ChasePlane Support

hi, everyone, I am unable to interact with my plane i.e. change heading select altitude or change radio frequency when I use a chase plane view but I can when I use fsx virtual cockpit view. is there any fix for this or do I have to wait for some new update?

Can someone explain the functions and correct use/settings for the CP menu item shown in the image. I was under the impression it was for adjusting camera effects in cinema external mode. What exactly do sinusoidal, quadratic, cubic etc mean and what do they achieve? I have tried all manner of adjustments and combinations but they seem to have little affect when in cinema mode.

I dont know if I am right here but anyway. I really want to say thank you for Chaseplane. I was quite sceptical about the product, cause I used Ezdok for a long time. Now I switched over to a new computer and give chaseplane a try. Also I am not familar with it at all, it feels very good from the first start. Nice interface and easy to use. I will now set up my own new cameras and settings and love it. Thank you for the great product ;)

Hi I was wondering does real world wind actually effect the wind effect movement inside cp. It seems to me that if I turn up the effect it just is a random bounce effect. Thanks Anthony

Exp. 4.160 Locked spot now zooms way way way in on the inside of all my planes. Can you please give me back my locked spot view Keven? Disregard. Don't know what happened, it started to work again.

Using experimental build, when I pan using mouse in external view it skips to different points around the aircraft, frame rate isn't dropping but panning is not smooth

When I switch to spot view or locked spot view the panning is very slow and zoom in/out buttons no longer work. What settings do I need to adjust to fix this problem?

Kevin, CP will start and load fine the first time P3D is ran. After a few view changes using keyboard hot keys, CP will stop responding and only work mouse clicking in the UI. If I restart just CP it will tell me ...' Start your Simulator...'. I can restart CP any number of times but it fails to see P3D is already open. This 'losing the sim' also happens somtime when changing AC or location. This is with the new beta build although i went back to 3.70 and it does the same. -Dean.

Good day all, I've recently decided it finally time to make the move to P3D from FSX. So, today i've been moving addons over to P3D. During a test, i realized that Chaseplane wasn't loading on startup of the sim, so i ran the .exe file to manually start it. When i did, a dialog box came up saying "an unexpected error as occurred :/" and that a log has been sent to FSFX packages. After clicking ok to acknowledge it, another pops up saying that it will revert Chaseplane to an older, stable version so that im not stop in an "infinite loop of death", which obviously doesn't work as it happens everytime i load it up. Hello guys, After testing CP for few months and having better and worse experience with it, I can say that 0.4.157 works really nice. Just to be clear, I'm aware it's stil in beta stage and it will take a lot of time and your work to release 1.0 version. So far, good job! Forgive me my English, I'm not native speaker and it's evening so I'm quiet tired already. Now, there are some features I love, other just don't use. I will skip talking about "Replay Mode" since it just experimental and you will not focus on it right now and jump into Cameras. Hi for a while now i'm having issues with the camera effects who are not working anymore in prepar3d v4.1. i have no shaking , no blast zone effects etc... none of the effects are working. i played around with the sliders , even maxxed them out but no luck , it's not working. it was working before so i wonder why it's not anymore i run windows 10 with all the latests updates and simming on P3d v4.1 would be great to be able to fix this , i miss them Thanks

Hi all, I bought Chaseplane about 2 weeks back. When I first installed it - all worked well. But then I did something fatal to P3Dv4, so I reinstalled it. Now I absolutely cannot get Chaseplane to work at all. It loads, it creates cameras, but there is no control of P3Dv4 whatsoever, either by controls set in CP or by using the camera slew tools in CP. I've tried reinstalling CP, made sure I have the right Simconnect (from FSX-XP2 folders in P3Dv4 - the ones CP itself installs.) made sure joystick buttons aren't assigned in P3D (they aren't). I even tried using a totally different controllers - an Xbox controller and a Spacemouse - both disabled in P3D…

Is there a way to verify that I have configured my TrackHat and ChasePlane correctly? I have it working, but just want to verify ChasePlane is getting the data and not P3d.

I am now getting a windows prompt asking to close CP after P3Dv4 and CP already closed, build v0.4.150 Beta - never happened before. Has something been added to settings for this to occur?

I am sure there is a way to save/backup presets for future use but I can't find the option... The manual says how to import presets but not how to save them. I am sure the presets are stored somewhere? What is the easiest way to save all presets I made (preferably with key assignments) for whenever I need to reinstall my PC? Is it also possible to save all settings of CP? EDIT Ooooo, wait! Everything is saved 'in the cloud', right...? I totally forgot CP is online all the time. Are all presets AND settings saved online? Or only the presets?

I really love this product and appreciate the hard work on updates but dang, everytime I start up the Sim its an Update. Yesterday I was testing and I had at least 6-7 updates for CP. Tonight I start up the sim and yet ANOTHER 3 minute update. Update Update Update. Its starting to get a little annoying. Anyway to just have maybe 1-2 a day??

Hey. I bought chaseplane a good couple of months ago, and I’m quite happy with it. Although since today it’s gone downhill. Basically, I am not able to switch to an outside view whatsoever, I’ve tried doing so through an assigned key that I have always used, and used to work fine before. And also through the chaseplane window itself by clicking one of the outside views on my preset. It refuses to change. I have restarted my pc, ran vfx center, installed exp update. It doesn’t work. i have no clue what to do to solve my issue, seems like quite a weird one. I may also add that a lot of other stuff in my simulator is broken, I don’t know if this would aff…

CP has just downloaded the latest update and is no longer working, it just keeps asking to be restarted.

Ever since the new update, chaseplane never connects to the internet. This wouldn't be a problem if it didn't affect preset assignments which now never saves. So everytime I want to make a new key assignment for a preset and shut chaseplane, I'll have to re-apply that key assignment.

Greetings, I'm experimenting with WidevieW and a mutli-pc cockpit. My VC is going to be running on one PC and my outside view on another. Is there a way to set chaseplane up so it works like the VC-only camera? Where it blacks out the scenery? If I have a "window" to the outside world on another PC I'd certainly like to turn off the scenery on the machine I'm using for the VC.

I saw a video awhile ago that showed an easy method to unassign key combinations in p3d, but now I cannot find it or figure out how to do it for the life of me. Does anyone know?

Can anyone please offer some suggestions, preferable Keven, for this rather odd anomoly. Basically I have switch 1) assigned for an external view and then switch 2) for the VC view. So the problem arises probably one in five times. I click 1) for an external view, which works fine and then when I click 2) to return to the VC, but instead of doing so, it goes to a static, semi skeleton view. I then click switch 2) again and it then zooms into the correct VC view. I think the video is fairly self explanatory. Any suggestions to this annoyance would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, Today, after Chaseplane last update, Chaseplane crashing every time! I use P3D4.1.

Hello all, i keep getting a chase plane crash. The application will randomly close and weirdly causes the plane within the sim to "lose hydraulics" where the yoke or stick no longer controls aircraft. Plane dives into ground. I then try to re-open app and it doesn't recognize P3D being open. Any ideas? Thanks. - Josh

Hi, new Chaseplane user here, still studying the manuals ;) i have a question regarding Static cams, so far i can add different new Static cams, but how do i activate them in Prepar3D, do i have to use the Chaseplane UI everytime i like to jump to the next Static cam? My idea is this, i would like to start a replay viewing from different Static cams, a button or a key to jump to another cam, without the Chaseplane UI visible, is that even possible? thanks for any help Nedo
