PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

This is something I noticed on my first long haul across the pond with the 744. No matter what I tried (different GPS formats that are accepted by the CDU variant installed), I was not able to display a calculated ETP on the ND. This seemed a bit strange to me, since the 747 still falls under LROPS(EASA)/ETOPS(FAA) regulations, with the 747-8 having ETOPS 330, for instance. After talking with a friend about this and finding out that a lot of airlines actually use this feature on their 747's (I have no hard evidence, however), I was wondering why this feature isn't simulated by PMDG? Hello Can anybody confirm what the function of the 'flight attendant alert' switch is? It is labelled with words to that affect, no access to the sim at the moment and can't find any screenshots or mention in the FCOM to show you? It is located at the very rear of the pedestal below the intercom selector panel. I am guessing that in the real aircraft, where fitted, it illuminates something in the galley/door areas to request their seats are taken?

Hi guys Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or wondered if it's a feature that can be enabled - basically, on the GE (CF6) variant there isn't really a delay from moving the throttles and I see it's enabled on the RR variant. It's hard for me to explain as I don't have any experience of flying it or engineering it - the delay is only a few seconds but would be nice if it could be implemented. Is there any options for fur seat covers? on those long 7 hour flights, my bottom starts to hurt since the seat cover is so firm. will it be included in an update?

Hi , Just wanted to show a short video of flying the PMDG B747-400 with a B737 cockpit. I believe this is a first time ever!

Two questions here 1 - i have switched off first officer screens but have not seen any fps or smoothness improvement. Also other 'performance' options seems to give zero boost. 2 - i have limited fps by NVI, but i see quite big fps fluctuation with 747 - up to 8 frames with fps locked at 30. As i remember PMDG planes from FSX, those were quite consistent regarding fps, or am i wrong here ?

Hi there! All I can find are the QRH non-normal checklists, in the FCOM there is a nice and detailed description of the cockpit flows, but no checklist as far as I have seen, can you guys point me in the right direction?

As I'm running a multiple monitors setup and the 2D cockpit which I loved so much in the PMDG747x is definitely gone, I'm forced to use the VC Cockpit in the QOSII. Of course, this is more eye candy, but brings back the need to move levers and switches using unrealistic key strokes and mouse clicks! However, I still have hope that somehow it is possible to undock the overhead panel, the radios, the throttle and the EFIS display as I'm used to in the PMDG747x and move them to a second/third monitor. From a first quick glance through the QOSII-cockpit (I bought it only a few days ago) I realised that undocking is still possible for at least some of the panels: the CDU, the…

I saw a topic about the RAAS volume, and since I just purchased this beast, I am not up to speed. I did own the original PMDG 744 though so my understanding is fair. Now the RAAS option is new and provided by FS2Crew. I see that the volume is in the add on options menu. The problem, I can't get it to stay turned up. It defaults to somewhere around 30% judging from the slider. If I crank it up to 75% to really hear it, it goes back to 30% when I save and close. What could be the problem??

Hi there, I am using P3D and as I spawned in the 747 with the Saudi Repaint, the fuselage looks like it has a line running down the middle. This looks like some type of error to me. I have always flown the PMDG 747X in FSX using a 2D cockpit and drawing panels to other monitors. I hate panels popping up (quite unrealistic) and not having a global overview over all the instruments in the cockpit at every time. The PMDG 777 came without 2D cockpit which prevented me from buying it. The PDMG 747 is my favourite aircraft and I definitely want to use the QOS II, so I bought it but didn't find a 2D cockpit so far. Cockpit view stays empty if I switch to it. I know that according to the OMDG homepage the P3D version doesn't provide a 2D cockpit, but the FSX manual of the QOSII mentions both the virtual and the 2D cockpit, so I 'm a little bit confused. Just got done with a new livery Hawaiian Airlines and when load it into the sim nothing works, no gauges, screens fail to come on and no buttons, knobs and switches work. It opens with the gear up as well. What is the trick to making your livery active in the sim? I have changed both number textures in the texture folder to a new number. I have copied an original .ini from a similar version (Cargo) and changed that name and pasted it back into the main .ini folder containing all the .ini's. I then also pasted that changed .ini into the texture.Hawaiian Air folder but no luck. It seems a bit overly complex just to paint a livery for this plane.

Whenever i try to adjust theo radio frequency, i always get the word DATA on the freq i am switching and it goes to 136.975, it is very frustrating, as i am close to achieving a frewuency and it switches to 136.975, what is that, is it a bug?

Whenever I load into the 747 it will freeze the sim unless it is the 747 with Rolls Royce engines. Any ideas?

I've noticed that after a long flight with the Queen my ground textures go totally blurry. If I go into settings and make a slight change to something the screen will rewrite and they will come back (for a while anyway). This only seems to happen with the Queen. I'm at work now but will post some screen shots when I get home.

Hello everyone! As a kind-of old school sim pilot, I always like to have a physically real CD for my aircrafts. My previous PMDG products, the 747 v2, 777 and NGX were all purchased through Aerosoft as the box edition. I would like to ask when will the box edition of the 747 be released? Thank you for your hard work over the past few years and I'll definitely buy the new QOTS when the box edition is released!

I dont want to do a full paint just a Dirty layer for someone with far more skill than me. WIP, Ive done work on all small things put they dont show as you need to zoom in but you get the idea.

So, i was in push back and was starting the engines and accidentally hit my throttle up while the engines were still starting. The engines made the sound that they were spooling up like normal and got to takeoff sound with the buzz, but the instruments showed they didnt get to that thrust level at all. This is just a small little issue I found. Really not a big problem.

I've noticed this on a couple of planes that the DME to the ILS isn't showing on the PFD. It only shows --- Brian Swintal
