    Hi, new simmer here, trying to read through the 747 manual but very confused because everything seems to be abbreviated/using an acronym without ever explaining what it is referring to. Is there a list somewhere that has all these acronyms? Thanks

  2. Dear all I needed to format my computer due to issues in performance (probably virus), and so, all my prepar3d. After reinstall windows and P3D, I tried again reinstall my pmdg planes for P3Dv4 (747 and 777), but during the installation of both I have the same error (Installation Failure at AnchorService x64 Install. Unable to complete installation), and then, when I select the plane on P3D, I got another message (Initialization of license library failed..) Could you guys help me? Best regards

    If anyone has gotten this to work with the queen of the Skies 2 add-on, please let me know what you did. My 737ngx works perfect, but the 747 QOSII does not communicate with the mCP Pro. The manual says the device is automatically configured. hopefully someone out there knows what settings I need to change to make this to work with the 747. My cockpit setup.

    In setting up the FMC there are some issues. First, it says to select COORZ3 SID but this is not listed, instead there is a COORZ2. Second, in arrivals it lists to chose DYAMD3 STAR which is not even listed. This makes it rather difficult to follow along and learn this aircraft. I have found minor things like this in the 737 and 777 tutorials but it is usually a typo or one digit is wrong. This is missing completely. Is there an update or something? Thanks in advance. I am still trying to make the transition to tubes and navigation and setting up arrivals and programming autolands is very challenging and why I am practicing tutorial flights. I have not found flight plans …

  7. Hello, I have just purchased the PMDG 747 and a lot of the other products. I activated the 747 and after it activated, it started loadinga and after 100%, I got a blank screen and it shutdown my sim. I rebooted and after loading 100%, it shutdown. I found out however when I enter in a different aircraft and then switch to the 747, the 747 works but when I use the 747 initially when the sim is loaded, it just shuts down after 100%. I tried unregistering the product and reinstalling, but no luck. I am very confused and would like to know the fix so I can load into the 747 in the initial load up of the sim. Thanks!     Hello all, Unlike the 777 or the 737, the BARO knob we use in the 744 to preset the decision altitude is scaled 10ft by 10ft and the RADIO knob foot by foot. This seems to me kinda odd since most approach charts specify decision altitudes with numbers like 217' or 675' and decision heights like 200' or 700'. Is there a reason why Boeing choosed to do this? Just curious... Happy flying Alexandre Giordan

    Hi, I was watching a video of a real 747-400 pilot flying the PMDG QOTSII and he made a comment re the audible alert of the Autothrottle being turned to OFF.. Ref: @ at 50:50 ish... "and that autothrottle alert, doesn't actually happen.. in real life." My question is.. is he correct for all 744's.. should it be audible if disarmed during taxi? Or is it a company option thing? Also.. I noticed on startup he has Autothrottle OFF and switches it to ARM during taxi to the runway.. in most of my flights it's in the ARM position all the time.. even when shutdown at the gate.. again is this simply a 'company procedure' thing? Hi folks, I am wondering if anyone could shed some light on what the exact procedure is for descending out of and leaving the north atlantic tracks if you have a fault or emergency, or even a depressurisation, mid-atlantic? I'm just flying across the Atlantic and obviously it's a lot quieter on VATSIM than real life, but if I were to suffer a malfunction that would require me to descend and leave the tracks for diversion purposes (e.g. turn back to CYYT), what exactly am I to do without colliding into other traffic below or in the tracks alongside me?     I am receiving the following message in the FMC. It appears to be related to the Captain/First Officer clocks not agreeing. The F/O clock reflects the correct time system, but the Captain's clock is approximately 3 hours ahead. The Date on both clocks is correct. I need to correct the Captain's clock, but do not know how to adjust it? blaustern

  13. Hello, During startup for engine 4 - dual start with 3 - for a period of time, the spinner cone animation stops. Then, as the engine builds up rotation, it starts again and proceeds as normal. Has anyone else seen this? This is the 747-400F model in Polar Air Cargo (2011) livery. Thanks.

    Just starting in on her. Lots more works needs to be done. Alignment check on the tail, I'm pretty happy where the Delta logo is sitting on the hump. On the todo list is weathering for all the doors. Especially Jetway wearing. Add brake dust and a few other odds and ends. And apparently checking the window variant I had selected....

    I recently purchased the new PMDG 747 V3, I noticed that the Airac is 5 years out of date, so, the tutorial does not comply with the Airac information, the KSFO arrival page indicate a total different STAR selection, there is no DYAMD3 STAR. Why not include an update AIRAC right from the start, this makes no sense, I can not use the DYAMD THREE ARRIVAL because it does not exist on the STARS page. Please anybody Thank you Jacobus Homan

    Hi all, I have recently set up P3Dv4 and in turn purchased the 747 QOTS 2 to go with it. As a fan of somewhat difficult approaches one of my must-haves for Flight Simming has always been the old Hong Kong Kai Tak airport, and as an extra step to try and add realism to it I am looking to add the old "60" callout that Cathay Pacific aircraft used to have on their GPWS back when Kai Tak was still operational. From looking at the option .inis I can find the options for the callouts, however "60" does not appear to be one that is available. Has anyone here looked into a potential work around for this with regards to potentially adding the callout in? I woul…

  22. Hello smarter people than I. I have a very small issue which I was not able to find on the forum. And not a very important one I might add. When starting engine #4, it will rotate approx., 3-4 rotations then freeze, prior to fuel being turned on. Then spin up to normal speed after several seconds. None of the other engines do this. It happens with every livery. Am I not doing something correctly or, is this a known "bug" which I should just wait for the next update? Thank you in advance. Kind regards. David Bell

    hello, i have an issue that has just recently popped up. It may have been when i upgraded to 4.3. the glass on CRT's is no longer curved, the display looks like a LCD display on top of the CRT, with blank areas between the edge of the display on the edge of the glass. this also happens on the Maddog MD80 FMC's any ideas?

    Hi PMDG, Considering that the 748 will still take I suppose at least 4-6 months before release (I would bet we won't see it in 2018), we can say that the 744 will be below the "current standard" as to the windshield rain effect, that is appearing on all the main liners from the other companies. Couldn't the effect be fit into the 744 in the meantime, without having to wait all that long? Thank you.
