PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

Hi chaps I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to open a support ticket but jsut wanted to know if anyone else getting this - v4 is working perfectly fine but if I select the 747, either in the open screen or when the default aircraft is loaded up, the screen just goes black and nothing loads. This is the first time I've loaded the 747 into v4, having got it today, v3 is working as normal. Anyone else getting this, or is it ticket time? Cheers

Good afternoon all, My removal and reinstall of the 747 went flawlessly yesterday however my repaints did not carry thought. I was not sure if this was expected behavior or not. All of the liveries for v3 persisted but none carried though for v4. So my question is - do we have to reinstall liveries for v4?

Hello all, The instructions to install the 747 in P3D V4 were very short and clear, however there is no mention of the original installation instructions that were provided in the manuals with the previous version. What happened to for instance the UIautomationcore.dll? is that still needed? what about the other settings? thanks for your help! Yori Smulders

Hi there, I have two soundcards. Soundcard A is used for P3D / PMDG etc. Soundcard B is used for Vatsim. Is there a way to send COM2 to Soundcard A or even a 3rd speaker so I don't have to keep headphones on whilst flying online? I appreciate this may not sit directly with PMDG and may be better placed with the various Vatsim client software, but interested to hear what everyone else does during long cruises? Thanks! Hi, Just a tip for anyone struggling with the new Prepar3dv4 compatible 747 QOTS II installer seeming to just shutdown with no error and then the installation exe disappearing, for me it was actually Avast, and disabling all shields for 10 minutes let the installer complete successfully. I realise the fleet Captain probably said very clearly to disable anti-virus when installing, but it didn't stop me not following instructions, so maybe this will help someone equally nonobservant :D

Hi, It may be a mistake I am making and perhaps a misunderstanding but I have a query regarding the fuel system. I am currently taxiing out to a runway at EHAM in PH-BFA and I have 93.4Kgs (x1000) on board. Currently, I'm flying in the PMDG 747 and on the ground at EHAM, when configuring the aircraft, I noticed a very annoying input lag. For instance, when I move the hat switch on my Saitek yoke, it is very slow and somewhat choppy, I had this issue in P3D v3.4 with the hat switch but in v4 it's even worse. Also, when moving the yoke it seems to move very slowly in all of the aircraft. Then, when flipping a switch or something like that, I click it and it takes about a second for it to move. I can tell it's input lag and not low framerate lag because the world around me is moving very smoothly, and when I use the space bar to look around, it is still choppy, but moves much f…

I'm in the process of making the shift from FSX:SE to P3D v4, and bought the QOTS II a few weeks ago. Is there any plan to offer an upgrade along those lines?

Hi ive noticed a small texture glitch on the cowling on each of the engines, instead of it flashing in red its flashing in light gray or black as seen in the picture below, i hope the Dev team can fix this minor issue :)

Hi all, I'm having an issue with my QOTSII. When I input information for a flight to LLBG (Ben Gurion) I receive an error saying runway 3 has no SIDs or STARs. And when I go to plan an arrival in the FMS it says there are no RWYS, SIDS, or STARS for the entire airport. I installed for P3DV4 last night and although it took a long time, it was successful. This morning I decided to install for P3DV3 but that was no longer an option. The installer gave me the normal "repair" or "remove" options. My V3 and V4 installations on on separate disks. How do I install for P3DV3? Thanks.

The RANGE knob on the EFIS control panel differs from the number on the display. When I select 20 miles, the display shows 10 miles etc. What could be the reason for that? hansmathys

This issue is for the PMDG B747v3 running in P3Dv4. Could someone from PMDG (or someone else) verify that setting [SDK] EnableDataBroadcast=1 to the 747QOTSII_Options.ini file really enable the aircraft data sending from the 747QOTSII. For me it is not working. Is it a bug or is it my app that is not working anymore?

I am serious. When people in the P3D v3 (and before) days were talking about FPS is a far second to "smoothness" I couldn't believe it, because I didn't really see it. Now with P3D v4 and the 747 with v4, I placed myself at FlyTampa CYYZ scenery at night, turned on all the lights (Dynamic lights are on) with ASP4, Orbx Global and OpenLC NA, 4096x4096 textures. I couldn't believe my FPS were just counting 25ish. 25 FPS in P3D v4 is better than 40-50 FPS in P3D v3. PMDG wasn't kidding when they praised the smoothness of this thing. So now I am in the same boat and will also tell you "Stop monitoring your FPS"

Hi, I have a navigraph subscription and want to update the airac of the Queen. Seeing as the navigraph download manager still cant automatically scan the p3dv4 installation of the 747, can I just make a manual link to the v4 version of the 747? The main question would be is the P3DV3 version of the navigraph airac for PMDG products compatible with the 64bit/p3dv4 version of the 747? Thanks, Keem

I wonder if we'll see PMDG using this new approach to keeping 3rd party files out of the main sim? I've had trouble so far this weekend (not with PMDG, but with scenery) because the new UTF-16 encoding in many of the config files is somewhat "brittle" with respect to older installers. I do like the idea of having a clean main sim install. In my early working with the 744, it seems that PMDG is back into the main P3D install directory.

Hey Guys, I running out of options here I Run Prepar 3dV4 under WIN 10 just Install the Sim fresh and than the PMDG but I have the still the same Issue no gauges or Displays at all. I tryed everything what you guys said here. No FSUIPC install Has anyone a another solution ? Best regards Nils

Anyone else find that the new dynamic lighting on the Queen in V4 is a huge hit to FPS? For me it cuts my FPS in half. I'm on a i7-4770k and a GTX 970; I'm curious to know what other people are seeing. Definitely keeping it off for now. Alex Pugh

Good morning, I am installing the Queen into V4 and loving it. I am getting the Navdata out of date message, despite updating using Navigraph tool into the P3D v4 PMDG Navdata Folder. Am I doing something wrong. Kind regards, Brian Crawley

Hello All, I have just done an installation of the latest 747 for PMDG V4 , after running the sim with the 747 i noticed that the activation screen did not open and also all my gauges are black and the functionality of the plane isn't working, i have tried to uninstall and reinstall and did a full restart without any luck, and just to let you know that i no longer have the version V3 of the p3d, it would be much appreciate if someone could help me Thanks
