I wonder why there are entries for Flight Simulator 10.0 and Flight Simulator - Steam Edition 10.0 in my registry. I never had FSX SE, only FSX. Does the DX10 fixer install a dummy registration for FSX SE for any reason? Not complaining - just a question. (FSX DX10 fixer V1.8) Wulf

Sorry - I have removed this after Greg's comment below whilst I resolve the issue. Although its easy to fix I need to adjust the installer to patch anyone who has downloaded the 1.7 already. Changes are(were!) Shows shadows on standard FSX runways and taxiways. Fix for crash if fsx.cfg is deleted Fix for blue land if sky reflection slider is 100% Just download the zip file and run the installer. There are some installation notes in the zip file as well

Is now available for download. The changes are the same as 1.7 announced yesterday but taxiway markings should now work! Changes are Shows shadows on standard FSX runways and taxiways. Hi. Recently tried to install DX10 Fixer 3.3 however, when I check DX10 Preview, FSX:SE crashes to the desktop right after loading a free flight. I don't believe this is a problem with the Fixer as it ran fine a few years back. I gave up with DX10 due to a texture problem with AMD Video Cards. After hearing they had fixed their drivers, I figured I'd try it again. After trying everything short of a reinstall of FSX, I was wondering if anyone else up here has had a similar problem. And possibly, a solution. It runs fine in DX9. Thanks, Mike

Hi I just purchased my DX10 Fixer and I love it, it fixed two mayor problems I had in DX10. However reading in other forums it seems that there is no way of having the tooltips tags shown in DX10 mode other than windowed mode or a pseudo full screen (kind of windowed borderless mode), is this true? I decided for the first time in a year or two to let FsX create a new cfg as I was having slow loading time issue. So having removed the cfg and starting FsX I immediately get a fatal error message. Could this possibly be a Dx10 issue?

Hi, I'm sorry if this has been covered before, but I tried a search for my "peculiar" issue, without finding anything similar. Short and sweet...my aircrafts get weird shadows in external views. Often it looks like a smaller version of the actual aircraft. Running FSX-SE. A couple of screenshots: Virtavia's B-1B is especially bad MilViz F-4E Phantom II is not too rough, but still some weird flickering across the fuselage at times. I've unchecked Toned Shadows, as I picked up a comment about that from another post, but while it did seem to help a bit on the F-4E, it did nothing for the B-1B. Not sure why but after uninstalling and reinstalling FSX, DX10 fixer no longer works. Was working fine yesterday until I had to uninstall flightsim. Today I reinstalled FSX Steam and tried using the controller, except every time I try to switch on DX10 Fixer, my fullscreen or windowed screen is completely black.. I need help!

Hello Here is my configuration: NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX970 Inter Core i7-6700K @4.00GHz 32GB RAM FSX + DX10Fixer W10 Family I would like to have advices on how to configure my NVIDIA Card - There is a lot of notes from a lot of people and it is hard to find my way. If one can give me the main parameters it would be OK As you can see, my harware configuration is quite good. I have set parameters in the NVIDIA parameter panel. Hello I have just been aware that the V3.3 was available. I have currently V3.0 Should I Uninstall V3.0 (with the DX10 Uninstal) and Install the V3.3? Or Can I install V3.3 on V3.0 ? Hi all, I have an issue regarding the vc shadows. When I have the sun behind the aircraft, the cockpit screens get a huge brightness decrease and the lisibility is reduced a lot. Maybe I forgot to do something.. Thank you very much !

Hi Steve, Because of a defective hard drive I need to reinstall dx10 fixer. Unfortunately it's not entirely obvious to me how this is achieved unless of course there is only a one time installation. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Richard

Hey all, Every once in awhile I see these weird glitches with ground textures. Yesterday was the worst one I've seen to date while landing at KMCI. I'm using Steve's presets on the DX10 fixer. Add-on's include ORBX Global FTX, PMDG 737NGX, GSX, FS2Crew, Ultimate Traffic Live, and Active Sky 2016. Is what I'm seeing a DX10 issue or should I search elsewhere? Thanks!

Hello, I want to buy Steve's DX10 fixer for FSX:SE but I'm worried that it wont fix what i want it to... When using Direct X 10 my payware and freeware scenery's have a problem... The PAPI lights to the left of the runway are way to big and bright http://imgur.com/l3CPZ4S - sorry about quality, i had to take the picture on my phone. My question is, Will the DX10 fixer fix this issue with Direct X 10 and fix the PAPI lights so the PAPI lights are small and normal like with DX9? Hello Steve, hello guys. As stated above, I'm a newbie regarding DX10. I purchased both packages (Fixer and Cloud) ~3 weeks ago and I'm struggling to get the best out of it. To better understand what's going on, I installed only DX10 fixer at this time and took Steves HD profile. Left anything else untouched. I choose to not convert any of the effects. 1. I also use PrecipitFX: Acc. to Oldprop manual, precipitFX no longer requires effects conversion (it has DX10 compatibility "out of the box". After an unsuccessful attempt to run FSX:Steam, I have reverted to FSX/Acceleration only to find that DX10 fixer is damaged and will not retain the FSX directory. Each time it is entered, it has vanished the next time. and DX10 seems to do nothing. Should I remove it entirely and re-install. Ian Harrison

Steve, I recently updated successfully to the Windows 10 Creators Update. One minor issue was that is set all of my NVIDIA Control Panel and Profile Inspector settings to default. I previously used 4x sparse grid supersampling with 8x CSAA set in the DX10 Anti Aliasing box in the DX10 Controller and this seemed to work well with my 2560x1440 monitor. After the Windows Update, I decided to try just FXAA in the NVIDIA Control Panel for FSX and it looks just as good to my eyes and gives about 15-20 FPS more. What setting would you recommend in the DX10 Controller for DX10 Anti Aliasing using FXAA?

Hi there, I observed since a couple of time that the ground shadows are ticked from some user, maybe unadvertently due to the "shadows" naming, although this option is strongly recommended not be activated. Why not to include a warning message into the DX10 Diagnostics? Wulf

Steve, I've tried both Sweetfx and Reshade in the past to try and improve the slightly default washed out look of FSX, but haven't been that happy with either as they can sometimes cause FSX to crash, or cause display anomalies to the menus and kneeboard amongst other things. I was wondering, given your obvious knowledge of FSX DX10 shaders, whether it might be feasible to include either or both an HDR or Curves slider into the fixer. I have no idea how these things work and may be talking out of my xxxx! Thoughts? Cheers, Stuart
