PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

    I just loaded a blue United PW 747 at D4 in KSFO and I noticed that it takes quite a lot more thrust to get to 30% N1, under standard conditions, for each engine when compared to GE and RR. Is this supposed to be how it actually operates? Because the Northwest jet needs the same amount of thrust as United to get moving -Angelo Busato

  3. Hi. I got 777 and 737 from PMDG and I am amazed. Both are awesome aircrafts. I do use TOPCAT to calculate derates. I know there is also program called TOPER to get data for 777-300. But how to get them for 747? Is there any software that will do the trick? Otherwise - how do you know how much to derate the engines on takeoff?

  4. Hi all, Can anyone explain this? See GIF The gear isnt making proper contact with the ground? Its causing the plane to shake and twitch around.... Tried searching but didnt see anyone else with the issue? Here for another example I am using P3D V3 and the most up to date version of the 744... It doesnt happen with the 777 or NGX, not sure why its only happening the 747. It also appears that the gear are in the ground on the 747, unlike the other two mentioned.     Hello I have the QOTS II in P3D v3.4. Every flight I made so far I get an error in upper ECAM "Fuel Imbalance". The fuel quantity in all the respective tanks are equal. I cannot clear the error. Where is it originating from? Also I did a flight from SCL to SYD. Later upon using time compression of 4x I got engine 2 and 3 failures almost instantly. Engines shut down, Hydraulics etc.. Failures are checked off in FMC . I was able to start the engines and resume the flight afterwards. Bill

    I'm relatively new to PMDG and FSX and have an interesting problem that occurs on take-off. I have RAAS on and I have activated the MakeRwys program. Fuel load is light and payload is about 1/3. My dominant scenery for Australia is OBEX and I have the latest Navigraph database. I begin my take-off run on RWY 16R (3962m) at YSSY (Sydney, Australia) with A/T, RNAV and VNAV armed. I engage TOGA at about 50% N1, then the FO calls 80kts, then the RAAS calls "Short RWY, Short RWY" and the throttles are retarded to idle. I can prevent all this by turning OFF RAAS and by setting "A/T manual Override" from "in HOLD Mode only" to "Never" but that is just a work around; …

    I've gone through the preflight and FMC setup, except DEP/ARR page. Vspeeds haven't been selected yet, as I wanted to first tune ATC to get IFR clearane and taxi to active runway. Before switching to CnD I could tune and make contact. I have been unable to request IFR clearance through the FSX main interface. Why is this? At what point should I be able to tune ATC? What am I missing? PS: I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS PIECE OF WORK! THE LOOK, THE SOUND, IS EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. BEST YET BY PMDG.

Hi there, I have some points with the PMDG 747-400 V3 when I fly it, I am not using any Joystick at all and I am using P3D v3.4.22 1- I saw some add about the auto brake on landing is not working at all not like the 777 or 737?     I got myself the QOTS ii and I am impressed. I don't like the tutorial setup. I would have preferred: 1. Parked at gate in CnD condition. Then, proceed to starting up the systems first by applying electricity. After electric startup, make it clear right there and then that NAV lights should be turned on to alert ground crew. Based on what is contained in the setup procedure before flight, is this really how the real world operate their b747-400? Some of the steps just don't seem right to me.   13. I downloaded the new PMDG 747-400 V3 (Order # [order # removed]) and installed it. Everything went smooth. To test it I started with the plane lined up on a runway, flap down, full power and take off, it lifted all right, I cleaned up and turned for a go around. Halfway in the turn I had a CRASH ON DESKTOP. I started again and this time from a gate. It would not take my usual pushback button so I fiddled with the FMC, but to no avail.     hi been using it perfectly for so long now but all of a sudden i am unable to actually load in the pmdg 747. I have had no other issues before and last 2 days it has been stuck on 2%. All my other aircraft and textures load in fine so my issue is solely pmdg 747 and 777? any ideas or should i raise a support ticket

    Hey guys! First of all thanks for the great work you've done and do! I spent the last days testing out your latest product and stumbled upon a little think, which unfortunately disturbs me...it does not need to, but it does :/ During my last pushback i looked back and saw the red light of the wingtip shimmering on the ground and i tried to look at the wing. Long story short: there's no wing you can see out of the VC (i'm used to it because of the NGX ;)) Did I miss out something or is this little detail still in work?

    Hi, I have small issue with landing lights/taxi lights that tend to dissapear. What happens: When loading flight, any with default flight and then switching to Queen, I light up the lights. Thay stay on for few moments and then... dissapear. They are still on, splash is on the fuselage but do not appear on the ground at all. Yes, I was playing with PTA. Yes, I have brought back things to how they used to be, yet still problem remained. I am not sure that PTA is an issue, because they do the same there too. I have checked 737 and there things are perfect. Can you tell me what you think? Should I uninstall and install again? Tom Link

    I think maybe my days have just been too short. All along I have been looking for information explicitly reciting b748i being the expansion of B747v3. Robert Randazzo made mention of this in some statement a while back. I have no choice. I might as well consider purchasing and start familiarising myself with the new up to date features if I ever hope to quickly grasp the 'newly' dynamics of the b748i when it arrives. I have also been told (though not with strong enough evidence) that the b748i should reflect the real world features of the VC, functionality, etc. I am hoping this will be so. 1.     These have been submitted to PMDG for correction, but just putting them out here for any that are interested, the last 2 have been mentioned in a previous post. 1. On the ROUTE page, you can only enter a Route Offset by putting in the direction and then the mileage. So, if you want to offset 5 miles left of course, you have to put in L5 on the route offset line, 5L will give you an INVALID ENTRY message. in the PMDG simulation, you can and are allowed to put it in either way. The 400 is different than the 737, which will allow both entries either way. Also, in the 737 you can put in a decimal as well, like R10.5, in the 400 it has to be a whole number only, no decima…

    Hi. I purchased the new 747 a few days ago and I'm really pleased by its aesthetics. However, I can't even complete a full flight as my flight simulator freezes after takeoff. What happens is I call normal after-takeoff procedures and when I select flaps 5/10 and switch off the outboard lights my flight simulator freezes there and then. Without clicking anything else for 10 seconds, FSX crashes to the desktop. I don't have this problem with the 737,old 747 or 777 and I'm getting similar fps as with the 777. Any help would be appreciated greatly! Thanks in advance.

  21. What I liked on the PMDG MD-11 was that the elevators, despite using keyboard, would return to neutral after pulling up or pushing down rather than staying in the position you left off. Does the 747v3 have this feature as well? It'll be easier for me to engage the autopilot on take off! -Angelo

    Hi PMDG, just a quick question regarding a repaint. The Air New Zealand liveries that came with the release are the RB211-G3 powered 400's. It was only the first three 400's that were RR powered. The other five were CF6-80C2 powered. What would I have to do to create a GE powered version. You help would be very much appreciated. Regards Phil Duck
