Anyone know why I still see aircraft traffic on the ground, and some in the air when I have all of my traffic set to zero? I set it this way for Vatsim but I still see traffic when offline. Aircraft Traffic Type - Off AI Airliners Traffic Density - 0 AI General Aviation Traffic Density - 0 Show Traffic Nameplates - Off

My "update" went smoothly ... but, as with previous patches, it appears some things get fixed while other (previously working) things get broken. My typical departure/arrival airport is Auckland, NZ (NZAA) and I'm surprised to see all my ILS approaches have disappeared. I don't use the rolling cache and I've tried with and with out all Community add-ons - and after numerous sim and PC restarts. Anyone else losing any approaches? Is there any way I can force a Navdata refresh/reload? Adam.

They say MSFS has 37,000 real-world airports whereas FSX had "only" 24,000, so at least I was expecting to find all the airports from FSX with 13,000 new ones. During my last flight, I was surprised to see that LFOT (Tours Val de Loire in France) was simply not there... It is not a major airport but it is not a small one. How could they forget it? It exists in real life and in FSX. It is not the first time I notice an airport is missing. I don't believe there are more airports than in FSX. What do you think? Did you also notice missing airports in your area?

After loading MSFS 2020, picking the aircraft and loading the flight plan, then starting the flight. I turned on the battery, turned on the avionics, started the engines, but the FMS doesn't come to life. My system is as follows; AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor 3.59 GHz. Installed RAM 32.0 GB, DDDR4. Graphics Card: SAPPHIRE Pulse AMD 5700XT 8 GB. Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, OS build 19042.685.

In previous versions of flight sim, I've downloaded real world liveries for AI aircraft and to fly mysef. However, I do like real world traffic in MSFS, so two questions: 1. Can I switch from real world to AI and replace the default liveries like I did in previous versions and 2. How difficult would it be to produce a system that would recognise the initial letters in a flight code and then load the correct livery? I haven't fully explored the MSFS file structure yet, but it does seem very different to past versions and a fair amount of file protection seems to have been inbuilt. I really don't want to see generic MS liveries anywhere.

The decrease in airspeed when entering clouds. Go ahead. Try it. Take a Bonanza, or Caravan... and go into an overcast layer. The speed will fall. Sometimes up to 10 knots. The rate of climb will fall. Then, when you break out the speed and rate of climb shoots up. No, it is not icing. Set the temperature at 20 celsius if you like. Does not seem like it is on anyones radar, but it is really annoying.

What does the FPS drop so dramatically when reaching a destination in the flight plan? This happens every single time. Weather works fine all the way and then Boom FPS drops and I have to turn it off and use live weather?

Hi, Anyone here tried out using the Thrustmaster Pendular Rudder together with TCA Sidestic and the TCA Quadrant throttle in FS2020? I am currently using the TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals and I want to replace them with the TPR for a more realistic experience. Would that be a suitable set up without any compatibility issues? Thankful for advice!

When I fly around the coast of the UK I see what appear to be white cliffs from a distance, which then disappear when I get closer. (This seems to happen in places where there is indeed a steep slope or cliff. It's just that it shouldn't be white - so I'm not talking about Dover etc!) I assume this is happening elsewhere in the world too, though I haven't checked. My theory is that what I'm seeing is the surface of the sea on the cliff. I used to get this kind of problem when I made scenery for Aerofly and I blamed it on inadequate terrain mesh. In that case it was usually a combination of sloping sea and sea on the cliffs. However MSFS is a bit different because som…

This is an honest question. I'm not trolling or trying to start another flame war. But there is something I just don't understand. Why do folks that fly mainly tubeliners care so much about using MSFS because of the "immersion" of the scenery? How much "stuff" on the ground can you see through the haze at FL40? Especially while looking out of the cockpit windscreen/windows of an airliner.

