PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

Hi folks: I bought and installed the 747 a few days ago. Today I did a general navigraph update to 0217. Now when I try to load the 747 the screen stays black for a long time, then the graphics loads very slowly and the initialization begins, only to freeze at "initialization all systems...1". I uninstalled and uninstalled the 747 thinking the original navigraph data would load, however the 747 freezes as above. PMDG 737 loads fine. Any ideas? Lon Duncombe

Just a quick question on Stab Trim position. Is there a way to Display it on the EICAS or Pedestal is the only location. I know the 748 displays trim on the EICAS. Thank you

This is the second time I have the gpu is stuck on "disconnecting" with nothing happening. Are the ground crews on strike or is this a bug? The reason for this might be the fact that I removed the chocks directly with releasing the gpu. Putting the chocks back in place doesn't help. I can then request the air start unit and airconditioning unit and they will be connected, the gpu however keeps unclickable.

Sorry if this has already been asked, I do seem to recall a post about how to fix this but cant seem to find it. Using the latest Navigraph data manager and the latest AIRAC im still getting Nav Data out of date on the FMC of the QOTSII? Suggestions? Thanks Liam Carbin

In the tutorial is shows how to enter the sid and stars route but what about a route that has no sid or stars. I have a route I setup to go from KCID to KDSM and it had no sid or stars so I did not enter any other route info - but when I got to KDSM I was not correctly aligned. I would like to know how to enter the extra sections of this route into the FMC route page. DCT CID DCT CYCLN DCT DSM DCT (route made in SimBrief)

I am not getting my performance figures via the datalink. The winds are uploading but not the figures for cruise altitude, etc.. Fuel and ZFW is entered, etc.. What am I not doing that I should be? Thanks guys!

Unfortunately after installing it I faced some issues with signs ( see screens attached ) and when I connect GPU - it doesn't appear on the Overhead that the EXT Power is available. Hi All, I seem to be missing the taxi light switch in the Polar Air Cargo (N451PA) downloaded through the Operation Center. I have not found an option in the CDU to toggle it, but may have missed it. The other 400F's I have have the swith but this one does not ... any thing i can check? See the below screen shot: I have updated the livery to the latest one too. Hi, This may sound like a simple question, but I programmed a flight plan (CYYZ/CYUL) saved it then proceeded. to fly. No problem, Next day I wanted to use same flight plan but when I hit co route it says invalid entry. Am I hitting wrong button on FMC? Any help would be great. Cheers, George

Is it possible to turn this off completly? that right clicking on the clock doesn't activate it? because i was doing a long haul flight from EHAM - VHHH and somewhere midway during the flight i suddenly realised the chrono was showing a different color. since i was doing a flight for my VA i was starting to panic since they don't allow the use of time compression anyways i quickly tried a right click on it to deactivate it but somehow the color would not change back it was stuck so after that i decided to do it through the FMC and select "Auto time compression" to off color didn't change back so i decided to leave it be.

Doing the tutorial I get to the end and at 1800 ft, flaps 10, spd 149 or so, runway in site and straight ahead,, and then the Autoland light comes on, blinks and then states No Autoland. I ignore it and the plane makes a beautiful autoland anyway. Of course I have done something wrong,,just not sure what. I am supposed to have the Approach button set when close, yes?

Hi, The default texture doesn't look right to me as during the day the reg and selecal text displays white but at night with cockpit lighting the text appears dark. It's file: PMDG_747v2_NNumber.dds Any idea why this is happening? The flap limit plate text for example display white during the day and night. Cheers, Alex Macdonald

Hi, I use FSX-SE DX10, with Steve's fixer. I noticed that my framerate was getting hammered approaching cruise altitudes, and quickly realized that it was the contrails: as soon as I descend to a level where there are no contrails, the framerate shoots back up. While the custom volumetric contrail effects look great, they literally cut my framerate in half when they're active. Not talking about just a small hit here! This seems to be a DX10 thing--the same thing happens with the FSFX contrails, which is why I disable them in DX10 but use the FSFX weather effects. Is there a way to disable these contrails and use standard FSX ones? Alternatively, is there some fix for…

First flight for Boeing 747, February 9th, 1969.

hi there I have been flying the new 747 400 a lot this week so far. I would like to know when I select runway on fmc I select put in 20 miles put some odd reason the pink line doesn't appear for autoland for the plane to follow just shows arrows pointing to star airport the plane doesn't follow it because no pink line. I would really like to know how to do auto land on the new queen of skies 2 747 400 plane please from colin

Gauge backlighting especially analog standby instruments is very dark during daytime. I am using fsx, is this a limitation of the fsx sim? - David Lee

Hi guys, I am currently preparing a flight from the US back to EDDF. When plotting EDDF in the FMC I get this error "EDDF ERR: 36 RWY N/A. When I then go to DEP/ARR and select EDDF there are no runways or STARS. I had the same problem earlier when I left EDDF but could manually select 07C by writing it on RTE1 under Runway. Don´t know if this is a Navdatapro error or FMC. I tried to download the AIRAC again but the same error comes up.

After running into a problem of poorly visible landing and taxi lights in P3D when using PTA or any other shader mod profiles I started digging for explanations. Did PMDG screw up? What did I do wrong? Did my addons mess something up? After almost a week of digging I can tell you one thing, PMDG did nothing wrong and to be even more specific they actually did everything right when it comes to lights. Enjoying the Queen just got her. d/l the N475MC official repaint and it says it has an official options file. Many options are wrong though. N475MC does not have an RMI, lcd standby instrument or regular instrument, I also think it does not have a taxi light since it was ordered directly for GSS. the weights should be pounds not kgs since it is flying for Atlas now for a long time. Also little things like no push to talk buttons, no yoke memory. Just going off some cockpit pictures of this registration online. Thank you - David Lee

Thank you! That thing sounds so delicious when it starts up and shuts down, I always have to switch to outside view to listen to it, and then i get a big grin on my face. I just about prefer it to the engine sounds themselves. Excellent work guys.

Hi, I'm using a Saitek X-55 throttle, is there any way to configure it to use the B747? Any help with this will be appreciated!! Cuco

One quick question. On the PMDG for FS9, when on ground and hydraulics depressurized the rudder follows the wind. I have not seen this modeled on the V3 yet, but I have had some considerable wind on ground with no hydraulics pressurized. Any one experiencing this also? Is this a bug or just something I have missed. On the whole, Awesome aircraft. Handflies beautiful!! Just needed to point that out.

Hi Is there any way I can completely disable PMDG's ground service fleet? I noticed that when using the ground operations page that I can't stop the PMDG fleet from appearing. I would rather use my GSX fleet as their liveries match the handling agent or airline.
