PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

Hi, I was wondering what happened to teh expansion model B747-800. On the PMDG website it says: this product is no longer in our catalog (B747-800 FSX)?

I have just conducted a short flight at EGCC Manchester in the UK, and I noted that the "approaching runway..." and "on runway...." call outs were using the designations 24L and 24R. These should be 23L and 23R. Are these designations being pulled from the default P3D database? I have noted other "anomalies" elsewhere, like "approaching runway 23" at EGLL London Heathrow (this no longer exists), "on runway 24" at EGBB Birmingham (again, this runway has been disused for some time), and "on taxiway"?? when I turned onto runway 20 at EGCN Doncaster Sheffield. Hi, One obvious thing I haven't really found anywhere in the documentation is a proper Boeing checklist for the 747-400 and the 400F types. I think there are some differences there. I know every airline has it different but doesn't Boeing have a basic template they suggest? Thanks!

Hi All, I have been flying the 747 v3 since its release without any hiccups and loving every second of it, until ... Over the last two flights I have done, I have had a CTD of the "FSX has stopped working and now needs to close" type. Both had one thing in common: both crashes happened upon retraction of flaps from 10 to 5. No hardware involved (using "F6" key to retract). The crashes seem to happen mere seconds after pressing the "F6" key ... I can hear the sound of the handle clicking into position and as soon as there is flap movement ... boom, CTD. Greetings! First of all, thank you very much for a newly refreshed 747-400 addon. It flies like a charm and I absolutely love it. There was just one small problem I have been having with it though. Every time I retract the landing gear after takeoff, or just at the very moment the nose gear touches down on the runway on landing, the sim freezes for a second before unfreezing. Because of this, I am not able to see the entire animation of the gear doors opening, or the nose gear touchdown smoke effects. I don't know if this is an FSX glitch or something else. I've been flying the BCF PW model PMDG house livery for a few days now, and I've noticed that the cockipit temperature on the ground tends to rise to very high (28~29C) without packs and a/c ground unit. Is it due to the heat from the E/E and Flight Deck equipments? Also, the temperature continues to rise even when I open the F/D OVHD Door. Is heat escape through OVHD Hatch not modeled? I'm also curious to what the FD Fan does. It doesn't seem to dischargee FD heated air to other compartments, and it also doesn't cool the F/D, so I'm guessing it isn't connected to an external port. Hi everyone, I know the main gear on the 747 hangs down quite a bit in the flare, but at some airports I'm unexpectedly smacking the aircraft into the ground. At some airports my landings are fantastic, but yesterday landing in KBOS on the ILS 33L approach everything was looking great and all of a sudden it's as if I hit the threshold of the runway with the main gear. I was manually flying and following the glideslope when it occurred. So what am I doing wrong? I have crashed the 747 a few times when landing.. cause the A/T - Speed button turns off on approach. What is the difference in the 747 vs 777? in the 777 when I am doing manual approach to land, I set the speed at a landing speed and until I touch down the A/T remains.. however in the 747, some times I notice the A/T Speed button has disengaged by itself and I do not notice it and crash land. What am I doing wrong? Another situation.. loook at that screenshot.. I have the A/T on, the SPD indicator is on and I am about to stall but the throttle is at the firewall ( not visivile in the screen shot) but the ending is not revved up.

Hi! Been trying out to enter my own time into the scratchpad for manual ground operations in the fmc... But I can´t seem to figure out what format to put time in, it always tells me invalid entry... Does anyone here know how to enter my own time?

Hello Dear PMDG-Team, thank you for your wonderful work. It is a pleasure to fly this beast. I'm currently testing all variants. The 400F is still my favourite because of the opening nose door. Recently I tested the 400M. One thing that I've noticed is, that I can't enter the passenger values for the upper deck on the 400M. Everytime I do this, the number is ignored or it will randomly change the passengers of the upper deck and the main deck. The ZFW is also changing but doesn't correspond to the number of passengers. I've looked in to the manuals but didn't find a hint on loading the 400M. Is this just me, doing something wrong or is this a little issue? My config…

Setting up from cold and dark panel state as per Fcom all fine until I start last engine and autobrake rto disarms and will not reset. Anybody got a clue what I am doing wrong if I load default panel state it will arm fine .

I'll preface this by stating I've run some searches on this forum and looked through Intro doc and FCOM. I'm curious about the maintenance schedule on the Queen. Specifically, when to refill engine oil. So far I've logged about 22 hours on N127UA, and I haven't done any maintenance... Is it time for me to turn in my wings?

Hello, In the new 747 by PMDG the default ATC won't let me turn to the atc. I try to push the buttons it tells me to tune to a station but it fails to work, when I try changing it manually it still doesn't allow me to talk on that frequency. It use ATC for runway assignment, and gate assignment, now I'm missing this feature for my flying. Any Help? Thanks! Jason

I previously owned the old 747 addon, and i enjoyed flying the 747-8 alot, i was wondering, will we be getting the updated queen, the 747-8 for this addon or is it planned in the future? if so, will it share the same cockpit as the 400?

Hello everybody, I got a problem I can´t solve. I´m sitting at the ramp in PANC, trying to start the engines. Panel state is cold and dark. The engine oil temperature is the same as the outside temperature (-9) Naturally the engine won´t start. Is there someting I´m not seeing here? I would be grateful for any solution... I'm loving all the little things in the cockpit. Every time I flip the seatbelts on, that little display says PA IN USE, as if the FAs are making an announcement, then it goes back to VIDEO IN USE. Nice. Also, the sounds are amazing guys. Even out of the ###### speakers on my monitor (the cat chewed through my good speakers power cable LAST NIGHT) it sounds amazing. I'll have to try the headset next monday when the GF is at work for 12 hours! Job well done, guys!

I have purchsed and installed the 747 v2, but the Operations Center does not recognize the purchase. I am unable to add liveries as the 747 does not apprear. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you Michael Leuck

I was following the follow me car and after a bit I slowed and stopped without changing the throttle. I tried to move and it took almost full throttle to move and it moved slowly at that. It was like a brake was draging so I checked and parking brake was off.
