Gates Learjet 35A

Hello, I cannot find how to map the master switch on the yoke to a joystick button (button under the trim switches on the lear yoke). Pressing it in the VC disconnects autopilot, it is also used for NSW I think. The default "Z" key or master autopilot, maps to "eng" (the button on MCP). Does anyone know which command, or FSUIPC offset to use for this ? Another question I have is that for the realityXP GTN750 pressing shift and right clicking in the top (to open the config menu of the GTN750) does not work. It only happens in the lear35, I can open it in other planes. Anyone have an idea what could cause this ? Thanks !

  2. Hi Folks, Re: 4.2a Hah - OK - who done it - who took my engine and threw it overboard - Mr. Roberts ? I opened the throttle for my first takeoff run and - wow - what a difference a day makes - she must have added some weight and became lethargic - she’s no longer the absolute rocket ship heading for the moon at 6000 FPM - it’s like she had an invisible third engine removed... That’s some seriously different performance - in the old model - you needed to be careful or you would blow through 250 KIAS in the blink of an eye - now - not so much now... Normal cruise in the old model was down around 82% - this one needs around 92%... This is in no way a complain…

Today I completed the next German fleetpack.. this time for Jet Executive International, who operate four Lear 35A (and one 55) as an international air ambulance service. They are based in Dusseldorf (EDDL) and Munich (EDDM), however they are flying all over the world, including Asia, Africa and North America. A pilot of them has a small youtube channel, where you can watch some landings or takeoffs at interesting and exotic destinations. Yes, the grey stripe indeed is interrupted by the front landing gear doors.. looks a bit strange, but that's how they did it. As the original aircraft have the Avcon fins, I had to get a bit reative with the tail to match the single…

Hi all, Just downloaded and installed the Learjet and I have a strange issue. When landing on touchdown full braking is automatically applied, causing some very short landing distances. The red brakes box in fsx is also highlighted. As far as I was aware the Learjet does not have autobrakes. This also happens if I am performing an aborted takeoff and close the throttles at speed on takeoff. Can anybody help? Kind regards Greg

Hi Folks, OK - a few in the oven - while my images don't do them justice - Wicked Bacons new base textures in full PBR are truly a wonder to behold... I've got my first three nearly done - still needs a few tweaks and an alignment issue here/there - but they look good in the sim... Fully remastered at 4096x4096 HD resolutions and I should have them out early next week... Hi Folks, OK - been flying the cargo version a bunch - it’s always been empty in back - yesterday I conducted a flight and to my surprise - the crates had magically appeared - what’s the trick to get the crate models to appear - I thought it might have been the load manager - but that doesn’t appear to work ??? Thanks... Regards, Scott

  10. Hello all, I seem to be missing the altitude selector from the main panel. In its place is an ADC selector. I've looked through the manual to see if I am indeed missing something, but I can't find any reference to it. Can someone let me know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

I was wondering how hard it would be to incorporate TCAS on the stock GNS that comes with the Lear. Since the Lear is not yet compatible with the RealityXP GNS 530, it would be nice to have this feature because currently when I fly I have no idea where other airplanes are lol.

Is there anyone that OFFICALLY knows how real world Lear pilots work the cabin altitude management system? I’ve heard that you just set it to your landing airport altitude and forget about it, I’ve heard you set it to your cruise altitude and increase/decrease in increments as you go, etc. so what is the right way to do it? Had a cabin pressure light go off a couple of flights ago so just want to make sure im doing it the right way.

Yesterday I finished the little fleetpack I was working on. With no German liveries available, I though it would be about time, given that a good bunch of Lear 35's are flying here. The operator is Air Alliance Express, a charter and air ambulance company based at the small EDGS Siegerland airport, just a bit north of EDDF Frankfurt/Main. They also have a maintenance base at EDDK Cologne-Bonn (Hangar 7), and a medflight station at EGBB Birmingham with D-CTIL, which is not featured in this package and still has the old livery. Also not featured is D-CEXP, which flies with an austrian ambulance livery. This may be a later project, as the livery is far more complex (a…

  17. Uploading to the Avsim library right now. Again, these are for V4.2 (the new PBR update) only. N31GJ is a medevac bird...there's a lot of Lear 35s flying around in the air ambulance role. I'm not sayin', but I'm just sayin' it sure would be neat if @Flysimware felt like making a medical interior...🤨

WOW! I finally found JustFlight had updated to 4.2 and I immediately downloaded. This thing looks amazing, and FWIW I LOVE the new sounds. One note. Engaging the YD doesn't seem to have any effect whatsoever. The tail of my Lear is all over the place and I have a harder time centering the ball with the Lear than the A2A Bonanza, and that can't be right. I really should be able to put my feet on the floor when the YD is engaged. Is this something unique to my Lear, or has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for an awesome update, guys! 🙂

I know it’s “All Falcon, all the time” here in the forum at the moment, 😁 but I was so pleased with the FSW Falcon, that decided to purchase the Lear 35A too. I just installed it this morning before leaving for work, and haven’t had a chance to do much more than load it and look around the aircraft a bit. One thing I noticed right away is that whenever the aircraft is powered up, either by battery power, or by the GPU, every light on the annunciatior panel is continuously illuminated, including flashing fire handles, as if the annunciatior test button was being held depressed. The problem is that I can’t find the annunciatior light test button (if it exist…

I ran into an issue this morning taking off out of L35 airport. On the ground doing my preflight ops, I noticed that the cabin altitude dial would not go past 4,000ft. It stopped right at that number and wouldn’t budge. So I shrugged my shoulders and continued on. Well after I took off I was climbing past FL180 and my cabin altitude caution light came on. Puzzled, I stopped the flight and loaded a fresh flight. When I did I was able to move the dial past 4K. But whenever I saved that same flight and opened it back up, it stopped at 4K again. It seems as though if you save a flight in P3D with the Lear and open it back up, you will have cabin altitude issues. Can anyone el…

So I have this checklist for the Lear that tells me the ignition switches are to be on for Takeoff and landing... but whenever I switch them on, they make this audible warning sound (or I assume that what it is). So my question is, am I not suppose to have them on? It seems my aircraft is trying to tell me to turn them off because of the noise.

  22. The new digital altimeter with altitude selector is great. Nice and clear. The altitude ‘set’ has tooltips that seem to indicate a middle mouse wheel button is pressed to set the altitude. Should there be a the light or an indicator that comes on to indicate this setting has been logged? Middle mouse buttons is also a setting with ChasePlane which can interfere.

Apologies if I've missed something, but am I right in thinking that now with ver 4.2a installed, I cannot use any of the nice add-on paint schemes that I had with ver 4.1 and earlier? Mr WickedBacon said (I think) that with 4.2 a new paint kit would be needed, or something (I'm not a painter). I can thus only choose from the default FSW-supplied paint schemes - yes? Ariel

  25. Flying the new Lear today, my journeys took me well into the late evening/night. As the sun started to set I figured it would be a good time to test out the new lights. The rotating beacon is such eye candy I almost cried. But I did notice something strange.... both the taxi and landing spot lights were burnin’ but they weren’t lighting up the pavement. So I quickly stopped the flight and sped up time to around midnight just to see if I could see anything but still no illumination. They’re bright white so they’re on. I also tested this at two other airports just to be sure. Can anyone else confirm this? Thanks.
