Both the Great Egret and Snowy Egrets are common at the Bitter Lake Wildlife Refuge. Snowy Egrets are considerably smaller than the Great Egrets. The first four pictures are Great Egrets. The last three are Snowy Egrets. In addition to size their beaks give them away. Great Egrets have orange beaks while Snowy Egrets have black beaks. Noel

  3. Why are the male species of birds so much more colorful than the drab females? Except for the raptors and a few other species the females are a drab brown while the males have more, or a lot more, color to them. Here is an example from the duck world. These are pairs of the more common ducks we see wintering at the Bitter Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. 1 - The American Widgeon 2 - A pair of Buffleheads 3 - Cinnamon Teals 4 - Mallards 5 - This pair of Northern Shovelers has a juvenile male with them. The large beak they are named for are used to root up vegetation and aquatic insects from the bottom pf lakes and ponds. 6 - A pair of ring-…

Here it is, the whole movie. One of the many late night sci-fi flicks shown occasionally on things like Thriller Theatre or USA Up All Night when I was a kid, gawping at the flaming silver spaceships and thinking they were the coolest things evah’. Not to mention the alien saucers, the weird music… I was too young to have the slightest clue what I was watching, but boy was it fun!

I tried this in the Avsim Milviz forum, alas no response. Try here, statistically probably a larger readership.😄 The description on the supplier's page where I sourced the C310R for P3D says: "15 bonus HD liveries available for download" Where can I find them? Thank you T45

Think it was yesterday, so belated but HBD anyway. http://warbirdsnews.com/warbirds-news/happy-birthday-supermarine-spitfire-2.html "The Supermarine Spitfire flew for the first time eighty years ago today. A single-seat fighter and interceptor, the Spitfire is the most famous British aircraft of all time. A small, graceful, elliptical-wing fighter, the Spitfire was not only one of the best performing fighters, but also one of the best looking. Although less numerous than the Hawker Hurricane during the Battle of Britain, it is still remembered as the sleek thoroughbred that turned the tide during that campaign.'

Where can a serious flight sim enthusiast like myself find good developers that can create airport sceneries for MSFS 2020, P3D, and X-plane? Can anyone recommend a good place/resources to start?

  13. Is there any good anti V that comes free? In America one leading cable TV/internet provider is Comcast. For years free Norton antivirus was included. No longer true as of next month. We notice that the one that comes included with Windows seldom intrudes nor blocks downloads and such. But Norton does all the time. So I am guessing the Windows antiV is not good enough.

  15. How to follow a visual approach by following a chart? Yesterday, i flew from Whitehorse to Juneau. So far no problem. I follow my descent until the approach given by ATC...i have just arrived from the CHILL waypoint then GUMLE for altitude at 7500 feet as indicated on the chart, i'm continuing the approach path towards OGEME for 2000 feet, i take the direction of MENAE heading 70° always at 2000 feet and MOLRE. But here's what becomes more complicated, the visibility is zero. I don't know which angle of descent i should take. The atc asks me to take a heading of 50°, which i do but as i said i don't see anything in front of me, then how to proceed correctly? Btw…

Fry's Electronics announced that they have ceased operations permanently as of today (24 Feb 2021) due to the changes in the retail environment and the challenges of the COVID pandemic. https://www.frys.com/ For those who've never been to one of their stores (in the western USA), they were like the Wal Marts of electronics stores, selling everything from electronic and computer parts, test equipment, consumer electronics, appliances etc. Every time i visited relatives in the Phoenix or Houston areas I tried to make a pilgrimage to this electronics Mecca. 23. Maybe this already exists, and please tell me if it does. But I've always thought it would be amazing to have a payware, VC-25 package. An airplane meticulously designed after the VC-25's. With the 747-200B airframe, and some interior modeling including the president's office/conference room and bedroom, the operations center in the hump, and the specialized flight deck. There's certainly enough information on the web to create this, with a little creativity of course. I would love to make something like this myself, but I have no experience whatsoever in designing flight sim aircraft. (Not even repaints). Definitely feel like someone could make good money off of this. Pi…

MSNBC are claiming the F35 is failure. Really? I'm dubious about this claim. Expensive yes, but a failure? They also make an error in claiming it was just supposed to replace the F16, which of course isn't true. it 's designed to replace the F16, F18 and Marine Corps Harrier and UK Harrier.
