PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

Finally got p3dv4 up and running. Was doing some flights with the 744 and noticed on both occasions that when pressing the FMC lsk on the initial FMC page, it takes me to the perf init page instead of the ident page. Is anyone seeing this?

Hi everyone, First of all, the combination of PMDG's 747 and P3D V4 is what we have all been waiting for. At least on my system (Windows 10, GTX 970, i7, SSD drives, etc.) is just about silky smooth. Great job PMDG! With any complicated simulator, there's going to be bugs or operator error. In my case I did two flights yesterday and twice I got the dreaded STAB TRIM UNSCHD EICAS message. When I disconnected the autopilot the trim was indeed not in the desired position since it ran away nose up. Never saw this in the FSX version, but seeing this in the P3D V4 version. Any ideas? Bug or a problem on my end? Thanks, George

On facebook the other day someone posted the picture of the TPS report within the 747 cockpit. On that post Mr. Randazzo stated that he was surprised that more weren't found. This got me curious. On my latest flight I started to look around and I found another one! His name is my name too! Edit: Probably should have said where to look! Look at the name on the Standard Airworthiness Certificate! So what other ones have people found?

Hi guys Using the 744 in P3D4. Working flawlessly for me, but in the top left corner of my screen I see a tiny white box. I hover over it, and I get the option to drag/expand the window. Out of curiosity I drag it larger and it's the 2D autopilot panel. But I can't then close it, only drag it back to a smaller size. It's there from the moment I load the aircraft and it's the same with every version of the aircraft. The panel isn't functional and all the windows in it (airspeed ,altitude etc) are blank. I can bring up the normal 2D autopilot panel using the shift plus (sorry I forget the number!) command, and it seems to be completely independent of that. It's no…

Guys, Anyone have issues with the reflection of the beacon lights off the engine housing during daytime? I can see only grayish splash instead of red reflection. On 777 it works ok. It's P3D v4, and dynamic lightning is on. Thnx

Quick question on the Cathay Pacific paint for PMDG B744/F in P3Dv4. I am more than happy to submit a support ticket at PMDG, but am posting here to see if this is something simple I may have done, or maybe the paint texture has an issue. The B744/F works fine for me in P3Dv4 and I've used it flawlessly for many flights now. Just downloaded the Cathay Pacific livery today and noticed this while on it's first flight from KATL to PANC. Thoughts on whether a support ticket is needed?

I just ran the Control panel and let it run an update. When I brought up the plane in V4 I saw a new feature on the CDU, about EFIS. When I click on CTRL PNL OFF I get this EICAS message. What is this? I'm a little confused why I'd get an EICAS message. I didn't see any difference in the cockpit's switch configuration. Screen shots.

I think I'm getting comfortable enough in the 747 to add some spice to my flights, i.e. the random simulated failures. Apologies if this was answered in the intro manual, and if it is, I'll head back there, but this is my go-to place for asking "obscure" questions. Feel free to point me to the docs, if these questions are answered there. In the FMC, I've enabled random failures for "All Systems" that should be happening at a rate of 2x per 10 hours, limited to a single failure. I also have service based failures enabled. Found this out while on push back just now. As I was starting number 3 and 4, it was at about 8 N1, and I accidentally moved my throttles up, and the engine spool up sounds happened, while on the gauges, it showed they never responded to my input. Also, I found out they also were making me move, even though the gauge in the cockpit showed the engines were still at 12 N1. So pretty interesting glitch. Running P3D v4.

Hi guys, A really curious issue I've run into a few days ago and persistent until now; when I use the pushback function in the 747v3's FMC and select a direction + angle, it just pushes me straight back forever until I stop it. It recognizes that I've entered a direction/angle because if I use 0 degrees the comms correctly says "straight back", and "tail to left/right" accordingly if otherwise. I don't have GSX, AES or any other kind of pushback-related utility. I always reload a saved flight from my last shutdown but this issue persists even if I create a new flight from the Scenario screen. Does anyone know what could be possibly causing this and how to resolve it?…

Dear PMDG developers, Is it possible for you to change the operation of the BARO and MINS knobs so they function as in the T7.(with the mouse wheel). The way it is implemented now is not as user friendly as in the T7 and it is not possible to make any working C++ code to interface a hardware rotary knob. Having different way of operating the knobs is also confusing.

