  3. Hi: Yesterday came to my mind an old fictional scenery for FS2002 (or maybe fs2000?) but sadly my memory does not help me to remember its name or the author. It was a group of fictional islands in Mediterranean sea (i think, i'm not sure). It was shareware because you could only take off from the main island. The other ones were blocked with an invisible wall and it was imposible to land in them (until you purchase the scenery) I remember the islands were very well detailed and in the main one there was a huge montain similar to Matterhorn peak: Even there were AI flights between the islands. Yesterday I spent several hours googling, serching…

Really enjoying this place. I have learned a ton reading all the posts from everyone as I get back in to FS now that I have the machine to run it!! Going through all the tutorials again but will most likely revisit them all once I figure out what new hardware I will purchase. The computer can run most everything at Ultimate settings so far, but I haven't stressed it too much so time will tell. On a side note, I actually got CFS1 to run perfectly on the Windows 11 machine. I knew I had saved a mod from somewhere that fixed that old Joystick issue!! Thanks to all for sharing their experiences, frustrations and fixes. Looking forward to learning even more!…

I watched a good movie while having breakfast this morning. A 1949 movie starring Ronald Reagan and Patricia Neal called The Hasty Heart. It's an unusual movie that takes place right after WW2 in a jungle military hospital in Burma. This one ward has a half dozen occupants. Ronald Reagan is the American and there is an Aussie, a Brit, a Kiwi and a native who doesn't speak or understand a word of English. Patricia Neal is the nurse and there is a Scotsman who is an aloof loner and has no friends and doesn't want any. He is dying but doesn't know it. And he is put in the ward with the hopes they can befriend him until he dies. Noel

In a word they're terrible. In the month and half since Betty passed away and I haven't felt like cooking I've tried most of them and most of them have been thrown away half eaten. Last night was a Marie Callendar's Chicken Terriyaki Bowl. I threw half of it away. I never baked a frozen pizza that I liked. I can eat Hungry Man frozen dinners. They're not bad. Especially the ones with chicken. Or the Marie Callendar's frozen chicken pot pies. They're pretty good. But nothing else frozen I've tried has been worth it. I still have some frozen steaks and hamburger patties in the freezer. I'm going back to cooking. Cooking isn't much fun unle…

Its a fascinating formulae. Somebody should do some research and write a peer reviewed paper. What is the degree of stickiness that results from a given amount of Coffee? Was about to dive into a few games of chess on chess.com, when the liquid in my overfilled mug full of coffee decided to succumb to the force of gravity. Mopped it up with toilet paper, right between the keys, best I could, then gave it a blast with a hair dryer. A few keys still sticky when I tap them though, so looks like I'll have to pull the keys off and do some intricate cleaning with isopropyl alcohol. Luckily its a mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Silent keys, so they pop right off …

Interesting. Pump cold water down to heated rock where it is converted to steam and rises in an adjacent hole as geo-thermal energy. https://www.technologyreview.com/2023/03/07/1069437/this-geothermal-startup-showed-its-wells-can-be-used-like-a-giant-underground-battery/ Noel

  14. One of our local stations was showing a spaghetti western marathon of Clint Eastwood movies all day yesterday. I'm a Eastwood fan and watched some of them. Now we all know what a marksman Clint Eastwood is in his movies. He can sever a hangman's rope from a half mile away with his Sharps and kill six men with his sixshooter at close range. But this guy in a soldier suit was firing a Gatling gun from a wagon and killed a couple dozen cavalry men galloping by on horseback and never hit a horse. I'd say that was quite a feat with a Gatling gun. Noel

I happened to follow a Tennesee trucker (Gentry and Sons) who was contracted to transport the remains of the Elvis Jet from Roswell, NM to Florida, with a stop in Nashville, TN for a brief visit at Graceland. Today, a video of the arrival and unloading of the aircraft was released. Good grief, the way they "disassembled" the jet was horrifying! However, it became obvious why it would never become airworthy again. There is simply too much corrosion.

  17. So, moving from windows7 to 11, now my fraps finally broken, OSD kinda shows on DX11/OPGL game, but all screenshot is black, and no support for DX12/Vulkan. I mainly use it for monitor FPS and take screenshot picture, normally for flight sim via a joystick button, occasionally I make video record but that's not high priority. I have tried few known replacement, but the biggest headache is non of them support P3D/XP when having multiple window undocked (poped-out). and other issues here and there: MSI Afterburner with RTSS: Show combine FPS of all window, and somehow will slow down XP to total 70~80 (that's less than 30 for each window) even when…

Hello everyone, wanted to say Hi to all members and introduce myself. Just signed up to the forum. It's been awhile since I flew in a flight sim. Last time was in FSX. Now that FS2020 is out, can't wait to get back in the hobby. In the process of building a new computer and a home cockpit setup. Have a question for forum members. Was wondering if anyone knew of any aircraft and or scenery files for FSX and or FS2020 that would depict the movie scenes from the 1965 movie, Flight of the Phoenix. It's my favorite movie ever since I was a child and inspired me to become a pilot. Last time I checked, someone had created files depicting this for FS2004. Any info would be apprec…

So many choices of addons to offer a reason to fly but which one is right for you? I'm a long time simmer and user of many of these addons as well as looking to use others if they are what I am looking for. So this is just an off the top of the head topic that hopefully others can share their input on as to what they use or like or find helpful for them. To start I am a seasoned user on FSE and have been using FSPassengers and FSPassengersX for about as long. I own but dont use AirHauler2 and recently got into OnAir. Since I am waiting on MSFS to get VR support have only looked into Neofly but excited to use it. Other addons I have used in the past was FSCargo which …
