PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II

Hi, Not sure if this is a known error (can't see any other topics about it); when using the nose cargo service vehicle, a small part of it can be seen intruding into the flightdeck, above the CDUs. This obscures most of thier screens in the defaul "CDUs and ECL" viewpoint. I'm using FSX:SE, with the Fedex livery 747-8. After installing the installers for today's service pack, my activation key does not work.

747-800, APU Running, starter switches 3 and 4 selected, fuel cutoff switches set to run for engines 3 & 4. Autostart confirmed on lower EICAS, engines spooling but no start. The -400 would be running by now, am I missing something silly? Howard Rhett

Is the current link on my Account Page the latest updated version that is compatible with & when I purchase and install the 747-8 Expansion? The reason I ask is I just uninstalled the version I had for the 747-400 Queen base Package and no longer have the upgrade notification in the Operations Centre. Regards, Tom Stewart

Hi guys, In the B747 FMC COMM page, the DATA LINK is in NO COMM. So I can't update the winds, ... How I can I activate the DATA LINK please? Best, Fabien

the engines of the 747-8 seem to shake even if the plane is on the ground and at idle. this seems highly unrealistic as I have seen the 747-8f taxi many times at PDX, and I have never seen the engines move like that in real life.

Is the tutorial for the 747-400 also valid for the 800 as some systems are different? The tutorial in the PMDG folder shows the 747-400 tutorial 1 date of 02/28/2017. I thought there would be a new tutorial for the 800 series. JeffG

Just installed the 747-8 expansion, after downloading the new 747-400 installer. When I go to change the payload in the FMC, the number doesn't change. The passenger numbers do, but the payload and GW numbers don't. Throttle on my Logitech stick doesn't work, nor do the trim buttons I have assigned to P3D trim. Others, such as the parking brake, do. They're properly assigned in the P3D control menu. All panel states are labelled as 744, I assume this is intentional? All ground service vehicles will not release, nor do they show up visually. After pushback, I still had external power available. Clicking on release for the ground vehicles does nothing.…

I bought the 747-8 expansion but I'm going to have to live without the rainmaker effects. Since 4.3 came out I've been unable to get P3d4 4.3 working with uninstalling the 4.2 client and installing 4.3 client. I've read everything surrounding this but it just stays stuck on the splash screen. I deleted the dll, scenery, cfg, moved the addon.xml files out of the folder, deleted shaders, moved the planes out of the airplanes folder. I've run out of options other than a fresh install and I really don't want to do that again as I did it with 4.2 and it takes forever with all my addons. Anybody have any ideas otherwise I'm stuck with no rainmaker effects. Norm…

Maybe a PMDG member can help here. I linked up acars etc and did my preflight in the acars. However Im cruising now and realized that the times just have **** over them. Is it because I didnt use pushback. I literally started the APU. Started engines then removed wheel chocks and went. Not sure If I missed something or not.

As version 4.3 has an annoying (for me) bug where it cuts the windshield of the FSLabs Airbus off in the field of view, I am still on 4.2. Will the 748 work on 4.2? Anyone also on 4.2 with the 748 running?

Ive did a previous topic of this BUT still nothing works! ive buyd the PMDG 747 QOTSll but nothing works please help!!! i love to fly the 747 i tryed reinstalling it , repairing it BUT NOTHING works 😞 And no dont say ive been screeming bec it was really frustrating if you buy somethime and it doesnt work come one…. i you buy something for 90USD and it doesnt work and you are really exited to fly a 747....

Well, fellow fliers! As the PMDG website is currently down for site maintenance (and our flights are being delayed by "paperwork"!), could it be that the QOTSII update and -8 release is imminent? My guess is probably so. Get ready for a couple of big downloads, pilots!

Hello PMDG, I would like to make a respectful suggestion. Your new website is beautiful. I noticed that on the page for the 747-8 expansion that you have "Simulator: Prepar3D v3.4+" This is unintentionally a little unclear and confusing. It could look like the product will only work in P3Dv3 and it's upgrades, but not in P3Dv4 and upgrades. Since P3Dv4 is the 64bit version, it should be kept separate. It would be better to say "Simulator: Prepar3Dv3.4+ and version 4+" Because I've been watching this product for release, I know that it will work in P3Dv4.3, but normally I won't buy a product for P3Dv4 that is not specifically advertised for v.4,…

I have asked in this forum several times about the minimum oil quantity that is required to be in the engines to ensure a safe flight. I got no answers here, so I went online and I wish to share it with you so you all know when to refill oil or at least why they need to be above a certain minimum for safe flying. B747-400 GE engines: min. engine oil: 16 QTS on the ground with engines off B777 RR engines: min. engine oil before engine start: 18QTS hope it helps virtual pilots

With the engines running the plane would shake but when I put the parking brake on the shaking would stop. Anyone else have this issue? Is this supposed to happen?

Why do I occasionally have to enter the activation code for the PMDG 747? Can't this product remember my activation code? Every once in a while it asks me to enter this code. Makes no sense to me. I have not changed anything, except maybe adding a few new airports.