Hi guys, Sorry for double posting this, I hooked on to a previous topic that talked about the rotary and slow/fast controls of the baro minimums and altimeter knobs, but I think my question will remain a bit snowed under since it was a topic from back in February. So here goes again: P3Dv4, latest updates to the 747 have been applied. I wanted to set the controls of the altimiter and the minimums selector to rotary yesterday, because the slow/fast control just takes too much fiddling for my taste. Why do I seem to have to load a default aircraft before loading the 747? If I don't, the screens in the VC are all black. If I load the default aircraft first, everything works fine, but I have never had to load a default aircraft before loading a PMDG aircraft. Thank you, Bob

Hi, I read just after release of first update of 747 to p3DV4 that RAAS will be temporarily disabled due to non-compatibility with p2DV4. As RAAS update is releasd now, how I can make it working again ? Do I need to do somehong specific or download RAAS updates ? many thanks ! JM

When I select the 747-800 extension I get a sales page but no way to buy. When I go to the Products page there is no 747-800 extension to buy. Has this change been made in the OC prior to release of the extension?

Are there any plans for PMDG to incorporate the RF (or AF leg type for that matter) into their navdata? With the proliferation of RNP approaches requiring use of the RF leg it would be great to see this used instead of tracking from fix to fix.

Hi Guys, Since the last update of QOTSII, I've been having some issues with the PW version...When I derate the engines to -8%, and then I move the throttle to 50% and then press TOGA button, suddenly the engines become crazy because they begin to bring more power and less power at the same time in THR REF until HOLD message appears in the PFD and finally they become stable. Chaps I couldn't find this mentioned in another thread in the forum but I'm just in my way to Orlando from Gatwick in the QOTS II and noticed that there are a few added bits and bobs to the ACARS segment of the FMS since the last update - can I ask Kyle and the chaps more about this? PMDG rarely do things for show, but I can't quite see any functionality at the moment - there are some really exciting greyed out headings like WT/BAL, ATC REQUEST and other tantalising items. Is this the start of some amazing PMDG ACARS functionality? Cheers folks

Does anyone know or happen to have a profile for the freighter version of PMDG's 747? I thought it would be included with PFPX/TOPCAT but it's just the regular 747-400 only.

Hi, I was on a flight from OPKC (Karachi) to OMDB (Dubai) and at flying the STAR (BUBI1B) to runway 30R, I checked the NAV/RAD ILS frequency. I found that the wrong frequency was entered and tried to change it manually. Th MCDU would not allow me to change the frequency and I had to fly the approach manually. I can't remember the exact wording of the message, but manual entry was NOT possible. BTW I was NOT on final yet and the approach was NOT armed. Also runway 30R was selected in the Arrival?approach page. How can I change the ILS frequency manually once it is shown in the FMC/NAV RAD page. Thanks for help

I tried to setup a shared cockpit session with a friend, but on the setup page for multiplayer, the shared cockpit option is greyed out and when I start the session, my aircraft is on the runway, but my friends aircraft comes in for landing flying above me, so we both have our own aircraft. How do I setup a shared cockpit, so we both will enter the session in the same aircraft?

Hi everybody, I am pretty new to flying the big ones and have just started with the 747. I have followed the tutorial and it went relatively well. Unfortunately I have a problem, when it comes close to landing in San Francisco. Page 81 tells me, that the localizer mode should activate and capture just before Dumba and that I shall press APP. But how do I see, that the localiser mode has activated. This is my first question. Second one: At that time my PFD should read SPD LOC G/S. Mine reads SPD LOC Vnav Pth in green and a white G/S below the Vnav Pth. I have tried it three times and the same happened each time. Can you help me please. Thanks …

Good day captains, i'm experiencing heavy skeleton issues with the 747, especially when i remain on the ground for a while (ground ops stuff etc..). When doing a "fast" startup and takeoff the skeleton its less problematic. After the skeleton i have quite good fps in outside view (80-120)
