PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

Hello guys, I have a very strange thing going with the 747 while its still on the ground (at the gate or on the runway). On the PMDG website there is an excellent type rating course for the 747-400 - dating back to FS9 in 2006. I guess this tutorial works perfect for the new Queen of the Skies (747 is a 747 ;-). However, this course comes with a couple of saved flight situations that probably do not work e.g. P3D. Has anyone probably already "converted" them to P3D or would it be possible for PMDG to provide updates so that this excellent tutorial could be used again? This would be great! Best regards, Holger

Hi all Sorry if this has been discussed previously, but does the licensing for the 747QOTSv3 allow for an FSX installation on a PC and an FSX SE installation on a laptop? I expect not, but would like clarification. Additionally, I can legally install FSX SE on 2 individual PC's, using only one at a time. Can I install 747QOTSv3 into both installations, only using one at a time? Many thanks, Jay

Hi , 747 V3 Update doesn't run on my Operation Center. I push the install Button iand then it opens another black window with messages. After a while nothing happens. Do you have a solution! Best regards Hilmar

Hello, After flying the 747 for about 2 month, 3 problems have shown up that I think deserve attention. 1. The engines have this great animation where they vibrate under stress, but everyonce in a while, they vibrate at the most random times. Its perfect flying weather and no turbulance and they just move back and forth, if I remember correctly, they have done this on the ground too. Not too big of an issue, but looks really weird when it happens. 2. Theres an FMC glitch I have had on multiple occasions. When setting up the plane for a flight, I go to enter in my ZFW, reserves, cost index, etc. and the ZFW is automatically entered in but in a smaller sized…

Hi: Noticed just know after updating the wonderful B747QSII that all the issues with missing hand-shape mouse actions over the buttons and switches in the panel were corrected and now I have everything working right as expected. Obviously something was wrong in the initial version, at least for me, but know all is just right!. Good work. Cheers, Ed

Hey all, my name is Joseph and im having an annoying issue with the 747. please note that this does not occur with the 777, even when i switch to it immediately when this occurs. now, i select my 747, usually air canada livery but i tried with all of the, it opens slowly, then it initializes and right when it hits zero it freezes completely, but im able to switch a/c. i havent had this issue before and it is really bugging me because i love to fly it. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi everyboby, I´ve a problem setting the MAA. I´m flying an RNAV approach Milano Malpensa Rwy 35L, as described in the FCOM page 144. MDA set to 1100 ft MAA=4000 ft 1100 is set in the MCP Reaching 1700-1600 ft (300 ft below the MAA) and setting the MAA to 4000 ft, VNAVpth changes to VNValt and the Acft climbs again. Whats wrong? Hello! First of all I just want to say thank you for this fantastic bird! But I have a little problem with it (not only since the update today, I have this problem since release). The 747 is "swinging" around altitude and route inflight. The problem appears with and without AS16. Hello folks, as I already watched several videos about this great product I noticed that sometimes you can hear a low chime tone as we know it as a passanger. My question is is it based on fixed times or a certain action by the simmer when this sound should play or is it random? My very best wishes to you, Patrick

Hello everyone, Is the ATC system on the new 747 FMC not simulated or am I missing something? When I press the 'ATC' button and am shown the 'ATC LOGON/STATUS' page, the four squares under 'Logon to' (where you're supposed to write the 4-letter code) are all greyed out and I am unable to type anything there. Hello! I am having a problem with the 747 autopilot. It swings trying to maintain altitude (up to +/- 1000ft) and the the entered route. I read of a similar problem with other users but their issue was the use EZDOK and I do not use EZDOK. Another weird thing about this issue is that I have my yoke disabled with A/P engaged, yet the aircraft responds to my inputs on the yoke with the A/P, LNAV/VNAV engaged. Anyone else experiencing this and/or thoughts? Thanks! -Cody

according to the intro manual if smart callouts are selected they sound only when the plane is on a G/S, but they dont sound. Honeywell in its manual says the opposite. [Copyrighted material] that worries me since NGX and T7. so how is it supposed to work and what Im doing wrong? thanks

