PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

Hello, I recently (24 Jun 2017) installed the latest 747 QOTSII update and now have a problem where the Master Caution light(s) pilot and co-pilot will not reset. EICAS shows (based on my setup) three new systems annunciated not seen before ('Flight Envelope', and Radio Alt L/R) as well. I had no issues with any of my installed 747 variants until after the latest update and now ALL of my variants of the aircraft now have this problem. Has this been mentioned by any other PMDG 747 users to date? Hello, I'm using P3D v4 and I was practicing SLOP. I offset the course 2nm to the right, followed it in LNAV and was ready to go back on course. Now when I drop a DELETE on the offset R02 RSK 6, It says Invalid Delete. I have no idea if this is a bug, or if I'm doing something wrong. Thanks

I was just wondering if the British Airways World Cargo Livery would be in the Livery list for the 747-8? I know the official list isn't out yet, I would just like to get it on the radar if it hasn't been considered yet. I personally think it would be a great Livery to include for people (like me) who almost exclusively fly for British Airways in the sim.

Hi all, When I turn the dome light on at night, only the cargo fire and air conditioning areas of the overhead panel are affected by the dome light. I have the lastest 744 update, Version 3.00.8370 in P3D V4 Hotfix 1. Is anyone else seeing this too? Cheers,

I found something strange which I really would love to understand: At nighttime I get an FPS drop of about 5 frames when turning on landing lights, taxi lights and runway turnoff lights EVEN WITH DYNAMIC LIGHTING DISABLED IN THE SIM ! (with dynamic lighting enabled I get slide show speed). With just one of those lights switched on the effect almost isnt noticeable, so it seems to be the sum ..(as it is with DL on) As there is nothing to display, what could cause this FPS drop ???? Anybody else sees that? Any explanation for it ?

Hi guys, Have read a few things about people regarding the engine exhaust effect (heat effect) on the 744. What I am not sure about is if it is modelled on this 744 or not, or is it a matter of me not having the right settings like "special effects" turned up enough? Cheers,

Just noticed this today; after a long pause overnight at TOD, I came to finish my flight this morning and I've lost all the minor sounds; switch clicks, seatbelts, stuff like that. Not a game destroyer, but figured you'd wanna know.

Anybody using avsim repaints in P3D4 ? It won't let me install them. Do they work if you copy them from v3 or fsx ? greg

There's something weird happening, whenever lowering the flaps or retracting them , on the displays sometimes the flaps shows as two columns [each flap for each wing, not 1 column as usual] and sometimes 1 column for both wings. This occurs whenever we arm the ALTN Flaps. and whenever the ALTN Flaps are armed, a warning sound occurs and on the display two warnings show up: 1- Flaps Control 2- Flaps Primary any idea how to overcome/bypass this problem in order to be able to see the flaps position on each wing? and what is the ALTN flaps used for ? thank you

Good Day All, I have been flying a few circuits in order to better acquaint myself with the "Queen". Upon touch down, I advance my throttle to 50%, press TOGA and advance the throttle to 100%. However nothing seems to happen, the blue marks on the N1-Column clearly show the throttle position as advancing yet the Autothrottle remains in idle, I try moving the throttle around yet the Autothrottle keeps on bringing the thrust levers back to Idle. Am I simply following the wrong procedure or have I incorrectly set the aircraft up? (My A/T Manual Override settings are Hold mode only) Thanks for the assistance.

I just learned how to save a flight plan from PFPX to a folder. But not sure if I saved it to the correct one. I can post screenshots. But try as I might I cannot find out how to import it into the CDU. On the route page I see send but no import button as I've seen in somme YT's. Can anyone enlighten me on how to import a flight plan into the CDU, what sequence of LSK's to use for this? I have done the tutorial several times now and am slowly learning but now I'd like to try to import. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I was on final in Miami and it was very turbulent with some 10 knot winds pushing me to the right, when I got to 50, 40, 30, etc the cadence of the voice was much too high, signaling a high descent rate, so I pushed the screw on the MCP panel for TO/GA and nothing was happening, I tried to move my physical throttles but nothing was happening either, I tried pressing the buttons on the throttles and still nothing. I had both flight directors on and I was in APP mode. This is probably a noob question and I'm not saying anything is wrong with the aircraft, it's obviously a user error. hello, the whole day I set up my new P3Dv4. In the evening I wanted to start a leg with the Queen and what happens? All liveries are damaged, even the PMDG-houses. I deinstalled the Queen and installed it again but nothing changed. The T7 looks amazingly, everything is fine there; only the Queen What can I do now; do I have to start a ticket now? Kai By the way, this "livery" is unique I believe.

