PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

I can't get the Queen of the Skies working on my FSX system, I've tried both DX9 (as suggested) and DX10PreviewMode (which I usually use). The VC looks fine but the Exterior Views only show part of the aircraft, the rest is rendered transparent (see screenshot!). PMDG addresses this problem only for the rotating aircraft on the welcome screen but not in the flight itself. It happens no matter whether I use DisablePreload=1 or not and it doesn't matter whether I select a default aircraft before or not. Any help appreciated. Maik Berchtold, Switzerland

OK, This is a bit strange, but there seems to be a pattern. The last 4 or 5 times I have done a 744 long haul and had the sim pause at TOD for more than a few hours, FSX suffers a crash. The Queen is the only airplane this happens with. Any idea what might be causing this? No blaming the Queen, but there does seem to be a pattern........ Scott

Hello Congrats on a great aircraft but I have one bug that i know of while I can see the landing/taxi/strobes etc lights on externally there in no light effects ( illumination) showing on the ground.Ive tried just about everything on the forum to fix the problem but no luck at all. Is there an update coming to fix this? I am out of ideas.

Anyone have this spiral bound manual by Capt. Mike Ray? Looking for opinions. Pretty sure I cannot post an Amazon link here but they have this manual for about 55 bucks.

If this is the logic of the 747 that is fine. I change the speed manually as the airplane is in a mode like vnav/lnav. I dial the speed to a lower number than I am currently flying, and then press level change. Level change resets my speed from the last number I just set, to the current speed of the aircraft. is that by design? Thanks - David Lee

Hi, I recently purchased the PMDG 747 v3, however when i load into the sim, half (or more) click-spots aren't there, meaning that i can't use the fmc, for example because the buttons aren't physically clickable. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Hubert

I started simming with the FS95 more than 20 years ago and since the very first day I was hoping that one day a 747-400 simulation like the one you now created would become possible... Hi When flying the 747v3 and turning on the pedestal flood lighting the radios and evacuation panel are a lot darker than the rest of the floodlit pedestal. Please see attached screenshot. Is this a: As it should be or b: a bug?

Hi guys, I really don´t know if someone already asked for this but is there a main reason why the CPDLC feature has not been implemented into the new 747? As I installed now the CPDLC tool from Hoppie with the style of the 747 for the North Atlantic event tomorrow on VATSIM (a lot of controllers will use the tool), I was just thinking that this feature could look fantastic directly build in into the 747? http://members.optusnet.com.au/~cjr/CPDLC.htm Is there any possibility for external programmers to implement this into the FMC or the 747 directly? Hi guys, Firstly, thank you to anyone that responds! I seem to have a VAS issue when flying the 747. Any other aircraft seems to work fine, but when using the 74 she just wan't to OOM when I reach the end of my flight. Sometimes at the start too depending on the scenery. I get the terrifying ding dong type alert when landed or approaching the field. Sometimes farther out depending on weather. I appreciate that I use AS16, ORBX Global, Vector and England as well as REX 4 clouds so the sim has its work cut out, but it only wants to OOM when using the 747. Now the sim doesn't always OOM. Using polar 747-400f polar air cargo n452pa when selecting the flaps in the fmc the v speeds should appear automatically as per the other 747vs i have been using this is the only livery thats not doing it? Yes i have checked the cdu and got yes to v speeds to auto and iam doing the same thing as per the other liveries so dont know what iam missing with this livery? Installed another livery from 747-400f section same issue?

I did the tutorial flight in P3D v3.4 no hotfix, and landed at KSFOv2HD (FlightBeam) at night and did not get and forward illumination. No taxi, landing, turnoff lights, pitch dark. Pretty hard to see, do I have to enable these from the CDU straight away? Angelo Cosma

Hi alltogether, I have a little issue with the RAAS system installed on my Queen. Allthough the runway is definitely long enougth, it yells "short runway, short runway". For example I start at Munich (EDDM) runway 26L (4000m/13000ft), it anounces correctly "on runway 26 left - 3950 meters remaining". But shortly after applying takeoff power, about the touch-down-zone markings it says "short runway". I tried several things to change the units, but it allways stays with meters. My setup is a P3D v3 (using hybrid Settings - alt in feet, distances meters), the displays in the queen are set to kgs (but changing both settings does not change the raas calls). …

I'm on page 20 in this forum so I apologize if I missed this somewhere. Why is it required for the high resolution 3D cockpit to be on for the panel push buttons to light properly. If that option is not selected the MCP panel push buttons will not show the white engaged light. The same can be said for the overhead panel when looking at the APU and Ground Power push buttons. When the ground power is connected or when the APU is running and available the buttons will not light up. If anyone has a way around this please let me know.

Just landed at FlyTampa's OMDB and when I requested the ground vehicles, they pooped up behind the airplane and then givae birth to a clone of each vehicle. The cloned vehicles drove up the airplane and connected to the airplane in a normal fashion. Then the original vehicles while still parked behind the airplane, mirrored every movement and connection the at the cloned vehicles ( attatched to the airplane made). Final result looks like this. Has anyone had this happen to them? This was after loading a saved flight at TOD. Notice the hose hookups on the vehicles behind the airplane just going up to thin air.

Hi, Is there a 747 Q2 signature banner somewhere or is it been working on? Just wonder if I missed it.

Dunno if I am doing something wrong here, but if I tune 118, and then turn the small knob to scroll downward through the .000 freq, it changes to DATA. I have to tune the .700 first then turn the bigger knob down to 118. Can someone confirm this?

New York. Avsim. 26 Feb 2017... So we set off from JFK in our British Airways 747-436. The usual ground delays, and we have fog as well. Thick fog. Like, cant see the wing tip fog. OK, we can deal with this. We even have a para-visual display. We fuel up, with an additional 10,000kg for ground delays, ATC delays and weather. This is gonna be a long night...
