Gates Learjet 35A

1.) Is it normal to require 50-60% N1 to get moving during taxi? Even at 70 percent I am moving at like 8 knots. Small engines yes, but it is my understanding the Learjet will start rolling even on idle thrust. 2.) What are the idle power settings through flight? ITT limits, typical N1 ranges, etc. 3.) How do I control the nose up/nose down switches on the pedestal? pressing them does not seem to have any effect with regards to v/s or pitch.

Is there a way to dim the cabin lights? They are extremely bright in the cabin when flying at night.

I just recently purchased this airplane but I cannot seem to get the autopilot to engage. All of the lights on the panel work fine, the Avionics Master switch is on, the Autopilot switch is on, but if I go to engage the heading button and or altitude hold button the lights come on but will not hold either the heading or the altitude. Is there something I'm missing. I'm sure It's something simple I'm overlooking. Thanks for the help. Rodger

First, I love this airplane. Recently bought it and loving the fact that FSW has been updating and improving this plane for years. That's what sold me on it. I have been flying it and the MU-2, which I've owned for years, almost exclusively for the last month. I am trying to make sense of the engine performance in 4.2g vs the Flight Manual. I am referencing a Learjet 35A/36A AFM with an approval date of 4-30-76 and a 2-23-81 reissue date. It is possible it has different engines than what is modeled here? Hi all, Have anyone managed to reach pedestal switches or see anything at night in the wonderful Lear? The thrust levers, fuel panel and center pedestal is pitch black for me at night. Starting from cold and dark at night, is REALLY dark. Almost an impossible task. This kills night simulation for the Lear. thanks

Hello, just got the Lear 35 new for FSX, but can't really enjoy it yet - when switching any of the two BATs to on, I hear a very, very high pitch noise in the background. It's relatively low volume, but its super high pitched nature, like a dog whistle I would imagine, is extremely annoying and somewhat painful to the ears. I went to the sound folder and switched off "cockpitfans.wav", but that's not where the noise is coming from. Are there any other sounds that are initiated when switching on the BAT switches that you could tell me about so I can maybe try and tweak them to get rid of this noise? Ive looked in the manuals and cant seem to find a fix. When I press FPL I expect to see a page where I can enter my waypoints but there isnt one. Just the overview page. Is there any way I can reset the whole garmin or is there a file I can delete?

I haven't flown my 35A for awhile. For the last few days I went to fly it, but about 20 seconds after it loads p3d v4.5 CTD. I even downloaded the latest version 4.2g. I completely uninstalled the old one and installed fresh. Still after I load the 35A it CTD within about 20 seconds. I also have the C402 and the C441. I haven't tried those yet, but I guess I will now. I don't know what the problem is. I don't have any other planes that does that. This is the first time.

Can anyone inform me of how to properly use IAS mode? I took off out of my departure airport and once I cleaned up the aircraft, I trimmed it out to where I wanted it. Afterwards I hit ENG, then NAV, then ALT (hold) but once I hit SPD my Lear started to pitch up and down uncontrollably. I was still under 10,000ft so I was just under 250kts. How does this button work exactly? To my understanding it is suppose to dictate your VS by where your throttles are. I had them pulled back to maybe 50% when I pressed the button but then my aircraft got all squirrelly on me...

Does anyone using Flight1 GTN750 has the DCT TO button not working? All softwares are updated: Lear 35A v4.2G, GTN 750 v1.16, P3D v4.5 HF2.

I noticed that the warning panel now also has an indication light for the air cycle machine (FREON ON), but when selecting COOL on the COOL/FAN switch this light does not illuminate.. in fact it never does, only when powering up from C&D. Shouldn't it be on with the switch set to COOL?

Hello, Lets go scientific... Im struggling to climb using high performance figures, i got to get the airplane to its maximun temp performance and all i get is a subtile positive VSI to achieve a imperceptible rate of climb.... I feel the new updated plane king of weak... This is climbing to F400, going above F380 and engine temperature up to 745(which ive read is max continuous for short periods, also read this article where the Cp explains going to 800ITT to achieve +4500fpm, which is confusing for me according to readings 745 max)....but anyway i feel like, the aircraft does not climb as expected. Hi all, Im trying to do a repaint of SE-DZZ which is a Learjet 35A from Scandinavian AirAmbulance, however Im facing some problems with the lines on the fuselage. How can I make it so that the lines match up? It seems to be quite challenging but I see that some of you have succeeded in this. Maybe you can shed some light into this how to do it. Thanks!

Latest version of the Lear installed (4.2g) but cannot get the Flight1 GTN750 to install in the panel. Have used the management tool following the instructions but no joy. Open to any suggestions. Thanks Bryan.

I was just wondering- does this aircraft show wear+tear and use over the hours- I'm wondering what the "repair" button on the first config screen does. I haven't had to repair anything yet!