I have the PMDG 747-400X V2 and built a cockpit around it. I have 2 touchscreens, one for the overhead panel and the other for the CDU. Another monitor shows the displays such as the PFD etc. I would have bought the V3 apart from the lack of 2D panels. It would seem that PMDG consider that we cockpit builders are a dying breed (perhaps I am the last) and so there is no need for 2D panels. I would like to think that PMDG would encourage people to enhance their experience by at least giving us the opportunity to do so. However I admit that I am being a bit selfish as there are probably not enough people like me to make 2D panels worth including. It's a shame.

Hello, How can I edit the Ident page on the 747. I want to edit the NAVDATA (name of the NAVDATA. instead of "AIRAC1706" I will write there "DLH1612002" for example). I also want to edit the DRAG/FF, the OP PROGRAM, the CO DATA and the OPC. How can I do that. thank you, Amit

Dumb question as I'm still learning this plane. But I sometimes see the yellow EICAS message "SPEED CONFIG". I searched through the entire FCOM and even the Internet but couldn't find anything on this message. Anyone have any idea where I can find it spelled out in the book? Thanks.

I just noticed the PMDG operations center had another small 747 update. It wasn't there a few hours ago when I loaded the operations center.

Hi guys, I was on the way to Hong Kong from Dubai in the 747 when I saved my flight because I wanted to reboot the PC and P3D v4. Before I recognized that I didn't had the winds shown on the top left corner on the ND. So I decided to save. Now - as soon as my flight is loaded it shows me the green pop-up that the panel is loading "20.." and then its over. The cockpit keeps dark and nothing is loading. What could be the reason for this and how can I continue my flight? Thanks a lot for the help in advance :) Timm

Sometimes the APP button will not engage. It happens about 50% of the time. The FMS is fully programmed and works fine in all other modes. On the NavRad page shows the correct ILS Freq. as well. This is on P3Dv3.4. also updated with the latest Airac cycle.

Hi chaps, Just a quick question about the ground spoiler retraction - I know that the spoilers automatically retract having been armed for landing if engine 1 thrust lever is increased to a certain range to provide go-around protection, but after a normal landing, when you cancel reverse in the real aircraft, does the speedbrake lever automatically go back to the down position? Because that is what mine is doing at the moment and I suspect it's because of the way I have my controls set up - namely I enter reverse thrust with a button on my throttle quadrant set to reduce throttle quickly, and I cancel it by pressing a button set to increase throttle quickly. I have been experiencing a problem during the installation of all PMDG airplanes, when installing Directx components, it stops and says that it is not possible to download the components and asks to check my connection or try later. The problem is this. After takeoff and climb to the transition, I turn on autopilot, VNAV and LNAV. And the next thing happens, the climb stops and the plane flies with a roll down. Clicking on MCP (height setting) to go set does not make any changes. If you disable LNAV and the height is typed with a vertical then it goes to climb. In FMC everything is hammered and the trimer is exposed. The flight plan is planned in PFPX. Simulator P3Dv4. And the same happens as in 747 and 777. What is it can be and how to fix it?

It appears that since the latest micro-update, my inboard landing lights are reversed (left switch turns right light on and vice-versa), tested on 400 and 400F versions. I also noticed that they seem weaker than before, I assume this has to do with the optimization attempt. After very little time testing, I'd say at first glance, performance with dynamic lighting on has indeed improved a bit for me (I did delete my shaders before update after reading feedback of perf loss otherwise somewhere here).

Hi. On 02 March 2017 I purchased the PMDG 747-400 Queen of the Skies II - Base Package for Prepar3D v.3 (1861-48). Is it compatible with Prepar3D v.4 or do I have to download a new version? Today I did the installation in Prepar3D v.4, but started the flight I was not asked for the serial number of the product; The aircraft has powered engines, all power off panels, and inactive mouse pointer.
