If you fly those old Cold War or WW2 aircraft, where fo you fly them from, where do you go and what mission are you replicating? Do you base yourself at an authentic airfield and fly historic missions (albeit without the bombs) or do you simply fly from a modern airfield and acknowledge that you are flying an old classic? I fly an RAF Sentinel sometimes, and fly out to modern trouble spots to relocate for surveillance missions, to Latvia, Ukraine, Cyprus, Malta and Gibralter. I have an Airbus MRTT that I fly out over the North Sea for imagined refuelling missions. I've also flown Nimrods out to search for survivors or wreckage after newsworthy aircrashes at sea.…

I fly a real 300 CBi and was delighted with Just Flight's sim. I've been using it now for a couple of years with no real problems. But in the last few days the altimeter has not been reading correctly. It seems to be showing 1/3 of my "real" height AGL, its rate of change during climb and descent is too slow and I notice on setting QFE that the altimeter's needle moves much slower than it did before. Have I upset a setting somewhere? Or need to look at somethong else? I can handle flights without the altimeter but that's hardly realistic.

BBC Local News in the North-West of England just reporting a planeload of passengers who turned up for their departure from Manchester to Corfu at 9am Monday August 1st, are instead still stuck in Manchester, where they will have spent 40 hours waiting board that flight to Corfu run by a Lithuanian airline Small Planet Airlines, who apparently, unbelievably, sent the incorrect spare part for a incorrect aircraft, i.e. Airbus A320-200. There are holidaymakers also stuck in Corfu waiting to return to Manchester. One passenger who took a week's leave has already lost two days stuck in Manchester.

Sim Outhouse is a disaster. Even though I am a logged in member, it will not permit me to download the new C-47 V3 by Manfred Jahn. Even when I offer to make a donation, the site boots me out. Anyone know another way to get the new C-47? I hope they will offer it on another better website.

Hi all! I notice a lot on the GTN 750 while happily flying to and fro, the map shows (how do I explain it!) information in the form of (example) 100/SFL or 100/40. Can someone explain what this means?

Hello Chris, i become a huge fan of your NE never been a night flyer before. First of all im using P3Dv3.3.5. I have lots of your NE´s and they rock in every which way. Now here is my little prob i have with France v2.0. It seems that not all road lights are displayed correctly. For ex if i slew to LFPG i should see lights galore especially the roads but they are displayed partially only. Same goes for LFMP (made a flight from Justsim LEGE to Dreamflights LFMP). France v2.0 is the only NE add on that shows this. Unfortunately im away from my computer and cant take a screeny. Anyway maybe you have an idea. Besides NE there is ORBX Global and openLC Europe …

Have you ever had a "glitch". This has become a common word that is used to dismiss a myriad of problems people encounter with technology. A glitch is rarely fixed. A glitch is usually resolved where the resolution is to reload, re-boot or some similar remedy. The glitch is still there. We have been trained to appreciate the resolution and not seek the remedy. We move on, leaving behind something that may trap us again. Glitches "seem" to mutate. That is, they cause problem A and some time later cause problem B which is entirely different. We are told this is a new glitch - reload. Hmmmm. Glitches are costly issues in technology. They are difficult to fix since they a…

I just purchased a Cherry LPOS G86-71x400 keyboard and now have 24 working function keys with which I can bind controls plus other keys which can be used once I have figured out the correct scan codes to use. It comes with a total of 26 blank keys that can be programmed plus their software allows you to change the standard key assignment. The first things that I did I turn off the caps lock key and move it to a location where I would never hit it by accident again. This is important, You must go to their website and download the latest version of their Designer.exe software. Make sure that you get the correct version. Google vendors for pricing. There is a…

Talk about frustration - I decided to finally upgrade my W7 flight system to w10 so, last Saturday I did same. Could not have been more pleased - the in-place upgrade took about an hour and everything worked as expected. Happy camper time! Then, on Sunday, since I had upgraded to W10 Home Premium, I decided that I had a spare Windows 8.1 Pro license that I could use to upgrade W10 Home to W10 Pro. Checked the MS website and found you could just enter a MS supplied generic update key, the W10 pro would download and install and you enter your qualifying W8 key and be good to go. So, I entered the key, download started and installation started and got to 96% - and t…

I will be getting a flight joystick soon. I've been using a gamepad controller all this time. But in the meantime, what are some useful features to bind to the joystick buttons? I have 12 buttons to use. I'd like to get away from using my keyboard/mouse as much as possible to make flying a bit more immersive.

Actually it wasn't a collapse more so a failure. Was listening to the whole thing come about on LiveATC.net. The pilot reported only 2 greens on approach and did multiple low flybys for confirmation. After confirmation he went well north of the airport to diagnose/repair. He reported that during subsequent gear cycles there was "snapping & clunking" from the front gear, he also tried G maneuvers to unlock the stuck gear to no avail. A final declaration of an "Emergency" followed with souls on board ( 5, 2 forward, 3 aft), and 20 minutes of fuel remaining. At first he requested 18R for landing but winds were 300 @15G18, after a recommendation from North Tower he switch…
