Hello, I was wondering if anyone here has BeamNG? They released an updated called "Johnson Valley", which is an actual place on the US west coast. The rock crawlers and baja style racing look pretty cool to me. Really thinking about dusting off my Fanatec wheel, but it's kind of a pitb to switch from my flight sim to racing setup. So tempted. Most of the BeamNG videos I've seen in the past have just been crash physics. Wondering if anyone's tried Johnson's Valley in BeamNG or in real life. Love that terrain out west.

What a clever chap. He built a Spitfire simulator in his shed. Autism hasn’t held him back. No mention of the software. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-cambridgeshire-64890613

I say most definately not acceptable. Now you could argue that the parents are at fault for not keeping the child close to them. However... if the Queens/King's Guard are to be taken seriously as an entity that protects the monarch, and not even avoid trampling a young child... then NO civilians should be allowed in the area. I think this Queens/King's Guard mingling with tourists, civilians, men women and children has gone on enough. So much emphasis these days on health and safety and yet this potentially dangerous scenario continues. Keep civilians away!

I guess "Silence Is Not Golden" when you are trying to see when your favorite airport add ons are due out. I am waiting from KSEA KTPA KDTW KPHX FlyTampa has gone completely quiet in anything due out. Drz Des made no mention of KSEA. I actually bought KTPA from from VerticalSim - should I have waited for FlyTampa?? I wish these companies would give a clue of what is next. n the end they lose business as I may do elsewhere.

Leno says the Baker Electric is his only 'no maintenance' car, nothing ever goes wrong with it. In about 1905 there were 15,000 of them in New York City in and charging stations everywhere.

I noticed today that Navigraph on their website does not list the yearly Navdata Subscription only for around $30, The only pricing that is shown now, is the $90 yearly for Navdata plus charts. I don't need charts. So I have to pay an additional $60 a year for something I have no need for. https://navigraph.com/pricing

Interesting article but I don't believe a word of it. Traveling back in time means resurrecting people who are long dead. How do you do that? Maybe resurrecting vision of the past from light waves that are still travelling through the universe might be theoretically possible actually walking through a city like San Francisco in 1906 and experiencing the earthquake and shaking hands with people who have turned to dust is inconceivable to me. It means more than just travelling to the past. It means reconstructing the past. The people...the infrastructure...the geography...the events and their causes. https://interestingengineering.com/science/time-machine-using-l…

I admit it, I'm jaded. As a denizen of the 21st Century, the internet has shown me so much, as to make me imagine that I've actually seen it all, and can no longer be surprised. But then something like this pops up, and i say "What tha?!"

I've invested time learning DCS' A-10C, Flysimware's Learjet 35 for P3D, and now MSFS' Longitude. All great planes. Love these planes but my fingers are having a hard time remembering the very different key bindings for each one. I may be forced to give up one of them but I'm having a hard time deciding which one to abandon ship. So many choices but so little time. An embarrassment of riches for flight simmers.

A group of enthusiasts is working on recreating the RMS Titanic in virtual form. So far they completed 30% of the Titanic and have released it as a free demo: https://www.titanichg.com/demo-401 The visuals are simply breathtaking and it is a lot of fun to explore the ship. Even after a few hours you still discover new areas. I'm really looking forward to the complete model.

I saw 'Star Trek Beyond' on the TV menu last night and thought I'd watch it. I thought I'd watch it. But having unknown (to me) cast members playing Kirk and Spock turned me completely off. I switched channels after about 20 minutes. Kirk and Spock and the rest of the crew were strangers to me. Noel

Spare parts from the shuttle carriers got used for the SOFIA B747. https://simpleflying.com/shuttle-carrier-parts-usage-nasa-sofia/ The Roswell airport (KROW) is also a boneyard. We have a lot of cycled out airliners here. Roswell got the FAA's permission to close one of the three runways to use as aircraft storage. And a company here takes the useable parts and sells them. A number of years ago my friend who was the president of the Roswell Little Theater wanted to replace the seats in the Little Theater. I went with him to that hangar where the useable parts were being sold to see if the seats removed from those airliners could be used for the theater…

So, before I get flamed for even mentioning the CS777, let it be known that I own every PMDG airframe made for FSX, and totally love them all, as well as the Lenardo Maddog. I am currently pretty happy with the FBW A32NX in MSFS, and will soon grab the PMDG 738. While I am waiting for the release of the PMDG 777 for MSFS, I wandered over to the CaptainSim website https://captainsim.net/products/m777/m772/ just for a look-see, and, looking at the pricing at the bottom of the 777-200ER description page, it says $19.99!!! Now I know that the plane is just an exterior model with very limited systems, but I figured it was worth that low sum. EXCEPT, when I hit the purchas…

I'm not suggesting AI systems should replace us guys on Avsim when seeking help and advice, but as an exercise and out of interest, I thought I'd give it a go. What I discovered simply blew me away. This is my question followed by the answer... Q) For some reason I have just started getting stutters on final approach to some of the big airports in MSFS 2020. Can you suggest a reason for this? A) There could be several reasons why you are experiencing stutters on final approach in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Here are some possible explanations: High graphics settings: If you have set your graphics settings to high or ultra-high, this could b…
