PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

    OK, I've just flown the tutorial flight for the third time and each time something has gone wrong. I am certain it's something I'm missing but it's a little frustrating to fly this beautiful beast for 2 hours only to not be able to complete the flight properly. The first time I flew it I was unable to achieve FL380. She never made it past FL360 even though I had it set correctly in the FMS. The next 2 times I have made it to FL380 with ease so I must have had something set up wrong. I'll chalk this one up to a mistake on my part never to be figured out.     Normal Routine of Installation: Kaspersky Disabled All installed well Restart PC FSX Enter Activation Code [Kaspersky still disabled] Error, "Activation Code not vallid" Dead Cockpit Uninstalled Same procedure Same result I've checked FIREWALL (although disabled) and nothing of PMDG is blocked and FlexNet is open for incoming and outgoing.     I am in the Polar Air Cargo DHL 744F and noticed that there is no taxi light switch. I went to the FMC and aircraft options and there is a switch to enable it. Did operators really not install (or remove) the taxi light? That seems strange. Thanks.

    After a re-load of an FSX-saved situation most of the FMC data incl. complete route, are gone. No matter if on ground or mid-air. Have started FSX first with an MS-aircraft and loaded the saved situation after. Also deleted fsuipc.ini. I am using already existing routes (rte) from NG737. Who can help or knows what I am doing wrong? Thanks Gerhard Dresch

    I have two minor issues and I figured i would make one post. 1) I set my Transponder to TA/RA and i keeps disengaging on the ground during taxi and it disengages on takeoff. Once I am in cruise, I have no issues 2)The Baro/RA knob wont respond when i scroll with the mouse wheel and if i click to turn i have to click multiple times to try and set a minimum (clicking 2000 times for high elevation airports can be annoying)

  11. Hi Kyle or Ryan, I noticed that the Cost Index gives different ECON speeds depending on engine variant. PW CI90 equals GE/RR CI180, more or less. I thought it was more an FMC variant problematic (if any) than an engine one... Curious about that. By the way, I would guess giving the real world data you may find around that the correct data is the PW one. Cheers, Alex

  12. Hi everyone! I've done two or three flights with the 747 now and everything goes great until landing. I configure everything correct with flying an ILS and as I'm coming into land, I see "LAND 3" and all is well, however my last two flights the touchdown has been so rough that I've bounced back into the air and land half way down the runway with landing rates over 600! Not sure why it's doing this considering everything is set up and configured properly... As in flaps set, gear down, flaps selected, and the aircraft doing a normal autoland. Any ideas on why it bounces so crazy on landing? David McDonough

    Good morning fellow Queen Pilots, So yesterday I decided to take the Queen (-400F) for a medium ranged cargo flight for our VA from EGSS (Stansted) to KORD (O' Hare Intl). The flight started of rather eventfully in that the fog was so thick at the departure airport, I had to try and figure out if it was really at the 75 feet visibility mins for the taxi! Fortunately, even though I was flying online on VATSIM, I was alone at EGSS so groping around in the mist for the right taxiway to get to the runway was quite safe in the end!     Good day. Firstly, thank you for such a well simulated aircraft! I was wondering whether there will be a more recent livery published for South African Airways? The livery provided is the old livery which was discontinued in the '90's I think. We did use the 747 with the new livery before switching to Airbus in 2007. Well done for producing such a beautiful simulation!

    Hello everyone, I have noticed that when its time to switch off one of the fuel pumps and the yellow "press" message pops up on the button it seems to flash, It happens on two different switches, Has anyone else had this issue with the flashing press message?     Hi I just got this msg during preflight work. Searched the FCOM and QRH. All I could find is that the C radio is not set to handle Data, ACARS. No big deal but how do I set it back, have not had this msg before on previous flights. Otherwise the Queen is working perfect, nice to handfly.

    Greetings! I'm writing to request if anyone can please make an Air India livery used on the 747-300. The livery is the same as the one included in the PMDG Ops Center for the -400 except the -300 obviously has no winglets. It also has a black dot on the nose rather than the red dot seen on the -400. The -300 livery also has Blue painting right under the cockpit windows (originally Black when first acquired in the late '80s). If anybody can make this livery (VT-EPW (Shivaji) or VT-EPX (Narasimha Varman)) then I would greatly appreciate it. I would most prefer the Black paint under the cockpit windows, instead of the Blue paint, to keep the livery more original. Thank you …

    If i was to make my own Panel State for the Freighter, by using the long turn around state, firing up the APU and Gen 1 to open the front and Large side cargo door and then switching to ground power again and turn of the APU to save fuel, and then saved it and selected it as my default panel state. What effect would it have on the normal 747-400 as that doesnt have the large cargo doors? As as far as im aware you set one default panel state for all variants? Many thanks in advance.

    Just curious what methods you all are using to display your equal time points on the ND? I have always been under the impression you must use the fix page and either create a new fix or draw a circle around a real fix at the specified range. However, flying across the Pacific, most of my waypoints are lat/longs which I cannot enter into the fix page. So how can I go about entering an ETP that is defined as a fixed radial/distance from a lat./long. coordinate? Regards, Rob

  24. Hello everyone I'm trying to assign the inboard amd outboard landing light switches to two separate buttons on my harwdare. The thing is, I can't do it. The key commands in the fmc only allow to control all the lights at the same time. I tried to create a mouse macro but fsuipc doesn't recognize the mouse click on the landing light switches (it works for the other lights, but there are also key commands available for them).   25. Good evening gents, During the cruise at FL 310, CI 320, GW 342.0 Tons and fma in SPD mode, the calculated econ speed is .839, which is in fact beyond the actual high speed buffet band, the airplane is now flying a .829. Does anybody know why? kind regards Michele Faraone
