On longer flights, I often have to leave and return at a later time, shutting down Xplane and P2A in the meantime, sometimes for a day. When I return, having restarted both programs, Xplane has me right back where I was and I can reload the flight plan I had saved in P2A. The problem is that I no longer have contact with ATC, though the correct leg of my P2A flight plan is highlighted. I assume I need to re-file the plan from my current position. Hi Dave, Whilst I've been working away on the PTT network sender and configuring airports I've noticed a couple of oddities that I thought I'd share in case they're bugs. I've noticed that when the Sayit Hot key is enabled, and you change the assignment of the key, it will not work until you uncheck and then recheck enable for the Sayit hot key. Only minor but thought I'd mention it. (This does not happen with the PTT key when performing the same task) Secondly, when I've been editing airports, after importing them from X-Plane, every now and again, quite randomly, I'll delete a normal taxiway marker, and suddenly lots will disappear, including all of their…

Hi Folks, Question - been flying IFR around Boston and New York - I have the full suite of "AIG" Major US Carriers loaded (100%) - and I have the full suite of "UT" GA Traffic loaded (100%) - I have yet to hear ANY ATC calls to anyone but me - - - I have received traffic alerts - does P2A actually interact with AI Aircraft ? I have never been able to hear the Morse ID on navaids while flying the Xplane default Skyhawk with the Garmin 530. The sound level adjustments, the ID on/off/volume on the 530, making sure the audio panel NAV1 was on...nothing helped nor did I find that anyone else had the problem. I lived with it. Now, using P2A with the same plane/avionics the ID is there at the perfect level, no need to touch the 530. This unexpected benefit is appreciated.

Hi Dave: For awhile now it seems I cannot tune COMM2 ( in any plane) to an ATIS and hear it when I get in range. I am pretty sure I used to be able to do this. Is there a setting in P2A I screwed up to prevent COMM2 from being heard? I do not have "P2A provides ATIS" checked in the configs. Thanks!

I'm still a bit new to P2ATC just having used it for about two days now. All in all it's an amazing improvement over the built-in ATC of X-plane. My biggest issue I'm having right now is that I'm forced to restart P2ATC after each flight. Each time after completing a flight and then creating a new flight plan starting from whatever airport I just landed at when I attempt to have P2ATC file/copy/clear the new flight plan it always tells me that "The flight plan does not originate at this airport". I've installed P2A for use with Xplane 11, went through the voice training successfully, have used the P2A voice skill building successfully so I know my voice is being recognized (mic is on, etc.) as I can replay and hear myself. The problem comes when I try to use either the SAY-IT feature or my own voice with PTT. I have a flight plan filed, I go to a clearance delivery freq for the airport where I am sitting. I pull up the request clearance delivery script for SAY-IT and send it. I get the tone indicating it was received but there is no response from ATC. If I use my own voice, I do not get the tone indicating I was heard and, of course, there is no ATC…

Hi, Just spent quite a bit if time updating ENGM airport taxiways, only to realise the satellite overlay the taxiway maintenance form uses is quite a bit out of date. If you look at Google Maps for ENGM, you'll see there's a new part to the terminal, lots of new parking spaces and taxiways etc. Is it possible to update these maps? I thought it was pulling them live, but I guess not if there slightly out. Any help much appreciated. Thanks, Mark.

Hi all, Not sure what went wrong but had to recently reinstall EVERYTHING for v4.3. Anyway whenever I fire up P2A, import a flightplan (from simbrief), connect, validate and file, my speech assistant has no entries to select no matter what I select from the drop down menues and no matter what frequency I am on (yes the frequency changes correctly). Show In-Line Grammar Help is selected. I can press the PTT button (turns green) and say 'say altimeter' and the program responds correctly. Its just that I have no entries in the speech assistant window. I am using P3D v4.3 (with various addons) and P2A 2.5.0.4 x64 R3

Hey all, I'm three days into a trial using P2A with X-Plane. Getting on well with it, considering I have to use the US voice recognition engine and I'm British. (Zed not Zee etc. 😉 ) However, one point, I suppose you could call it a bug, is the way it (or windows really) handles Acronyms. I find it hard to try and guess whether it's expecting letters or words. For example NDB & ILS are all said as letters, yet VOR is said as the word VOOOOR. I did some research and apparently this is because when an Acronym has a vowel in it, Text to speech will try and say it rather then spell it. This can be overridden however, by putting full stops between each lett…

My question is. Will there be an ocean clearance in the future? Since I like to fly transatlantically, I would be very interested if something like this is planned for the future.

Me and a friend are both having the same issue with the random voice assignment. When changing frequency one voice is diplayed (e.g. George) but the voice that talks remains e.g. Zira or George. On some rare occasions it seems to work though, e.g. yesterday on approach to destination airport I got "Irina" correctly displayed and unmistakeably with right voice 😉 Is this a known bug or is there a soultion? We have assigned only two voices manually, i.e. Zira for ATIS and Mark as our copilot. Thanks, Thomas

Dave, just wondering if there is anything I need to do to install P2ATC on my new computer so I can use it with P3D.

