small rant over. Thanks
