Hello Everyone, I appreciate this might be regarded as off topic, but believe me, having a remote CDU on a Tablet or iPad for the Queen is a must bearing in mind the FMC is more complicated than the 777 and 737ngx in my opinion. I also have the remote version for the 737ngx and 777 which are added bonuses. Pop over to the Avsim community and scroll down to the Remote CDU and for a small fee down load the Sim Server and follow the instructions. Regards.

I was flying from YSSY to KSFO last night and about 5 hours into the flight, I went to send a POS. Report on the PROG page, the mouse symbol turned into the windows loading circle. Then all of a sudden P3D crashed. I didn't get an OOM notification, and there also was not a crash log in my crash viewer. I don't know what could have caused this. I did let the simulator do it's thing for a few hours undisturbed and then when I came up on the next waypoint, I sent the POS report. Regards, Rob

Is there a option in the FMC to change the "No smoking" to "No Electronics" like in the T7?

Is it just me or does the wing flex during turbulence seem a little extreme? I am not criticizing PMDG. For all I know it could be 100% correct. But to me it just looks extreme!

I've made a few flights with the 747, but I only got a minimums call (the BA 50 Above and Decide calls) on the first flight. Since then, I have not had any aural calls. After each flight, I save the situation, and then re-load that situation for the next flight. The PFD behaves as expected as you go through minimums, but no aural call. I've just loaded from fresh a new flight to give it a quick test - slewed the aircraft out a bit, and got the audio for minimums . I then slewed it back out again to try a second time, and this time I didn't get a call. Is there some logic at play that prevents an aural minimums call under certain circumstances? Perhaps somethi…

Hi all, just have been realizing lately (specifically the Atlas Air livery, although I would assume this carries throughout all liveries), that the autothrust doesn't automatically go into CRZ mode, but instead stays into CLB. Not sure if this is a known bug or an unknown bug, but incase it is unknown, I thought I'd post it here. Unless I'm doing something wrong however it works with the 777 and 737 so.. I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything correctly. Regards.

Hello all, I'm not sure about anyone else's opinions but for me, at least, the 747-400F should not come without an Emirates SkyCargo livery. Whilst this plane was in development, it was the one livery that I was really looking forward to, and I know a lot of my friends and other pilots were too. Would it be possible for someone with the expertise to make this livery as it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Harry

Hey folks, I've been doing some research and can't seem to find an answer. I would like to remove a few views from the cockpit view cycle, such as the observers seats. Is there a way to do that? Scott

747 crashes nearly every time - have managed a couple of 2 hr flights only - with dinput.dll error. Google says its to do with my input hardware - mouse, keyboard, etc. This is the only plane that has this error- have P3D v3.4 - other PMDG planes run ok and other 3rd party planes. Have reinstalled etc but no luck, also moved hardware to different sockets as Google suggested but no luck again. Been running P3d with same inputs for years and nothing like this error. Anyone with any ideas ? Denis Brown

Setting up a real route in the Queen I find a couple sections of the route the fmc will not take in either column. Here is the actual flight details: MKK4 CLUTS R465 CIVIT R585 FLEXX 3200N/13500W 3500N/13000W ALCOA ZONSO OSVEE1 The FMC will not take 3200N or 13500N or 13500W or 3500W and the last one OSVEE1. Should I just leave those out or? This is the actual flight http://flightaware.com/live/flight/GTI4014

Hello! Release of QOTSII motivated me to finally read all four Type Rating Courses released with the first Queen of the Skies for FS9, and I consider it is VERY useful familiarizing and training material aimed to obtain the best experience possible from the simulation. I was wondering: haven't you guys thought about updating existing ones / releasing more volumes? On the fourth one a fifth was mentioned (about different approach types) but never released. It would be awesome to carry on with this documentation in order to master some techniques in the Queen and discover some "quirks" that are not evident just out of the box or on FCOMs / QRH! Thank you in advance,…

Hello everyone, I absolutely love the new 747! Got the 747-400/-400ER QOTSII paint kit right away and went to work. I noticed however the paint kit isnt complete like other PMDG paint kits ive seen. There was no Texture.cfg, no thumbnail psd, and no N Number psd. Is this the same for the other 3 paint kits? Or are theres files in one of the other paint kits?

Good afternoon, To all you painters out there, I have a few fictional repaint requests. Yes, I know that these airlines never operated the 747-400, but did operate the 747 in larger numbers. So here they are. I don't see this listed in the issue tracker, and I can't find any good hits searching this forum, but for me the fuel-indicator on the POS REPORT page only indicates current fuel, not the fuel on board at the time of crossing. Indeed, watching the page, the fuel will tick down synchronized with the totalizer. FCOM 11.42.43 describes that it should work just like in the 777, showing the lesser of tot or calc fuel at last waypoint. So the question, is this just on my installation, or is it a bug?

Of course I found the readout, at the left side of the console, next to the throttles, but there isnt anything that moves the setting, or that lets me read the vallue. I found some posts about the old 747, about having to setup joystick buttons for control, but I tried default, as well as FSUIPC, but I cant get the trim to move visually and I cant check anything because I dont get a label with a vallue. So, where can I adjust the trim? How do I read the vallue on the indicator? And how can I connect it to a controller?

Hi ! I feel stupid for asking this, since there obviously is something I miss. For the 777 getting the V speeds calculated is simple and according to the tutorial included with the 747v3 it should be straightforward for the Queen also, but for some reason no V speeds are calculated. Also checked out a Youtube tutorial and there also speeds are shown. Is there some secret for this for the 747? /Petter

Hello guys, firstly, I want to congratulate PMDG for this wonderful airplane. Secondly, I have a little problem. I am not sure if this is a bug or just my stupidity. Since I had to go around today, I noticed, that after pressing TO/GA the thrust levers increased and my A/T activated in THR mode for a 2000 FPM climb. Roll and pitch modes changed to TO/GA. That's how the FCOM 4.20.15 (PDF page 673) describes it. But despite changng the target airspeed to the actual airspeed the targed airspeed remained the same as for the approach. Then, after having engaged CMD 1 and after LNAV was activated I selected a higher speed to retract the flaps. After that, I selected…

Quick question, I have observed when landing with the autobrake set I don't see the "brakes" message in the lower left corner of the screen. I do get it on the NGX and 777. In the 747 the brakes message appears as soon as I put enough pressure on my toe brakes (have the PFC rudder pedals with toe brakes) to disarm the autobrake. I also get the differential brakes message as well, just not when the autobrake is in use. It's this to do with the custom ground friction?

I have noticed that while the 747 has it's engines running and looking at the engine axhaust efflux effect i have a significant frame drop..If i shut all the angines the frames goes back to normal (30 and above). If this is the case with the particular effect,is there any way to disable this effect? This happens only when i press F11 and look at the plane from outside.. Thanks in advance..

yesterday i landed at KJFK (-12°C), but the plane would take forever to stop. does that mean there is an iced up runway simulationn implemented or did i simply mess this up myself? i am thinking maybe i disabled the auto brakes (where set to 2) accidently with the toe brakes after touchdown? hard to tell since you don't get the FSX "brakes" message when auto brakes are at work. did anyone else experience this? thanks, Denis

Hello, I was doing a flight from Hong Kong to San Fransisco, and it was flying great, until 5-6 hours later it crashed. I was asleep so I didn't do anything, let the airplane cruise.
