PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

    Hello. Purchased the queen yesterday - all went well with install and got a few flights in. Today, I loaded up the aircraft and none of the buttons on the fmc work... can't navigate it at all. Everything else in the aircraft is clickable. Anyone run in this? Thanks, Piotr Dobrowolski

    I am trying to master some engine out takeoffs and according to some books I read (e.g. Mike Rays 747-400 pilot handbook) I would expect the slip/skid indicator to give some advice. However, it seems that the indicator is always centered. Even when performing an engine out approach (three autopilots active) and then disconnecting the autopilots below the minimums will always show the indicator centered - but of course I have to give a lot of rudder to successfully continue the landing. Is it correct that the slip/skid indicator is always centered or am I missing something? Best regards, Holgrt

    Hello folks, I'm coming across what appears to be some sort of AIRAC/Navigraph error as it relates to Chicago O'Hare tonight. I'm enroute from the Caribbean to KORD, and upon entering my destination the FMC immediately reports KORD ERR: 10C RWY N/A. In addition, the KORD arrivals pages on the FMC have no available data (no runways, STARs, or approaches). I looked this up via Google/AVSIM and I'm noticing a similar error was affecting folks with the 777 back in 2014, but I can't seem to find a consensus on what the fix was.     Hi, I am trying to start a British Airways PMDG BAW 747-400 with Rolls Royce engines. I have the APU running; Pack 1 Normal, Pack 2 & 3 OFF; Duct Pressure of 29 PSI. However, if I pull the engine start switches, there is no airflow to the engines even though the Bleed Valves are OPEN and the duct pressure increases to 51PSI?     Hey there fellow simmers, apologies if this has already been answered. I did a search in this forum and read Kyle's fantastic Introduction pdf. I was wondering if it was possible to control the throttles in the Queen individually by using ESP's "engine select" function. What I mean is, in the 737 and 777 you can simply press "E + 1 (or 2)" and use a single physical throttle axis to control either the right or left engine (I don't recommend this in the 777!). Anyway It doesn't seem to work in the 744. Was wondering if this is because of the unique way the throttles are coded in the Queen or if I was missing something.     I think this is a known issue as I saw it in the "Read this before posting" thread. After getting the sim to install in FSX, when I select a PMDG 747 it loads but is non-functional. As posted in the above mentioned thread, "Issues where the aircraft loads into the simulator with the screens dead and no landing gear. (failure of dll initialization)" This is exactly what I'm experiencing. Also my control yoke doesn't work. If I change back to a default aircraft everything works fine. So is there a fix for this?     So, I went online and got me a used gamer rig big enough to run FSX. Then I thought, I need a better yoke and THQ, so I bought that too.     Hi all, I'm new to the PMDG 747v3 and have been slowly learning to fly it. It's a work of art and runs very well. However on my long haul flights I've noticed a strange issue; it freezes for a period of time, runs for a bit, then freezes again, and repeat. I can spend an hour prepping and taxiing on the ground and it never happens, then during climb there'll be a very short hang (<5s), the duration and frequency of these hangs increase until at around an hour into the flight the plane is essentially unflyable (freeze 30s, run 5s etc). The pax 747's I am finding, at least the BCF's, have the autobrake on the right side of the center console below the transponder, not on the bottom left by the smoking/seatbelt. second, an option to have the 3 balls (white and one orange) on the main middle window bar to adjust your seat would be great.     Hi everyone, I was trying to figure out how to change the auto step climb size in the FMC options but couldn't figure. Its currently set to ICAO and at S/C the aircraft soars 4,000 feet to the next step. I think I need to set the S/C to RVSM. Would appreciate the guidance here. Thanks, Jay

  17. Hello Guys, since 1 week i have some problems with my QOTS2. The CDU Tab input do not work (yes, its activated in the settings) and the cockpit illumiation is way too dark. The displays, MCP and CDU are as bright as normal, but the lettering is almost not readable (and yes, i set all knobs to the right).   20. Hi guys! I have a really odd issue: If i enable the cloud shadows option in P3D i lose some vc items (the vertical speed knob, the IAS knob, the autopilot disengage bar, etc). If i disable the cloud shadow option i get these vc knobs back. btw: its just a graphical glitch. I can still operate the knobs, is just that they dont show. Im running the latest 747 version, and im using the latest radeon drivers. If needed i can post pics of the issue

    Hello, The introduction said to turn off autorudder. I did. But, without it, during taxi, I cannot turn left or right. The nosewheel is also not animated if autorudder is off. Why? The ailerons are for banking. Not steering. Why does it activate while steering?

    Hi Guys, After installing the latest update through the PMDG Ops Center (with all the required and usual precautions - AV OFF, running it as admin, etc.) I have found, that my 747F (PW) does not accelerate above 200 KIAS. Engine start, ground handling, taxi and takeoff seem to be normal, but the acceleration is very slow during the initial climb phase and after selecting gear up I am unable to reach F0 speed. Climb rate becomes zero and the aircraft is fying with a pronounced nose down attitude with long. trim almost at the forward limit and with engine power (EPR) at the FMC computed max climb rating.   24. I love the automatic ground services, but I can't figure out how to make the duration shorter than one hour. The "short" setting is one hour, so I thought "custom" would allow something less.   25. Hi all, I downloaded and installed the 747v3 last night. During installation, there was a box that popped up saying some Microsoft software had to be installed. After a few seconds the box message changed and said it could not reach Microsoft and try again later. I searched the PMDG forums but didn't find any clues.
