PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

To coincide with my post on uncomfortably warm hydraulics in the queen, I'd like to ask for some advice on managing brakes in hot conditions (and when they become very hot.) I am currently doing a lot of cargo hops between Hong Kong and Nearby Asian Hubs in the 747 v3 (>2 hours. Mostly to Taipei) as my virtual airline provides better earnings on flying heavies in Asia than at Home on many flights... (Very simplified explanation.). Just bought 747-8 and it says i don't have 747-400 2.10 installed (i have v3).

Hi all, When i put my cursor over the PFD i don't get the option to click it for a 2D popout. It just doesn't work. All other displays are working fine when i click them i get the 2D popouts. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the 747 but it still does not work. Any ideas?

Hey guys, I know that this has been a known issue with PMDG aircraft for quite a while, but I only recently started experiencing this in my sim. I run FSX SP1+2 with AS16. Mostly near cruise altitude, my aircraft can hardly ever maintain stable flight. It 'zigzags' around the LNAV path, first either turning to the left or right and then turning in the other direction to compensate for its earlier deviation. Hello, I run the PMDG 747 v3 (QOTSII) on a multi-monitor touchscreen-equipped Server PC (FSX SP2, WIn7 x64) and display the scenery on 7 networked Client PC's, using WidevieW-X, and also use WideTraffic-X to 'see' the AI traffic spawned by VOX ATC. The system has worked well with a variety of aircraft including the PMDG 747 v2, FSLabs A320X, AS CRJ700, DA Fokker 100 and Majestic Dash8 Q400. But with the PMDG 747 v3 (QOTSII) I get severe periodic stutters on the Clients whenever I switch on WideTraffic-X. After purchase of PMDG 747 QOTSII, attempt flight from KSEA to RKSI, About 4 hours into the flight I get the error message that Prepar3d not responding and only option is to quit the program. Tried a second flight using the same flight plan and get same result. Setup a test flight from KFLL to KSEA using the PMDG 737-800, not using any third party scenery or weather program and flight completes successfully. Same flight plan, only now using the PMDG 747-400, again no third party scenery or weather program, and about 3 hours into the flight get the dreaded message Prepar3d not responding. I'm having an issue with the QotS II where it's not reloading a saved flight properly. The save action appears to go OK (the FSX .flt file saves fine, and the associated panel state files in the PMDG\747 folder are created) but when I load the flight in FSX, the aircraft loads in the standard default state. Interestingly enough, I also have the P3D v4 version installed, which does load a saved flight just fine. Also, other FSX save & loads with other aircraft (such as MD-11) do work fine. edit: Forgot to add that I can go into the FMC after the flight loads and load the panel state manually, but of course that can get pretty hairy trying to do that when the AP loads d…

I have performed 4 tutorial flights today, by the book. Every time my 747 change HDG during auto flight and the A / P, HDG / SEL- SPEED- and ALT knobs has no effect at my aircraft. I try to use HDG / SEL mode but no knobs works. I disconnect A/P and then I can not reengage it. I try both realistic and easy mode. I'm forced to manual fly and land the aircraft. At the last flight I press the HOLD button, just as a test. That caused my 747 to fly upside down like a fighter jet. I have notice Cabin Alt Warning but the tutorial do not cower that warning. I have mo tailstrike warning. My CMOS clock shows the wrong time and date. I have a new battery installed.

Is there anyway we can get a turnaround panel state for the 747? Rason Bryant

I am wanting to paint the tractor and ground equipment in airline colours but have only been able to find the power unit textures. However, painting that file and placing it in the aircraft textures folder doesn't work anyway. Can anyone help me solve this question?

Hi, I tried to insert an offset to get around a storm, but as the weather changed, I erased the offset and since then only the pilot's and isle fmc show "MSG" and do not react to any imput e.g. selecting waypoints or typing in a new speed. all the other keys and the copilots fmc do work well. when I go to menu in the pilots FMC "MSG" is not showing anymore. Anybody ever had the same issue? or maybe an idea whats wrong? Thanks in Advance guys and many happy landings!

