hi using fsxse with dx10 steves scenery fixer and was thinking of getting as16 just wondering if there would any problems using with the fixer. thanks,jim

I7 3.8Ghz, GTX760, Win 10, FSX Gold. My frame rate is 30 or better and smooth with few blurries and very rare stutters or glitches. But when flying off bush strips the dust cloud kicked up by prop wash flashes. Doesn't occur using DX-9. I've read and reread the Fixer manual but can't identify a tweak that might solve my problem. And I've studied tweaks for fsx.cfg, too, but it's not obvious what I might do to solve the problem that way either. Can anyone with more knowledge than I suggest a solution? You can see what I mean at 0:14 and 0:19. It's worse in the original clip 0:19-0:26, but I edited most of it out by cutting …

Since i switched to DX10 the snow is sometimes a bit green like on the pic. Any idea? The light and daytime? Max

Hello. I've updated to the Windows Fall creators update build 16299.125 and all is fine except I'm getting screen tearing, looked in FSX.cfg and Force Vsync is still there. I'm not sure what's happened, any ideas? Thanks.

I received this error when trying to apply settings in fsx.cfg: "Cannt create backupo of fsx.cfg. (0) System Error was 5 " I reinstalled new version 3.4 and must have made some error. The correct folder for the cfg file is shown in the app. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling texture to no avail. Any help is appreciated in fixing this. Thanks.

Hi Steve, Yesterday, 30 November, I bought the DX10 Fixer and the Clouds addon. Both installed OK and working well. I am very pleased. Running FSX and DX9 for years, I have used REX 4 with Soft clouds and used a water set that was close to reality, but the shallow water with coral has always been a very light blue, very unrealistic. I live right on the Great Barrier Reef in central Queensland so I know what it looks like. Actually, here, when the water gets shallow, it turns more a pale green / yellow with sand on the bottom. I found another program, long time ago, FS Water Configurator, which allowed me to cut back on the bright light blue that was shown …

Hi Steve, This may already have been discussed previously but I couldn't find a thread on it. I've noticed that the landing lights on my AI aircraft are not aligned correctly with the aircraft. I'm using WOAI mostly but have also noticed it with ORBX AI aircraft as well. They appear above the aircraft. This is not a new, as I've had this issue for some time. I just figured that possibly there is a correction or setting fix out there and I've just not picked up on it yet. Thanks again for this amazing tool, Steve. I wouldn't fly FSX without it. Alex

I wanted to ask a question, using the "Steve's fixer" I have to enable the bloom and lens flare effect in the FSX Steam Edition settings? If they are enabled are fps killer? If the bloom and lens flare effect are not enabled the effect in DX10 Preview together with the "Steve's fixer" is still better than the DX9?I saw in the basic guide of the FSX settings of Avisim and also on the user manual of the "Steve's fixer" that both effects are not enabled in the screenshots inside them, so I was reminded of the question whether they should be enabled or not. Hi, Installed under a folder in FSX:SE Root directory as mentioned in the Read Me. Cannot launch the Controller, it will not start and I get an error message "cannot locate CSIDL. (46). Tried to google and search in this forum but found nothing useful. Any suggestions? Regards, Pedro

Hello. I'm having a problem with my Aerosoft Berlin Tegel addon with the DX10 fixxer, tried updating to 3.4 and doing the lights and effect conversion but to no avail, at night the lamps above the parking have these strange transparent squares on them, they are not there if i go back to DX9 :(

I have no idea where to post a question like this ... There is a pretty thorough "How-To" document available that in conjunction with The DX10 Scenery Fixer will allow a user to optimize their DX10 setup in FSX. It recommends following the guide closely. It has been a few years since it's been updated, and some references are may no longer be accurate. In section 3, Setting Up Nvidia Inspector, it is highlighted quite clearly: "Very important: make sure that Inspector.exe and CustomSettingNames_en-EN.xml are both in the same folder - or NVI will not work." I have Inspector.exe, but I cannot find CustomSettingNames_en-EN.xml. Where would I find this file? If…

Hi, So, I have now tried with most combination in Nvidiainspector aswell as in DX10SceneryFixer. The scenery is somewhat improved, but the VC panel has almost no AA. Nomatter how I tweak DX10, there is no way to get smooth instruments in the cockpit. I use FSX What am I doing wrong? I have been using Steve's DX10 Scenery Fixer since is was released as a paid addon. Such a great investment! But I sometimes wonder if I've got things optimized. I find myself perplexed with understanding how to determine the best DX10 Anti Aliasing setting? It's a pretty open and generic question, but would someone be able to help me determine the best setting? I don't quite understand the selection based on DX9. (I don't know what the setting was in DX9?) I have an Nvidia GeForce 660ti graphics card with driver 388.13. I am using Nvidia Inspector 1.9.7.8. and DX10 Fixer 3.3. Thank you all in advance!

Hi everyone I'm hoping someone can help with this problem, my install of FSX SE refuses to run in DG10 mode, when the program gets to the Free Flight screen it does not display the aircraft selected just a black panel. Pressing Fly Now results in the sim locking up. I can select another aircraft but still get the same problem. I have deleted the Shaders Folder (of which I only have one there is no Shaders 10 folder) and also let FSX SE build another FSX.cfg, At a bit of loss with this one. Cheers Rich

Hi Is it possible run DX 10 Fixer and DX 9? I want to switch between both. DX9 is running via Simstarter at the moment. I ask because flying GA with DX 10 is beautiful. IFR with all effects kills my frames. What is needed? FSX Thanks Max

Hello there I have a small problem with the DX10 Fixer and the PMDG 747 V3. I bought me the DX10 Fixer for FSX and i satisfied with this. Sadly i have no tire smoke by the PMDG 747. I switched to DX9 and the smoke was back. by all other Aircrafts i have no problems at all.

My cloud shadows link is dead. How do I go about getting a new one ? Thanks

Hi I've previously run the DX10 fixer and the Cloud Shadows without any problem. I've recently reformatted my machine and completed a clean install of FSX-SE. I can install DX10 fixer without any problem, but when I install the Cloud Shadows add-on and attempt to update the libraries I get the message saying Installation Complete but as soon as I click on that I get an error message box: "Cannot open input xml file C:\Users\Neil\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml. System error was 2". The installation then fails. This is on a new Windows install and a completely clean FSX-SE Any ideas? Thanks

Hi I notice that I miss runaway lights with DX10 on EDDM from Taxi2gate. If I put Legacy slider to the full left, I have lights. Not sure if I had this before. What can cause this behavior? Can I have some negative results with other scenaries if I leave legacy slider full left. Last time we discuss similar behavior with Aerosoft LSZH but this is solved with last Dx10Fixer version. I have just purchased the DX10 fixer v3.3.103 and wish to install it for FSX and FSX-Steam. The manual states that in v2.9 there is a User Preferences section which allows you to select Dual System Mode, this option did not appear during installation. So how do I install the DX10 fixer for both FSX and FSX-Steam? Thanks
