need a little help from user-to-user.

I have set up cameras in one variant (A321) and would like to transfer them to all other variants.

I have tried by exporting and importing by replacing - does not work. No cameras are removed or created. Same default remain.

If I try to copy between the folders, yes, the new cameras appear, but so do the default ones stay.

Deleting each default cameras is very tedious. I have to go into the camera, scroll down, click delete and confirm. And that for each aircraft variant.

Is there a better way?

Never had an issue before. I have since uninstalled chaseplane p42 from the community folder but I am still getting ctd everytime. Tried with a fresh community folder only with fsltl installed using  stock plane and airport but still happens. I'm assuming there is still a conflict somewhere from a chase plane file in the msfs main files. Can anyone help before I have to do a full reinstall of msfs2020 ?

Example: PMDG B737-800 BW and PMDG B737-800 SSW.

Right now, having to recreate identical camera setups for each livery or variant is painful and unnecessarily time-consuming.

This question was actually asked back in 2017 (hence the Part 2), and while a workaround was suggested at the time, I can’t find a way to apply that solution in the current MSFS 2024 + ChasePlane environment.

So I’m revisiting the topic:

  • Is there currently a supported way to reuse or sync views across aircraft variants?

  • Or is this still a limitation of the platform?

Any clarification or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yesterday I tried loading in the TDS A350 when it kept making the simulator crash when loading it in the menu. I tried fixing it by using the "Verify the integrated files" thing on Steam (I use FSX Steam) to fix it, but did nothing. So I gave up and switched to the FSPXAI A350. Then later on I tried loading in the Aerosoft A320 Family (I brought it in the Steam DLC) and for some reason, instead of the default camera being the On-board Camera from ChasePlane, it was one of the cockpit cameras included by Aerosoft. I tried fixes like disabling the View Options in the MCDU2, renaming the "Views" HTML file to "Views_old", removing both Views and Views_old files, adding the 2 slashes in the gauge 46 entry in the panel.cfg, restarting the simulator, my laptop, reinstalling chaseplane, but nope. I also noticed that this message keeps appearing every time I start up the simulator. I searched the "The following aircraft have been modified to work with ChasePlane" term in google and absolutely no forums showed up. Am I the only one suffering this problem? Please help me, thanks.

I sit possible to use both together. I started TrackIR from the desktop and go into the MSFS and there Chase Plane works automatilc, but it doesn´t recognise Track IR and TrackIR isn´t working, when CP is in action. How can I use both? Chase Plane doesn´t switch of the file in the TrackIR directory, as it was told in the tutoriaö Video.

I'm having a couple of issues.  The first issue is for no apparent reason the camera view will change to external view all by it self, I did not hit any commands.  It does this around the  middle of my flight.

 

Issue 2, this usually happens during my final decent.  The camera will freeze up.  It doesn't matter what I do, for approximately 20 seconds the camera will freeze up.  I cannot make any movements with any controls and the mouse will also freeze up. 

 

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issues.

 

I deleted the Chaseplane program and tried it just using the MSFS setup and it worked fine, but as soon as I re-install chase plane, it will do these actions during every flight.  I also emptied my community folder, same issues.

I have an axis for left right pan and tilt up/down but its painfully slow. Using P3d v5. Can't see how to speed up the camera. NOT talking about presets I'm mostly expert with all the options there just the PAN camera left right and tilt up/down.

Oh also have another hat switch for left right forward back and that's also snail pace speed.

Hope someone is still reading these!

PS these assignments are configured in global control settings, you can choose reverse axis but not speed when assigning.

After a few month of my last flight, today decided to fly again and this error appears when open chase plane alone or when open my sim (P3D v5.3) and chase plane try to open automaticly.

Really I don't know what happened, I try to uninstall and reinstall over and over again from my control panel or Orbx Central, but nothing works.