I add some photo from today's flight with my 747. When I connect A/P after T/O at about 14,000 feet AGL. The aircraft do not follow FMC input data. I take control and fly it manually for about 5 minutes then connect A/P and the rest of the flight follow the route and FMC input.

There is something that does not convince me too much during rotation (flaps 10): I lift the nose at about 2.5 deg/sec until 15 deg, then start following the FD, but the speed always increases too much, it is absolutely NEVER V2+10, but V2+20 or even 30 and it always goes above the flap 5 speed, then the FD bar rises and the speed decreases (if I keep following the FD). I suspect this could be related to the bug that after 80 knots the engines thrust erroneously self-increases and at lift-off it's about 3% higher than it should be and this causes a too high acceleration... This never happened on the 777 and 737, they stuck to the V2+x expected speed...

It may be my BIOS watch causing the problems I experience with PMDG products. I have a new computer. I have tested replacing the BIOS battery but the clock and date are still showing the wrong value.

I've noted a strange thing in the 747. During a normal flight today, the aircraft changes course and in the same time HDG, ALT and Speed switches stop working. Normally I can change HDG, Speed and ALT during auto flight with these switches (the 747 is in HDG mode). When I restart the AS16, everything works normally again. Does anyone have knowledge of what this depends on? I have programmed AS16 to Easy mode.

Hi everyone, This is a screenshot of the Engine Start Panel on my GE model (PMDG House livery) 747-400v3 (QOTSII): I was under the impression that all GE models would have a (momentary with annuntiator) Autostart Switch, in the area I have circled.. I just installed Windows 10 and in the process reinstalled FSX and all the associated programs. I'm in the process of setting several liver profiles in PFPX and TOPCAT for the QOTSII. Out of curiosity, are the current weights in PFPX and TOPCAT accurate to the QOTSII model?

Hi, is it possible to have a longer and more persistent contrail with the 747 in P3D v4? When I look at the AI traffic, they all have a very long contrail, while the 747 has a short one that quickly disappears. Are there any parameters that can be modified in the aircraft.cfg file? Thanks.

I've read the argument of the influence of some 3rd party scenery and the FPS drop when switching on the B744's lights but why will the FPS drop when you switch lights on over the ocean? And why will the same airport (FSDT Vancouver for example) have NO FPS drop when I switch the lights on of a Carenado aircraft that are P3D4 compatible? And if it is only on my system, then I would like to know what is the influence of the QOTSII on my rig because on FSX everything is smooth and NO FPS drop? And lastly - is there a correlation between ORBX night lights and the B744 because in daytime everything is smooth but when the night comes ... ♪♫ ... tralalaa! Must say, I know …

Installed: PMDG Boeing 747 Queen of the Skies II (V3.00.8132) Got a message for an update and downloaded V3.00.8415 Question: Do I have to de-install V3.00.8132 before installing V3.00.8415. Or......can I install the new version OVER the older one? Thank you

Yesterday evening I conducted several tests in my mind to find the reason why A / P suddenly ceased to work. I could find that AS16 causes the problem. If I restart AS16, my A / P will normally work again. I have average three disturbances during route LPPT-ESSA, rout ESSA-UUEE or route VVNB-ZGHA when the A/P malfunctioning. What can I do for AS16 to work with my 747? My AS16=Easy mode.

FSX version of QotS II looks like it isn't loading some of the textures or something. This is with the latest version installed. Once loading the flight it looks fine. Molly Norris

Hey Everyone, Long time PMDG fan, just got the P3Dv4 747v3 and need some help: 1. Using the Iberia livery from Avsim...when I config the AC (equipment/displays etc.) and I quit P3D, nothing saves when I get back into the airplane later on. It reverts back to the original setup. How can I get it to save the AC State? 2. I set up the panel how I like it for Cold & Dark - in the FMC i click save panel state, give it a name, put the name in LS1 and click Execute. The display reads that the panel state is saved, but how do I access it again? When i click to load panel states, it only gives me the 4 standard PMDG states, and not the name of the panel "created…