Every day almost, I pull the latest Dev mod from the brilliant folks at FBW for the A320 Neo. This morning I was impressed enough half way through my flows, that I felt obliged to express my appreciation. Almost each day, I read somewhere that MSFS isn't really a Flight Simulator. That it is a fancy camera system to explore the world, yes- but a true flight simulator- absolutely not! I'll grant those pedantic pundits that the Sim isn't where it can and will be....That said, take a look at this photo. First we have the ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT FBW mod for the A320. This morning I was going through my flows and suddenly realized, that I was operating this ai…

I have a keybinding on my joystick to toggle between the cockpit and external view, the external view annoys me because it has all the information about altitude/speed etc, is there a way to turn this off in game or through the cfg file, so it's just an external view of the aircraft like it was in FS9/FSX/P3D? Thanks

Hello simmers, As I read many topics about this, I wanted to say I don't think the question of MSFS being a game or a sim is not relevant. As long as you enjoy using it, gaming or flying, who cares? What I wanted to say here is about the way to define a good professional sim. The first I flew into a professional full flight Level-D sim at Air France facilities, I was surprised to see the visual was terribly awful, not even textured, something similar to what we had in the early days of PC simulation with no 3D acceleration. The instructors and trained pilots didn't care much about this because the important points were: The spatial environment: the most im…

Hello, I launched the sim today and the all the online data is gone. No Bing data, No Live Traffic, No Live weather I relaunched several times without any mods but no modifications. I have unlimited data ON but the server drop-down menu shows automatic and a wheel is spinning like it is searching for a server. Also my avatar name is showing but the avatar picture is blank. Are you also experiencing this?

Hi guys, first of all i'd like to thank all those who argued with me about the 30hz/60hz thing. It made me give it another try and so far i can say i am starting to like it. I still have to get used to the "visible" 30Hz refreshrate while near/on the ground but thats a matter of time i guess. But anyway i am still struggling with the issue i call microstutter (don't know if thats technically the correct term though) while turning during taxi which is quite annoying. I have tried these three setups: Monitor to 30Hz, VSync off, RTSS set to -1, Monitor to 30Hz, Vsync (ingame) on, RTSS off, Monitor to 60Hz, Vsync off, RTSS 1/2x @ -1. Overall…

Hello, till last week I used FSUIPC to configure my joysticks (Warthog) and my ruder (Saitek Rudder). Now I wanted to try to assign the rudder to MSFS. Have deleted any entries of the rudder, even the calibration in FSUIPC, the following issue even happens, when FSUIPC is not started! When I apply rudder, my elevator resets. This short video shows what happens. Here you can see my settings: wanted If anyone has any idea what is wrong with my setup, please help

Relatively new to MSFS (about two weeks), and my first impression thus far is that the default planes are near useless, especially the jetliners. For instance, the autopilot for the 747 and A320 is inoperable and the control's sensitivity is universally bad. The scenery is amazing but there's little joy to be had if you find yourself is unrealistic planes full of glitches. I don't mean to start another wave of negative comments against the sim. For the record, I have been a very outspoken supporter of this platform from its genesis, but given the unending issues with aerodynamics, autopilots and controls etc, I'd join the group of critics who demand better. While I u…

For (enter your diety here) sake! Invest in some drive imaging software and take an image of your C:/ HDD/SSD prior to tomorrows MSFS patch. If it all goes pear-shaped. It will take you 30mins (depending on how big and stuffed your drive is) to reinstall where you were before it all went south. Regular backup saves high blood pressure and other related frustrations. I am saving a backup as I type prior to tomorrows update. I use Paragon Hard Drive Manager. Have used it for years, saved my sanity on numerous occasions.

It is my understanding that when you shut down MSFS the content.xml registers what has been used at that specific point in time. I.E, if I come out of MSFS at say 12:30, my computer time, the content.xml file will give that time - yes/no? Well, I ask because mine does not and, moreover, when I start MSFS it should be with the content that was stated in the content.xml file and if e.g., you started at the airport where you logged out, the set up should be the same set up when you log back in - yes/no? Mine does not and loads something else in its place at that airport! For now, it doesn't matter that the content is incorrect, but more importantly why is there a c…