]]>661655Sat, 11 Jan 2025 16:52:46 +0000ChasePlane Freezinghttps://dev.avsim.com/forums/topic/547753-chaseplane-freezing/ Haven't been able to find this issue anywhere, so hoping you guys can help me.  I experience random freezing of ChasePlane using P3D v4.4  What I mean by freezing is, it'll stop responding to view changes for approximately 1 minute.  Sometimes it never happens during a flight...sometimes it'll happen a dozen times.  Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.  It won't respond to joystick buttons, keyboard assignments or even clicking on the preset in the ChasePlane window.  Happens with all aircraft...well, at least payware aircraft (I don't use the free stuff normally)...so specifically right now, the PMDG 737, 777, QW787 and the Majestic Dash 8.  I've done a complete, clean uninstall and reinstall of everything.  While frozen, the sim itself is still running and I can click on switches, knobs, etc...but can't change view or even pan for about a minute.

Any suggestions?

To get to see how it all works I have successfully created a number of 'Presets' for parts of the VC in a simple aircraft - FSX's C172.

All seem good and are a huge help in that now I can quickly bring up parts of the VC when required in flight.

However most FSX aircraft have 'Pop-Ups' for particular gauges etc that are not part of the main panel eg in the C172 'Shift+3' brings up the GPS. However as the GPS isnt an integral part of the main panel I cant find a way to create a 'Preset' for it using ChasePlane - or could I if I knew how ? Of course I could just use 'Shift+3' but it would be much better if I could create a 'Preset' for it.

Can anyone help me please ?

Has anybody else come across this problem and have they managde to solve it.  I am using P3Dv 5.4.9.

These are located in your appdata folder ( c:\users\your_user_name\appdata\roaming\lockheed martin\prepar3d Vx)

Before installing any of the 2 addons, make a copy of your exe.xml and cameras.cfg. Then rename  the copied files to exe_default.xml and cameras_default.cfg

Install EZDok. Make a copy of exe.xml and cameras.cfg. Rename  the copied files to exe_ezdok.xml and cameras_ezdok.cfg

Install Chaseplane. Make a copy of  exe.xml and cameras.cfg. Rename  the copied files to exe_chaseplane.xml and cameras_chaseplane.cfg

Now you can manually copy the desired files or use a little app I have written (cameras.exe) to easely switch between the different camera systems.(I also use SimpleCam - if you don't use it, simply ignore it). First time use, go to Setting to setup the correct path for your system.

It is enabled in the preferences and i have tried both experimental on and off.  I’ve tried everything i can find on here from other topics.  The funny thing is that it was working fine one second and then from nowhere it just stopped hiding the cursor.   It is very anoying as the mouse goes off the screen to the other screens when panning a long way.  Please help.  I dont get why it would do this just out of nowhere.

Here's what's going on... if I go from a different window to P3D, I get this weird ~5 second lag in the MB pan before it resumes to normal speed. Anyone know what might be causing this? I have mouse pan in the virtual cockpit set to 5.75, so its meant to be a bit quick. (It's like Chaseplane is having 5 second sleep paralysis every time I come back to P3D!)

 

btw, if anyone here knows why my F-18 is beeping, lemme know! (Maybe its tired of me, eh?)

Since LINDA has the ability to assign keystrokes to just about any input from a controller (for instance, a hat switch can be assigned a keystroke or keystrokes) I had planned on integrating Chaseplane with LINDA. For instance, setting the Key value for Pan Left in Chaseplane to A and then programming LINDA to output A when using the hat switch. 

However, that does not work. LINDA will output that keystroke but Chaseplane does not respond to that, although it does if I use the keyboard to input the value. Is there a way of getting LINDA and Chaseplane to play well with each other?

The cockpit views are working fine -- however, I cannot get any outside presets to work. When I generate them using the GENERATE PRESETS engine, they all are centered from within the cargo hold, and the arrow keys (assigned in preferences) will not move the view in any direction. Switching to another external view does nothing -- each is exactly the same view and is frozen in place. 

Attempting to create a NEW external view (not pre-generated) will result in that new view assuming the same as the other non-functioning presets. 

Any help here is appreciated.

As you can see from the 2 pics(link)  in  the static view that i have setup the AI traffic engines textures are flickering black and also the surrounding scenery textures are flickering like crazy

The moment i enable Chaseplane the scenery shimmering stops immediately but the airplane textures(engine) are still black and flickering. All i did was copy the presets from PMDG 737 house to a livery i downloaded and since then i am noticing this problem. Not sure if its merely a coincidence or related. Please help. I have tried almost everything short of a clean install and i cant seem to fix the black texture flickering problem of the engines. Using UT2 AI traffic . Please help!
