Hi, I have been trying to figure out an issue I am having with fuel. When I load the aircraft it is always fully loaded with fuel. When I do my flight planning I may only need 90K - 100K lbs of fuel (2 - 3 hr flight). When I start the short or long turnaround everything happens as required EXCEPT that nothing happens with the fuel. So, how to I either get the ground operations to remove the fuel OR start the aircraft with 5-10% fuel? Cheers Hazza

Hi, I noticed that if I press the A/P disconnect button on the yoke I always have the EICAS message "autopilot disconnect", along with the wailer sound, even when the airplane is stationary on the ground with FD off. Is it a normal behaviour? I have the latest update in P3D v4.Thanks.

Can I just report a little inaccuracy in the sequencing of Upper EICAS Memo Messages. The white memo messages for Parking Brake, Speedbrake Armed etc should fill the list from the bottom up. I.e a new message should appear at the bottom of the list and push the others up. Currently new messages start at the top. The FCOM 2 manual reference is page 15.20.3 / page 1549 in the manual supplied by PMDG. Also confirmed by watching film of the the live flightdeck. It's small I know, but very noticeable, once you spot it. Any chance of a micro update? Thanks. Adam Turley

Today I encountered the following strange behaviour (tried two times,both same bahaviour, one time with AS4, second time without AS4): approach to LEMG to ILS Z 12 via PIMOS1DCQ arrival - inbound D011S everything normal, LNAV, VNAV PTH and HOLD - as soon as reaching D011S (why does she not turn before reaching -is it a must overfly wpt?) suddenly AT announces THR and the vertical path jumps to almost 2000 ft above.. - ca.20 seconds later again HOLD is announced (but I have to pull back the throttles of course) and vertical path is 450 ft above - then for ca. 2 minutes AT stays in HOLD letting rise t…

I'm in the market for a 747. I have been using Aerowinx's PS1.3a simulator for something like 15 years now, maybe more. Until its successor PSX came out it was undoubtedly the highest fidelity 747 simulator available and PMDG was actually founded in order to create the manual for that sim. Now with the new PMDG 747 and PSX on the market, I'm a bit stumped at which one is for me. The biggest benefit of Aerowinx's sim was the extremely accurate FMC/CDU system with, as far as I know, every single page modeled even going as far as engineering / tech pages and lots of ACARS functionality. I just recently purchased the PMDG 747 and am super impressed and enjoy the product but, yesterday I tried a flight and when I stepped through my route I noticed the path wasn't alligned with the runway! The plane would be off and wouldn't go directly to the runway. is there a way to fix this? I had a similar issue in the Aerosoft Airbus in p3d v3 a few months back but now its showing up again :/

Hi! I have notice that if I use the FMC CDU key command or my joystick button, the left TO/GA button on the throttle activated. When I click on the clickspot in VC the right TO/GA button on the throttle activated. Does it matter to the TO/GA funktion?

I am not sure who shuts prepar3d V4 but I assume it's PMDG 747 . I just bought it and after loading the plane in prepar3d V4 at dark state after starting everything and start to taxi once I took off and move my camera view in the cockpit ( chaseplane) the sim vanish ? I never had that with V3.4 but I also never had the 747 I always have the 777 . So I loaded my sim with the Cessna 172 and done 45 minutes of flying moving the chaseplane around in and out no crash sim is running till I landed . Any idea what is going on ? I done till the last update of PMDG 747 . Also did the PMDG 777 received any upgrades for V4 ? Thanks Amr

Hi! I need accurate flight charts for my 747 FMC. I find Jeppesen chart in the www but thy are to old. I have Navigraph and are therefore update in the airac system. The SID and STAR in old charts do not match new airac as 1708, for exemplar. My question is where I can find accurate charts for my hobby. It does not matter if it costs money.

Hi, Just purchased the 747 QOTSII. Problems as follows: 1. No PMDG 747 in the start menu. 2. No PMDG 747 in the Operations Center, no 747 modules in the PMDG folder. 3. Can see stock liveries in FSX SE 4. Cannot download liveries since no option in OC. Thanks, Kunal Vyas

Hello everyone, I own version one of the beautiful B744 and never had problems with it. Before I buy version 2 which looks very nice I would kindly like to know two things: 1. what is the maximum simulation rate you can have with this model, useful for long flights, 16X ?? Or maximum 8X?? 2. I also own the iFly 747V2 and this bird gives you error memory problems if your settings are not properly set, does the PMDG B747V3 give the same problem or not? I wanted to start a discussion (if there is one) on the landing dynamics of the 744. I feel like there may be an issue with the way the lateral axis behaves on landing. Once the mains are down and the boards come open, it should be necessary to counteract the reduction in lift by adding back pressure on the control column. In the sim, the nose just sort of wants to hang in the air on touchdown, no amount of back pressure is needed to keep the nose from slamming to the ground. Hi, I recently attempted to complete a flight from Sydney to Tokyo. I had 99223 kgs of fuel in total. This fuel was loaded into FMC and ended up with fuel in wing tanks only which is fine. Was an overnight flight so I woke up in morning to prepare for descent and noticed engines 1 and 4 had shutdown due to lack of fuel. I had all main pumps on including OVRD switches and XFEED valves 2 and 3 on and 1 and 4 off. Can anyone help me understand why I would have run out of fuel? The fuel figure was taken from Simbrief and is always spot on. THanks. Lucas Gozzard.

Perhaps jumping the gun a little here but following a wipe of P3D v3.4 and an install of v4, the QOTS2 package fails at initial installation with "Installation cannot continue. Your registry does not show a valid Prepar3d(tm) v3.x installation location". Admitedlly my installer is a little old (release date of QOTS2).. Is ther an updated version available?

When doing a ground turn in the same sim session (ie. without closing/restarting P3D or rebooting windows), will this cause any problems in the next leg of the flight? I assume for a standard 90 minute freight turn, you'd run the Secure checklist, IRS off, APU off, and establish ground power. When the pilots come back from lunch (or the bar :) can they then proceed to start things up as if the flight scenario was freshly loaded? Do you have to clear out the old route and PERF data from the FMC? I'm cruising at the moment but given that P3D has been so much more stable I may try the turn without the usual ritual of rebooting windows. Thanks!

Window 7/64 Downloaded from product page. P3D V4 I uninstalled the 747 with Program and Feature in the control panel. Rebooted. Installed the new 747, shoed it was for V4 and added some liveries only into V4, not 3.4. Nowhere did it ask for an activation code. Ran V4 and loaded a 747, engines running, black screens, external view, no landing gear. Please advise.

Hi folks, I'm getting odd behavior (at least I think it's odd) when planning a flight in the 747-400 from CYVR to RCTP. It's happening in PFPX (using the default 747 profiles as well as the FlyPrecisely profiles) and SimBrief, which is what's making me curious...I don't think it can be attributed to a bug in a particular flight planning tool. In any case, when I plan my flight out of Vancouver, both flight planning tools give me an initial altitude of 16,000 feet. Then after a very short while, they plan a climb up to what I'd expect the initial cruise to be, to FL300 or FL320. I can use FL300 as my initial altitude when setting up the FMC and the 747 climbs to …
