Seems they still have problems. I spent almost $40 for the Ford Trimotor. The download arrived alright but the password does not work. Their selling agent seems to think that I cannot cut and paste correctly. The contact link on their website doesn't work either. They do not provide anything like support_at_cr1software.com. I wonder why? It's not so much the $40 as the principle of the thing. When I want to give money away, I like to choose the charity. 😉 CR1 have no problems when taking payments but when it comes to delivery and customer support, it aint there! Not yet anyway, but watch this space!

Several weeks ago there was a thread which touched on many topics, among which were some of the post-apocalyptic movies that have been made. The first one to come to mind was of course Nevil Shute's "On the Beach." There was another one that took place in a small Florida town that I remember watching on TV back in the early sixties but try as I might I couldn't remember the name of it. I remember having had nightmares for years afterwards. I even had "daymares" every time we had to practice "Duck and Cover" at school! Well, mystery solved! "Alas, Babylon" by Pat Frank was the title. Apparently Amazon's algorithm was a bit slow on the uptake, but I received an em…

I’m currently a 737NG Capt at a major US airline taking an early retirement with the COVID-19 downturn of the industry. Not sure if I’m going to pursue another flying position or not, don’t do GA, but want to keep the cobwebs cleared out and do some realistic chair flying on a 737NG. Don’t really care about external visuals as much as accurate flight deck/switchology and FMS functionality so I can fly some realistic profiles. My understanding is MSFS with a PMDG 737NG module would work, however I’m running a MS Surface Pro laptop and don’t really want to buy a dedicated gaming PC, so the question is what legacy version of the aforementioned software would work w…

I was racking my brain trying to think of what my first flightsim was as a kid and it wasn’t from the MS Flight Simulator family (my first entry there was FS5), it was Solo Flight in the mid to late 80’s. I remember crashing a lot and i couldn’t figure out how to navigate anywhere but I was flying, and boy it was a lot of fun at the time. https://images.app.goo.gl/8XEFKZeYBFek6jp97 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solo_Flight_(video_game) https://www.myabandonware.com/game/solo-flight-2w

Hello! I was looking to discuss this topic to gain an understanding about the longevity of cargo planes compared to passenger jets. Why exactly do cargo-lines (Fedex, UPS, etc) still fly older models such as the MD-11, DC-10, and A300, whereas the major passenger airlines have deemed them as outdated and inefficient for passenger travel? Are the payloads of cargo flights more lucrative since you can fit more boxes than people into a plane? Also, where does the 767 stand on this? I feel like airlines are phasing this plane out, however cargo-lines like Prime Air are still investing in it. What’s the incentive to do this? thank you! …

Is it possible new updates to windows 10 during spring and summer can cause problems in FSX or in PMDG's aircraft? The reason for the question is it takes much longer time and distance to takeoff with PMDG 737-800 NGX than it has done before. To test, I have flown PMDG tutorial 1 all over again. With CDU V-speed at 139-141-144, it lifts the nose wheel at 181 and liftoff at 185. It also uses almost the entire runway at Gatwick's 3300m. I have checked several times there are no errors in the setup regarding brakes etc. Fuel 1/3, Payload full + 2 x 1500 in luggage. Flaps 5, trim 5.06 and total weight of 64.1 tons. Vlof is lower than V2 so something must be wr…

Hi, when wind blows horizontally (90°) and the (wing) chord line of an airplane is 5°, 15° or even 25° the AOA would be considert 5°, 15° or 25°. When the wind blows from below relativ to the chord line (e.g 60°), and I climb with an 15° angle. That means I have an AOA of 45° and I would stall, is that correct?

You would think that folks that send out such obvious phishing attempts would at least proofread before sending them out! I've been getting several of these every week for the past few months: The obvious error of course is "biꞁꞁing", which I infer should have been "billing". Never mind the fact that if they didn't have valid "biꞁꞁing infοrmаtiοn", how did they manage to charge me to begin with? <sigh> i truly despise ignorance!

I was talking with my brother on the phone this morning when a message showed up on the screen that I had an urgent call from St Louis. I ignored it and a few minutes later I got a message on the screen that I had an important notification. I hung up on my brother and read the notification. It said I had been charged with a crime and to call this number before the case went to Federal Court or I got arrested. So, if you don't see me on these pages I'll be rotting away somewhere in solitary. Hey! That's what I'm doing now! I hope they let me take my PC and flight simulator with me. Noel

Hey everyone! Not sure if this is the proper forum category to post it. Sorry if it's not. During the past couple of weeks I've been working on a simple VOR and ADF "simulator", that I'm now releasing to the public for free. I initially started this project as something for myself (both for actually practicing how to properly navigate using those instruments and to learn a new javascript rendering library), but then I thought it my be useful for other aviation enthusiasts as well, so I made it "prettier" and released to the public. Here's a screenshot of it's main screen: I'm aware that are other similar tools, but some are payware and othe…
