PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

I know, I know, it's probably on everyone's mind right now. I have the 747 for P3D 3.4 so I'm just curious as you said you'd be supporting the new version. Any kind of timeline when it will be able to be installed into the new version? I'm not being pushy, just curious. Thanks. Jack

Does anybody run the QOSII together with FSPassengers successfully? I always get the message that the minidisplay cannot be shown because all 256 FSX windows are used by the QOSII. Even deleting windows from the panel.cfg didn't show any relief so far. Thanks for your help, draci

Hi all, After making the switch to the steam edition i thought everything was fine, Until i did a flight. It seems i'm having an issue with VNAV and the speed, When i enable VNAV after following a correct departure the speed suddenly goes crazy, It said that i'm overspeed at mach .50 and VNAV tries to reduce the speed to 126 KTS? I have no idea what's going on, I never had this issue with the boxed version. Its impossible to recover the aircraft after this, if i disable VNAV and just try to set the autopilot myself it still shows i'm overspeed at FL340 and MACH .50, Surely something is wrong? I've tried a reinstall but can't seem to fix it.

Before departure I set the field VOR and a radial in the navrad section of the fmc. I noticed a large fps drop, and after departure I had blurries around the ground scenery and bad fps. At my cruise it did not get better until some seconds after I deleted the VOR from the navrad section. The same performance hit after setting fixes such as a range ring around an airport. Is this a coincidence or has someone seen this also? Thanks - David Lee

Sorry if this has been asked before. I am I correct in thinking that as I purchased the New 747 from the PMDG site I can also obtain a set up for the 747-8i? If so how do I go about doing this. I've spent a lot of time trying to finds a download link. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks

Hi, Does anyone know how to get rid of a RUDDER RATIO issue on the STS display? The issue came up after the engines shut down inflight after grabbing my joystick. That happens on multiple PMDG aircraft by the way, when I grab my joystick the engines shut off and spool up again a few seconds later. I've already tried to clear all emergencies but there are none active. Thanks for any replies! Best regards, Mark Jansen

I bought the fsx edition of the 747-400 v3 Queen of the Skies March 2, 2017, and its been running perfectly, and of course I activated as well.at that time, 89.99. The PMDG Operation center says I have the latest edition Now, all of a sudden when I choose a plane from the 747-400 v3 queen of the skies I get the following error message saying that that I need to enter the activation code, which of course I did when I purchased the product. anyway I put my activation code in the box again and it rejected it. Please help me what is going on here ? also it says on the bottom right of my computer you do not have a valid license for this…

Hi, I have noticed that RAAS can cause sudden drop of VAS in certain conditions. I have observed that on approach (very close to airport) VAS suddenly dips by about 200MB, then after few seconds it recovers. Any one else seen this? Tom

Is there an option in the FMC settings to set the speed the IRS sets itself up? in the previous version this could be done in the 'options' menu thank you Donald Leaton

Hi, The sounds are great as they are. I did a quick search - should I be getting surround sound for the QOTS II ? Is there an option? Or did I see a reference that it was coming at some point. Really enjoying the 744 - some great work and well worth the wait. Congrats to the Beta team for some very thorough testing - the RTM is a great example of some quality work that has been given some comprehensive testing. Thanks Scott

I'm certain to get a proper public flogging for this post, but bear with me. I just got off a 16 hour flight and decided I needed a martini and some QOTS time to chill. I've been gone three weeks and my DLH 744 is suddenly transparent in external view like on the aircraft selector. The only change is that the computer has been off for about 3 weeks. Any idea what might have caused this? Scott And NO, the Martini came after I noticed the issue :-)

Hi all, So i decided to take some advice and buy FSX Steam edition. I uninstalled my boxed FSX version and installed the Steam. I then began installing the PMDG 747 and just two payware airports for a first test flight. I cannot use this beauty with FSX:SE. When i load a flight and the aircraft initialising countdown begins, as soon as it hits 12 seconds FSX:SE goes into not responding mode and crashes to desktop. I have no idea what to do, I have tried tips given from steam but it just won't work. Does anyone have any idea why this won't load and let me fly the 747 with FSX:SE? I'd rather like to avoid going back to the boxed version.. Thank you

All has been well with the QoTS until recently when landing I noticed the although autobrakes were set to 3 nothing was happening. No brakes sign in the window, no reduction in speed, nothing. Now despite trying to remove and try a clean install with full upgrading by the operation centre each time to the current version, nothing changes. Auto brakes work fine on the B777 and the B737 ? Has anyone got any ideas what might be happening here ? Many thanks for any assistance, this is driving me nuts ! Oh I fly using P3D by the way.

It's been a couple of weeks since I last used the QTOS2. Since then I've done a Windows 10 update which messed some stuff up, and used the PTA tool to upgrade my P3D visuals. I'm not sure if I've flown the 747 since updating it via the operations center. When I try to open the 747 it gives me the activation window. I put in the key, hit activate and it does it's thing, but after seeing "polling response" the activation window presents itself again (and again, and again, ...). Firewall and Anti-virus are completely switched off. I already tried to reinstall simconnect but it doesn't make a difference. Any ideas?

Hello all: Found this link to a detailed explanation of the design and management of the fuel system. It is a well worth 30 minutes. With an example of pump and valve settings and even "tests" of understanding. Hope you find it as instuctive as I did. Roberto

Hello, With reference to the previous thread named "747-v3 Fuel consumption problem" , I would like to work on the fuel consumption. I fly only with the 747-400ERF. I have good estimations of TRIP FUEL on short and medium haul but not on long hauls so far. Therefore I'd like your input. Hey Guys, Love the plane. I think it may be my special effects settings but I've noticed the engines shaking but it's not smooth. Kind of jumpy. Do you know what I mean? Anybody else experiencing that? I may have missed the page in the manual about optimal P3D settings. Craig

So I was trying to change the cargo containers, which I believed the file in question to do that was pmdg_747FX_cabin.bmp. After many attempts to do so, it appears nothing has changed, no matter what I tried, so I had an idea. After running an experiment, which involved relocating the texture.cfg and the texture file in question to another location, this was the result. It appears the texture is modeled in and can't be changed for some reason. Is there any particular reason why this was done this way?

I'm trying to figure out if I have a hardware issue or if this is a procedural error on my part. I'm using P3Dv4 and when initially loading the aircraft my 1 & 2 reversers deploy. I reset these once everything is loaded up, no big issue. Later on during the startup of engines 1 & 2 my reversers for 1 & 2 deploy, which also causes the speedbrake to extend. I can't seen to figure out what I am doing wrong. This does not happen when I start 3 & 4. Also, when I shutdown the same thing happens; 1 & 2 reversers pop-up along with the speedbrake. . Hey guys, Inspired by a fellow simmer (and former Lufthansa 747 pilot) who requested it, I've been working on the Lufthansa fleet. When I'm finished I'll share them with our community. I'll most likely make 2 packages to keep the file size down and split the fleet in half.
