PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

Thought that would get your attention. I'm hoping there's a few Virgin Atlantic pilots around who would be willing to make correct config files for the VS liveries. Have yet to see anything and there's only so much photos can do. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Firstly, great job by the team PMDG. It's a beauty to fly and probably one of the finest aircraft created for Flight Sim. I really love the new ground physics model. I noted a few things that I couldn't find "quirks" for in the manual. Not sure if they're bugs or how the real aircraft handles things. There's also a few other things too: - The EULA on the Prepar3d version reads that "It can only be used for FSX" on a few lines - There's a couple of references to the ol' 777 in the tutorial guide. I'm happy to point them out in more detail if you'd like? - I'm struggling to reset the baro. I can switch between Baro and Radios and adjust the values just fine.…

I can enter set speeds in the fmc like the 777 but I want a line like in the 777 E/340S meaning economy cruise mode at a specific point. How do I do this, it says invalid entry? Thanks - David Lee

Hi guys, here's my alternative cockpit lights colors for the new Queen. Disclaimer: I'm not a real 747 pilot, so this is "my personal" representation of a night 747 cockpit based only at videos and pictures colected from internet. I don't know if it's realistic or not. Some screenshots below taken at night and dusk. I'll upload my "747QOTSII_Colors.ini" if PMDG authorizes me to do so.

I thought I saw something in the introduction where it said programs like SimStarter would not be recommended. I did a search here and found some people using but I didn't want to hijack the VAS thread someone started so I thought I'd start a new post. Will SimStarter be compatible with PMDG's Queen? Thanks for any replies, I appreciate it.

Forgive my ignorance but the V speeds do not calculate in the Combi version using KLM livery? Am I missing a setting or does one have to try manually calculate these in the version above?

Hello The 747 is an airplane that traverses the world, and so I'm wondering if there is one single place where I can get reliable, current ATIS for the world. If not, can somebody recommend where to get ATIS for the US, Canada, EU and UK. Thank you.

Hello guys, I hope you can give me a hand with this. Tonight I was trying to do a flight from my hometown (SKCL) to Bogota (SKBO), but when I entered the origin airport's ICAO code on the RTE page I received the "SKCL ERR: 02 RWY N/A" on the FMC's scratchpad. I had never seen this before, so I can't figure out why I could be receiving it. I checked the airport's procedures on the AIRAC folder (1702) and they are programmed for runway 2 indeed. As a sidenote, my hometown airport's runway numbers were changed one month ago from 01/19 to 02/20. As I have an old scenery that still has them as 01/19, I suppose this could be the cause, but I'm not sure if the FMC relies…

So I'm loving the new 747, however I am having quite a major issue. I takeoff and climb to about 1500ft with no problems, then the autopilot starts to pitch the plane down, however it maintains level flight. Also the speed of the aircraft is very, very sluggish and doesn't want to go over 220-230 knots. The wings also are drooped quite far down considering a full aircraft that has just departed is climbing. They remain like how they look whilst the aircraft is on the ground. I feel like it may have something to do with the flight dynamics or weight and balance of the aircraft, however nothing I do seems to help. Don't know what I did wrong this time ... I've cleaned up my FSX a bit and uninstalled all the dead wood and now only the DOME light works in the Queen. All the other light knobs and switches to full and no lights display in the cockpit. I've cleaned my SHADERS folder and let FSX write new ones - could that be the reason?? I've done a repair of the Queen with no change. I've tried default scenery since the Queen freaks out at some third party scenery what landing and taxi lights concern but that doesn't bring back the cockpit lights either. Shall I uninstall (again) - I just don't want to go through the activation hassles again that I've experienced with the first…

I was on a quick hop across the ditch from YSSY to NZAA in a Qantas 747-400ER. I had set my weather with a tailwind of 100 knots and an outside temp of -50 at 37,000FT. About halfway in to the flight (1.5 hours) I received the FUEL TEMP LOW warning. I reduced altitude to 33,000FT where the temp was a bit warmer and the fuel temp continued to drop. I then descended to 27,000 where the outside temp was -34 and the fuel temp still continued to drop. It got down to -49c before I quit. Is this normal to drop that fast in that region? Dear all, I recently purchased EZDOK to complement the fantastic QOTS II. However, things have quickly turned sour. Because FSX issues can often be a mashup of misconfigurations between multiple software, I feel that this post could belong in either a PMDG or an EZDOK forum- I'm just completely puzzled. To make things worse, FSX doesn't let me take screenshots so I'll have to describe in words what's happening. First I installed QOTS II and it worked fantastically. Hi all, Had been in the middle of a trip from PANC - VHHH after about 8 hrs sim and 747 (P3D) performing very well. decided to goto bed for the night and so paused the sim (P3D V3). Came back in the morning and the sim had CTD, has anyone else had the same, ideas would be welcomed, this has happened twice now. 747 and P3D work faultlessly if i do a flight non stop its only when its paused overnight. Hi, I was wondering if the cargo loaders actually loads up the containers in to the airplane ? if so, I must have missed this part (doing the preflight). How do you trigger the loading then? simply by changing the cargo volume in FMC ? Dieter

Am I missing something? The option is enabled on the FMC, but they don't seem to work on the -400F?

I'm trying to set up controls for the new 747 and my throttles work all fine, but my yoke and rudder dont give any repsonse in the 747 at all. When I look in the FSUIPC setup, the controls are all sending their signal to FSUIPC. All other aircraft, including PMDG 737 seem to work normal, this problem only affects the 747. I set up the yoke and rudder controls in the same way as I did for the 737. I already deleted the FSUIPC.ini file and restarted P3D create a new one and did a new setup, but this doesnt make any difference. And I callibrated my yoke and rudder in the driver software. I'm using: Win10 64-bit P3D v3.4.18.19475 FSUIPC 4961 Saitek pro flight …

I've not long bought this and I'm still kind of tweaking my controls a bit. I don't know if this is supposed to happen or if I have a conflict. when I select my reverse thrust my speedbrakes automatically go to full up regardless of weather they are armed or not.Can someone tell me if this is normal or not. I am still plowing through the manuals but have not come across this yet,so I don't know if I can disregard it and carry on, or do I have to start looking for a conflict. Thanks

I did a little experiment with GPS failures (AFAIK some 747-400s did not have GPS, but it's not an airline option in the QOTSII) and the IRS drift was significantly large over a 2 hour time-span that the ND failed during the approach, and the map started to shift. No EICAS messages however, apart from the original "GPS" failure message. The QOTSII doesn't seem to do any position updating through navaids when GPS fails, but ANP remained at 0.05nm. The ND map shift (when it didn't intermittently fail) is ~1nm. I never used PURGE or GPS NAV INHIBIT in the POS REF page. The GPS failures were triggered mid-flight between Hong Kong and Guam.