I wanted to create this thread to make some comparisons with other flight simmers. PFPX had 13.9tonne (30644 lbs) remaining on yvr 747v3 ER FMC had 14tonne (30864 lbs) remaining at yvr during preflight BEFORE a wind update. 747v3 ER FMC had 23.5tonne (51808 lbs) remaining at yvr during preflight AFTER a wind update. I arrived into Vancouver with 21.9tonne (46958 lbs) remaining (on the rwy TDZ) The questions are: What is your experience between pfpx and 747v3 fuel predicted remaining and 747v3 actual remaining? My PFPX install doesn't get the AS16 wind feed as I have PFPX installed on a seperate machine. That may count for something, I don't know. The winds…

Hello, I updated the QOS ii this morning with latest version from OPS center. Everything seemed to install properly. However when I load my sim, "model not available" message...no plane, no VC, just abyss.... :( I tried restarting all that jazz....is there anyway to: A) uninstall/reinstall update B) fix the problem without step A C) simply go back to the previous version

So many cosmetic correctiions in this first update, but what I think it's the real annoying bug is not fixed, as I feared: the self increasing thrust during HOLD mode at takeoff (that's why I insisted on it, I felt it was not being given the right priority). Look at the screenshot in the attached link: green takeoff reference N1=98.7, real N1 at lift off:100.3 (and still increasing until 400 ft). If it was the real plane, it would be AOG with that issue!

Thanks once again for improving an already fantastic product Pmdg. I noticed this morning after the update that the wing flex issue has been addressed. So far this has been most noticable out of all the updates. So far I have been flying the Queen primarily and I am blown away to say the least, no complaints here. ( I should get back in the 777 also just to stay current which I find hard with the new Queen in town) I appreciate you guys listening to customer feedback and thanks for a great product, keep up the good work! So today Im flying as KLM Cargo from EHAM (Amsterdam) to KMIA (Miami) and I noticed from before and now that the flight level are incorrect in my plane... What do I mean by that? From Amsterdam to Miami the flight level should be even numbers, but instead, my FMC is "autostep climb" to odd numbers. I set the FMC to FL300 and after when there was les weight due to the fuel compsumtion the plane auto-climb to FL310-FL330-FL350. Now.. I shoud be flying FL340-FL360... and so on. Why is that happening? Is there a setting on the FMC (I looked but found nothing) to fix this? So I ended up flying only with LNAV, since VNAV will make the auto-step climb…

Can anybody confirm that the VriSim Hardware Products like CDU II and MCP Combo II work with the new PMDG QOS II? I've used them successfully with the PMDG747X, but I don't get them working for the new version. VriSim support is dead also. Maik Berchtold, Switzerland

We do a heck of a lot in our own code outside of the normal FS/P3D SDK methods - the engines are almost completely custom and the cfg and air file only represent a baseline that we go and modify internally. We're not pulling a fast one, the ERs do have more powerful engines on them, it's just not done in the simplified MS way.

Running latest update. I happened to notice a minor issue with the right, body landing gear. Ticket submitted! This is on the RR -400 Pax model. Anyone seeing this on any of the other -400 models? ***Update: Ryan has responded to my ticket, and PMDG is aware of it***

Hello to all painters! Here is one more request for you to file in your "to do" lists, with the hope that you will actually place it in the "to do quickly" lists! Canadian Airlines had a beautiful B747, registration C-GMWW, a -475 model, with the "Canadi>n" logo, (so that it would read the same in English, "Canadian", and in French, "Canadien"). It also had a beautiful large dark blue Canada Goose graphic covering the rear of the fuselage onto the tail. it would be great to fly it from Vancouver to Toronto!! Many thanks and regards, Roberto