I am now spending time on trying to learn this program with the free trial period which has only two days left. I find it tricky and difficult to use. After some work I have come so far as to have ATC answer my requests. For example altimeter setting. But the answer is really weird 0880 and not correct. Then I ask for VFR clearance and was told to Repeat your request with a proper call sign Cessna Two Sierra Papa my call sign is Cessna N172SP . Why is that not proper ? It is a Cessna 172 and N172SP is written on the plane. How can I know if a call sign is valid ?

Hi, I just installed the trial, but haven't had the chance to try it out yet. I did have one question as it's the primary reason I'm looking for a new ATC program. When approaching an airport where the end of a STAR continues into the beginning of an approach, am I correct in saying that you won't be provided vectors unless specifically requested? Is there an option to randomly receive radar vectors without specifically requesting them? I've searched here and looked through the manual, but couldn't find anything. Often in the real world, you'll initially be assigned a STAR, but at some point vectored off this for spacing with other traffic. Sometimes it might be…

Still working on the trial and getting a feel for how the ATC works. Just wondering if ATC ever corrects you or reprimands you when you blatantly disregard their instructions. For example if you fly into controlled airspace without being cleared or being in the wrong pattern or taxing down the wrong taxiways. For example I was flying into a controlled airfield and requested a full stop landing on a 21R. ATC responded: "Baron Five Sierra XRay Expect to enter on a Right downwind for Runway Two One Right. call downwind". Instead, I disregarded their instruction and flew a straight in approach. Just bought the trial yesterday and have been reading manual. Set up an easy first 20 min flight today from KFLG to KPRC. So I start engines, put a direct to flight plan into the aircraft NAV. I tune my Comm 1 radio to 121.9 and contact Ground, "Ground, Baron five sierra xray, request taxi to runway two one". Ground responds with taxi instructions to runway 21. I repeat instruction and taxi, holding short at 21. I call Ground, "Ground <callsign> holding short runway two one." Ground replies to contact tower on 134.55. I repeat instruction. So far so good. Sometimes while talking to a controller whether it be departure, center, or tower, it seems that I may have made a call that the program doesn't recognize and I lose all communication with P2ATC. It just ends. I can make as many calls as I want, I can switch center frequency, but nothing seems to work. I just lose P2ATC. No one will answer me. Is it me, or maybe a glitch in the program or what. Most of the time everything is great, but just every once in a while I experience this problem.

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. Several times per flight atc will notify me of traffic at x o'clock, y miles. But it isn't there. It's not just that I'm not seeing it -It's not on TCAS either. Most of the time traffic notifications are correct. This only happens in maybe 10% of alerts. I use AIG. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Don't know for sure what the problem is, but the last 2 -3 times I've used P2ATC I have to repeat 95% of my calls at least 2-3 times and sometimes I just can't get thru. I keep getting "aircraft calling (whoever) please repeat with your call sign." I can make the call with my call sign and make what ever statement I need to make and then I go thru it all over again. Thought it was maybe a mic problem, so I went thru setting up my mic again. Didn't work. So I went thru the speech recognition, still same problem. I'm really frustrated now. Never had this problem before. Can someone give me a clue as to what I'm doing wrong? BTW, I know it's there but I hate using "…

Hi! I bought ATC-Chatter and installed everything as described. Couldn't hear any chatter so I manually assigned a file to Clearance Delivery for testing purposes. That didn't solve the problem, but something else did. So everything is fine now except that I can't get rid of the Clearance Delivery File. The Clr-Button does not react to klicking, and it doen't get its blue frame either unless moving the mouse pointer away, so I guess it's some problem in the code. Is there a manual way to delete that manually assigned sound file? Looked into different .xml files under <user>\APPData\Roaming\P2A_200\Settings but didn't find that entry. Happy for help, as it …

Hi Dave, I got a free trial 10 days ago. I couldn’t get windows to find new headset so I sent it back and they exchanged for one that works. I just got it yesterday and was able to do some voice learning and now today I was ready to try a flight and it had expired. I will probably purchase it anyway but I wish I had more time with a working headset. t Thanks it seams like a solid product. Greg

This isn't a P2A bug at all but I figured this may be a good place to start. The other day I noticed speech recognition stopped working in P2A and FS2Crew. I haven't changed anything so I'm not sure what happened. When I check my windows speech settings - they are all unchanged. Not sure where to start. Ive already restarted the PC as thats fixed a few issues in the past. Running W10 pro. Any help is appreciated!

As the title says, I had been looking for an alternative ATC for some time and use Radar Contact with FSX but in X-Plane 11 had been looking for a more immersive experience. Downloaded Pilot2ATC after reading that it allowed a ten day trial period. Once the trial finished I was sold on it, granted there is a heck of a lot to learn to get the best from this software and also found ways to improve listening to the controllers thanks to Dave where another user had difficulty on hearing instructions, also have added more TTS voices thanks to another thread on here.
