  1. In one case, the agency said Boeing "exerted undue pressure or interfered with" those employees at a plant in South Carolina where the company makes its twin-aisle 787 plane. In the other related case, Boeing had those employees reporting to the wrong managers and becoming subject to pressure or interference in connection with aircraft inspections. https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/airline-news/2021/02/25/boeing-pay-6-6-million-settle-faa-allegations/6825388002/

  5. Hello All, I was searching for reviews of P3D v.5, just to see how it compared with X-Plane 11 with respect to airliners and scenery etc... when I found a review on a blog. I wanted to post it here so people are aware that "Virtualpilot3d.com" is a scam (apparently, since I've seen tons of scam reports on this forum referring to known FS sites reviewing it. Here is the link to this "best Flight sim" site: https://bestnewflightsimulatorgames.blogspot.com/ Just an FYI and a warning to our amazing Flight Sim community. 🙂 John Montreal, Canada

I was raised in a house that was filled with classical music. Everything from The Merry Widow to The Mikado to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. I listen to the Sirius Classical music channel in my car and as I was driving to a medical appointment this morning they were playing the 1812 Overture. I sat in the parking and phoned the receptionist and said I would be a bit late. I wanted to hear the end of it. The 1812 Overture is one of my favorites. I listen to it every chance I get. One 4th of July weekend in Denver down at Larimer Square the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra played it. What was unique about it were the real cannons they had as part of it. The…

You guys have to watch this, even if just for the dancing presenter and her over active arms. I'm sure if you muted her voice and overlayed music it would be akin to a music video. Think she loves being on camera. Then.... we can argue about the SU-57 as if we are experts.

As someone who currently has a slow internet connection (9Mb/s I was curious when I received this today? I hope it comes online soon. "Starlink is now available for order to a limited number of users in your coverage area. During beta, users can expect to see data speeds vary from 50Mb/s to 150Mb/s and latency from 20ms to 40ms in most locations over the next several months as we enhance the Starlink system. There will also be brief periods of no connectivity at all. " Cheers Martin

  15. https://thehill.com/homenews/news/538991-bill-gates-rich-nations-should-move-to-100-percent-synthetic-beef For me nothing beats rare roast beef. I have a recipe for those who like it rare. Two hours before putting it in the oven season it on both sides with salt, pepper, and curry. Cover with foil and let it sit. Set oven temperature to 375. While oven is heating up wipe the bottom of a skillet with olive oil and over medium heat melt two tablespoons of butter. When the butter is sizzling brown the roast on both sides about 4 minutes on a side. Place the roast on a rack in a backing dish and add about a cup or two of water to the bottom of the …

Back to ducks this week. A common duck at the refuge during the winter is the Northern Pintail. All birds have a code that biologists and bird watchers and wildlife photographers use much like airport codes. Usually the first four letters of the duck's name like the Mallard would be MALL. For those with two word names like the Northern Pintail they use the first two letters of the first name and the first two letters of the second name. Northern Pintail would be NOPI. When out counting birds when I was a volunteer, we commonly used these codes as we identified birds. Two people usually go out on a bird count; the spotter and the recorder. The spotter identifi…

I might ruffle some feathers with this question but I find the description bizarre. Why do people refer to airliners as tubeliners? It can’t be to save typing as it’s one letter longer. All pressurised aircraft are a type of tube but what makes tubeliner more descriptive than a word that has been in use for over 70 years?

It's not a book I would actually recommend to anyone. It's the true story of the most screwed up father of the most screwed family that spawned the most screwed up children you have ever met. And yes, by his own admission one of my favorite authors, Pat Conroy, is just as screwed up as the rest of them. But the just past the final chapter, the funeral of The Great Santini, is the eulogy to his father that Pat Conroy wrote. To me that alone is worth the price of the book. Not only a tribute to his father, but a tribute to the Marine Corps and Marine Corps Aviation as well. But you don't have to buy the book. I pulled it off the internet: "The children…

While for other people this might not come as a surprise I'm very disappointed to see this behavior from one of the PMDG employee or beta testers. A while ago they had Kyle, if not mistaken either employee or part of the beta testers who was very disrespectful and fought with the customers just because they couldn't accept that there might be some bugs involved with the software or just because was an disagreement related to the product. Now they have another individual Marc Ehnle aka "Ephedrin" that is representing PMDG and is using foul language against the customer "It‘s hard to like your attitude. I don‘t know anything about yourself but it‘s the…
